Global Shelter Game
Chapter 348 - 3.2
Chapter 348: Chapter 3.2
Bena acknowledged Xiaoli’s work with a nod. "Very good, Xiaoli. Solar power is key to our energy self-sufficiency, but we can’t rely on it completely. We need to develop more energy projects."
"Yes, Bena." Dr. Zhang, the energy expert, approached. "We’re already researching the potential of wind and geothermal energy. Both have enormous potential in the Wasteland."
Bena listened attentively to Dr. Zhang’s plan and offered his own suggestion. "Dr. Zhang, I suggest we move forward with both projects simultaneously. The wind power project can be set up on the high ground around the shelter, while the geothermal project will require precise exploration by our geologists."
"That’s an excellent idea, Bena," Dr. Zhang agreed. "We’ll get started right away and aim for a breakthrough as soon as possible."
Under Bena’s guidance, the engineers and experts at the energy control center began their intense yet orderly work. The engineers conducted a comprehensive inspection and upgrade of the existing energy systems, while the experts scoured the Wasteland for new power sources.
A few days later, Bena convened an energy meeting to discuss their progress on energy self-sufficiency and their plans for the future.
"Everyone, our efforts toward energy self-sufficiency have yielded initial results," Bena said at the meeting. "But we can’t be satisfied with this. We must constantly optimize and improve to ensure the shelter’s energy supply is unfailing."
"Bena, we’ve completed the preliminary survey for the geothermal project," reported Xiaochen, the geologist. "The thermal energy underground is abundant. We’re confident we can build a highly efficient geothermal power plant."
"Excellent, Xiaochen," Bena nodded. "Geothermal power is a vital component of our self-sufficiency. It will provide us with a stable, continuous supply of energy."
"Bena, our wind power project has also made progress," said Xiaoliu, an engineer. "We’ve selected several optimal locations for wind turbines and have already begun the design process."
Bena praised Xiaoliu’s work. "A rapid response is key to guaranteeing our energy supply. We need to ensure every project moves forward swiftly and can be brought online at a moment’s notice."
As the meeting continued, Bena and his team discussed further energy initiatives and plans. They decided to install more solar panels in various areas of the shelter, increasing the share of solar power in their energy mix. They also planned to establish an energy dispatch center to intelligently manage and optimize power distribution.
Under Bena’s leadership, the shelter’s energy system was thoroughly upgraded and improved. The new solar panels, geothermal power plant, and wind turbines combined to form a diversified energy supply network.
The residents felt a tangible sense of security in their energy supply. They knew that thanks to the efforts of Bena and his team, the shelter could withstand any external energy threats, protecting their lives and their homes.
Ye Yun highly praised Bena’s work. "Bena, you and your team have made a tremendous contribution to the shelter’s energy self-sufficiency. Your hard work has made our home stronger and more dependable."
Bena responded with a smile, "Ye Yun, it is both our duty and our honor. We will continue to work hard to ensure every corner of the shelter is filled with light and power."
As the various tasks proceeded smoothly, the residents of the shelter once again felt the strength of their unity and collaboration. Through their combined efforts, their home became safer, more stable, and more beautiful.
With the completion of the recent missions, the shelter’s capabilities improved significantly. The research team, under Lin Hao’s leadership, successfully developed new medical technologies and educational curricula, raising the residents’ standard of health and quality of education. The energy project Bena was in charge of was also a resounding success. The new system not only increased their energy self-sufficiency but also provided a solid foundation for the shelter’s sustainable development.
Ye Yun expressed his high praise for the completion of these tasks. He knew that these achievements were only possible because of the hard work and contributions of every single resident. During a shelter-wide assembly, Ye Yun delivered a passionate speech:
"My dear residents, we have once again proven the power of unity. It is only through our collective effort that we’ve been able to overcome countless difficulties and achieve what we have today. Our shelter has grown stronger, and our home has become a better place. For that, I want to express my most sincere gratitude to every person who has contributed to our shelter."
The residents broke into thunderous applause, their eyes gleaming with pride and hope. They knew that as long as they remained united, there was no challenge they couldn’t overcome.
Ye Yun continued, "However, we cannot grow complacent. The Wasteland World is full of unknowns and challenges. We must constantly strengthen ourselves to handle any situation that may arise. And so, we have new missions to complete."
·
· New Mission 35: Lawmaking
Mission Description: As the shelter community expands, a comprehensive legal framework is needed to protect the rights of residents and maintain community order.
Mission Objective: Within 90 days, formulate a basic set of laws and establish a rudimentary judicial system.
Mission Reward: Successful completion will grant 5x Random Green Blueprints, 500x White Components, and a book on Legal Systems. These rewards will aid the shelter’s development of rule of law and community management.
New Mission 36: Defense Reinforcement
Mission Description: Dangers are ever-present in the Wasteland. We must further strengthen the shelter’s defenses to counter potential external threats.
Mission Objective: Within 120 days, upgrade the shelter’s defense systems, including walls, watchtowers, and automated defensive weaponry.
Mission Reward: Successful completion will grant 3x Random Purple Blueprints, 30x Basic Energy Modules, and a Defense System Design Schematic. These rewards will help improve the shelter’s defensive capabilities and security level.
New Mission 37: Transportation Construction
Mission Description: To improve internal traffic efficiency and external connections, we need to build an effective transportation network.
Mission Objective: Within 150 days, construct at least two main roads connecting the shelter’s key areas, with consideration for future expansion.
Mission Reward: Successful completion will grant 4x Random Blue Blueprints, 1000x White Components, and a Transportation Planning Guide. These rewards will help improve the shelter’s accessibility and regional development.
Ye Yun studied the new missions. ’Each one is crucial for the shelter’s survival.’ He immediately summoned Lin Hao, Zhou Mei, Leo, and Bena to discuss how to delegate the tasks and ensure each would be carried out effectively to guarantee the shelter’s security and continued development.
"Zhou Mei, New Mission Thirty-Five, Lawmaking, will require your organizational and coordination skills," Ye Yun said, addressing her first. "We need you to lead the effort to draft our legal code and establish a just judicial system."
Zhou Mei nodded solemnly. "I’ll assemble a team of legal experts right away. We’ll gather feedback from the residents and formulate a legal system tailored to our community’s specific circumstances."
Ye Yun then turned to Bena. "New Mission Thirty-Six, Defense Reinforcement, is vital to the shelter’s security. Bena, I need you to take charge of upgrading our defense systems. Make sure the shelter can withstand any external threat."
Bena nodded in understanding and promised, "I’ll organize a defense engineering team to design and implement the upgrade plan. I’ll make sure every corner of the shelter is effectively protected."
