Chapter 367 - 14
Chapter 367: Chapter 14
"Ye Yun, we’ve found something interesting," Lin Hao said, walking over to Ye Yun with a report in hand. "There are some anomalies in the genetic sequences of these mutated creatures. It seems the mutations were caused by some kind of external factor."
Ye Yun took the report and read it carefully. "This could be the key to understanding the wasteland’s mutated creatures. Lin Hao, you and your team need to continue your research. If possible, find a way to inhibit or even reverse the mutations."
Lin Hao nodded, his eyes glinting with determination. "I will, Ye Yun. Our research could change the future of the Shelter."
Meanwhile, Zhou Mei and Leo were also planning their next treasure-hunting expedition. They believed there were still many undiscovered treasures in the wasteland, which would provide valuable resources for the Shelter’s development.
"Ye Yun, we’ve identified our next exploration target," Zhou Mei said, approaching him with a map. "It’s an old laboratory. It might have the technical data we need."
Ye Yun examined the map and nodded. "Excellent. Zhou Mei, Leo, get ready and organize an expedition team. I’ll have Bena provide you with the necessary support."
Bena, who was listening nearby, immediately agreed. "No problem. I’ll arrange for the team and equipment and ensure their safety."
In every corner of the Shelter, the residents knew their lives were full of challenges, but it was these very challenges that made them more united and resilient. They believed that under Ye Yun’s leadership, they could overcome any difficulty and create a better future.
Night fell. The lights of the Shelter gradually went out, but Ye Yun remained standing in the command center, staring at the screen. He knew it was his responsibility to ensure the safety of every resident, and he would give his all to do so.
In this wasteland, the lights of the Shelter were like a beacon, illuminating the darkness and giving people hope. And Ye Yun was the one who guarded that light. He would lead the residents of the Shelter toward a brighter future.
「As time went on.」
Daily life in the Shelter gradually returned to a state of calm, but Ye Yun and the other members of the leadership team didn’t let their guard down. They knew the world of the wasteland could present a new threat at any moment. To prepare for unknown challenges, they began to work on a new round of defense and expansion plans.
In the Shelter’s conference room, Ye Yun gathered the core team to discuss the future direction of their development.
"Our defense system is already quite solid, but we can’t get complacent," Ye Yun said, pointing to the defense blueprints on the screen. "We need to further reinforce the walls and consider establishing an early warning system so we can detect enemies as they approach."
Zhou Mei added, "We also need to consider the long-term supply of food and water. If we can find a fertile piece of land, we can establish a stable agricultural zone and become self-sufficient."
Leo then brought up their energy needs. "We mainly rely on solar and wind power, but if we could develop more efficient energy technology, our growth would no longer be limited by the weather."
Lin Hao also offered his perspective. "Technology is our core advantage. We need to constantly develop new tech to increase productivity, and at the same time, research more effective medical treatments to improve the residents’ quality of life."
Bena, for his part, focused on the Shelter’s military strength. "Our rapid response team performed exceptionally in the last battle, but we need more training and more advanced equipment to ensure we can protect our home under any circumstances."
Under Ye Yun’s guidance, everyone brainstormed and formulated a series of development plans. They decided to implement these plans in phases, starting with strengthening defenses and improving the residents’ livelihoods.
「A few days later.」
The Shelter’s expansion project officially began. Workers started installing new defensive fortifications on the walls, while the research team developed new energy technologies in the lab. Agricultural experts led residents in reclaiming land to establish a small experimental farming plot, and Bena led the rapid response team through intense training on the training grounds.
On the outskirts of the Shelter, scouts were dispatched to reconnoiter farther out. They needed to draw more detailed maps of the wasteland, searching for potential resources and possible threats.
Inside the Shelter, the residents’ lives were also gradually improving. A new medical center began operating, providing more comprehensive healthcare services. An education plan was also put on the agenda, and children began to receive basic education and survival skills training.
As time passed, the Shelter grew more prosperous and powerful. The residents saw hope, believing that with Ye Yun leading them, their tomorrow would be even better.
However, the world of the wasteland was always full of uncertainty. Just as the residents of the Shelter were basking in peace and hope, a new threat quietly emerged.
A mysterious caravan appeared within sight of the Shelter. They brought news and goods from the outside world, but they also put the Shelter’s leadership on high alert. What was their purpose? Would they bring new dangers?
Ye Yun and the core team immediately convened an emergency meeting to discuss how to handle this new variable.
"We can’t just trust them," Lin Hao said. "We need to learn more about them."
Zhou Mei, however, offered a cautious suggestion. "We can trade with them, but at the same time, we must heighten our security to prevent any unnecessary trouble."
