  1. First Batch of Customers

"Sure."

The Starfish Ornaments special ability wasn't something that could produce finished ornaments through direct use. Each Starfish Ornament required the integration of complex crafting techniques. Through his earlier practice, Lin Ye had gradually grown familiar with the crafting process.

"Boss, what kind of currency are Trade points? I don't have any Trade points on me."

The Fat Man went inside to take a look, then came back out.

"They're the system's universal currency. If you don't have Trade points, you can exchange valuable items for Trade points."

The Fleshy Monster's body structure was quite fascinating. Lin Ye planned to collect some materials from this place.

"...Do you think this will work?"

The Fat Man pulled a dark-colored Crystal from his pocket. The interior of the Crystal was extremely murky, and it looked like the purity wasn't very high.

"A Rule Crystal with very low purity? Seems like there's other stuff mixed in as well... I'll give you 50 Trade points for it."

Lin Ye sensed the contents of this Rule Crystal. It was different from the Rule Crystals he had seen before.

"Alright... Can I buy the ones you just made?"

The Fat Man glanced at the Starfish Ornament in Lin Ye's hand. He felt that this one was a higher grade than the ones inside.

"Good eye. These ones are more expensive. I'd suggest you try a basic model first. With these things, pricier doesn't always mean better."

Lin Ye had a lot of dangerous materials on hand. Comparatively speaking, Starfish Ornaments made from flesh and blood materials were the safer option.

"Will these ornaments be put on the shelves later?"

The Fat Man didn't want to miss out on those ornaments that looked incredibly rare, but he couldn't determine the value of the Starfish Ornaments. What if he bought them and then found out they were useless to him? That would be a huge loss.

"Yeah, but every Starfish Ornament I sell has a different function. There might be a lot of people coming to buy Starfish Ornaments later on. If you have a specific ornament you want, you'd better come early."

Lin Ye toyed with the Rule Crystal in his hand. A deity was very likely imprisoned here. This time, he decided to play it safe and just stay here selling Starfish Ornaments.

"Alright, I got it."

The Fat Man went into the general store, picked out a Starfish Ornament he liked, and quickly left the store.

He needed to go study what this thing did.

"Boss, the flyers are ready. Would you like to take a look?"

Lola walked up behind the rocking chair and spoke in a soft voice.

"Have you ever seen this kind of Crystal?"

Lin Ye applied a little force, and fine cracks appeared across the surface of the Rule Crystal.

"This is an extremely precious type of Crystal. It counts as a high-tier currency around here. You can obtain them from certain monsters, or you can go mining out in the wilderness. But the wilderness is extremely dangerous, and not many people who go out there make it back alive."

Actually, Lola didn't know much about this place either. She had only entered this Plane about a year ago.

"So that means there are plenty of Crystals like this out in the wilderness... That's really great news."

This wasn't an ordinary Rule Crystal. Lin Ye had discovered some extremely tiny Rule Fragments inside it. In other words, if he could get a sufficient quantity of these Crystals and acquire the technique for purifying Rule Fragments, he could extract Rule Fragments from these Crystals - or even complete rules.

Of course, that would require an immense quantity of Rule Crystals and very high-end purification techniques.

Ordinary Rule Crystals only contained a small amount of rule power. They had no Rule Fragments inside them at all.

'This is truly... an unexpected windfall.'

Lin Ye had originally only planned to use this Plane's customers to study the functions of the Starfish Ornaments. He never expected to find something this good here.

'Though I've never purified Rule Fragments before. That's a bit of a problem.'

Lin Ye tried using mental energy to purify the Rule Fragments, but unfortunately, the results were poor, and it easily affected his mental energy.

"It will accompany you while you distribute the flyers. As long as you don't go too far, there won't be any problems."

Lin Ye had the Fleshy Monster accompany Lola to distribute flyers nearby.

"Okay."

Even though Lola was a bit afraid of the Fleshy Monster, it did make her feel much safer.

Lin Ye put away the Rule Crystal. He planned to research the method for purifying Rule Fragments once he got back. After all, he could bring the Rule Crystals back to the Shelter.

About forty minutes later, the Fat Man returned to the entrance of the general store. He took out a pouch of murky Rule Crystals from his backpack and set it on the table next to the rocking chair.

"That's 550 Trade points total."

Lin Ye gave them a glance. There were 11 Rule Crystals in the pouch.

"There's one fairly large Crystal in there. Could you give me a bit more for it?"

This was already all of the Fat Man's assets. He wanted to exchange for as many Trade points as possible.

"Fine, I'll give you 570 Trade points."

Earning Trade points was just a side benefit. What Lin Ye really needed was more Rule Crystals and Experimental Subjects.

"Great, can I take a look at those Starfish Ornaments made from other materials?"

The Fat Man struggled to contain his excitement. He never thought he'd be able to buy something like this, and at such a cheap price, no less.

"They've all been put on display. Once the current stock sells out, I'll bring out new Starfish Ornaments."

Lola had only taken about ten minutes to distribute the flyers. After she came back, Lin Ye had her arrange the other Starfish Ornaments and mark them with prices.

The Fat Man couldn't wait to step into the general store. He really wanted to buy up all the Starfish Ornaments, but unfortunately, he simply didn't have that many Crystals.

He did entertain some not-so-good ideas, but the moment he remembered that all these Starfish Ornaments were goods crafted by Lin Ye, those thoughts vanished instantly.

Just as the Fat Man entered the general store, a man wearing a red mask emerged from an alley. He stopped in front of Lin Ye and spoke:

"I'll take everything in the store. How many Trade points in total?"

"I can craft new Starfish Ornaments at any time. Your Crystals aren't enough to put me out of stock. I'd suggest you buy the Starfish Ornaments you like - but that's just a suggestion. The total price for all the Starfish Ornaments in the store is 9,050 Trade points, which comes to 181 Crystals. That Fat Man has already paid his Crystals. Once he's done picking, you can take away the remaining Starfish Ornaments."

Lin Ye had originally planned to deal with these Masked Figures when he had a free moment. But since the Masked Figures were being so cooperative, he decided to give these people a chance to live.

"Hold on. This is the deposit."

The Red Mask opened the suitcase in his hand. It was packed full of murky Crystals - 100 in total.

Not long after, a White Mask ran out from the alley and handed another suitcase to Lin Ye. Inside were exactly 81 Rule Crystals.

"I've made my choice. These two."

The Fat Man walked out from inside, holding two Starfish Ornaments in his hands.

They were worth exactly 570 Trade points.

"That black ornament is quite dangerous, which is why it's more expensive."

Lin Ye casually added a word of caution.

"I understand. Thank you."

The Fat Man became even more interested in the black ornament. The more dangerous something was, the greater its power.
