Chapter 414: Chapter 21: Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slime (2)

As he considered this, Lin Yu used his territory’s energy to suppress the raging telekinetic storms, while simultaneously communicating with the newly-intelligent Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes, teaching them to control their Telekinesis.

Thanks to this two-pronged approach, after more than an hour of struggle, the Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes learned to control their Telekinesis and reined in their rampaging power.

’Whew— At least our good fortune didn’t turn into a catastrophe.’

Lin Yu scanned the territory one more time, and seeing no more out-of-control Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes, he was finally able to relax.

"Wraith, Chenxi..." Lin Yu called out to the high-ranking members of his territory in turn.

"There was a little mishap during the Slimes’ enhancement just now, but everything is fine!"

"Tell the soldiers and heroes they no longer need to be on alert. Have them go and calm the residents of the territory."

"Yes... As you command..."

Upon receiving Lin Yu’s message, the territory’s leaders immediately dispatched people to calm the residents and begin cleanup operations.

The Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes’ outburst had damaged many buildings in the territory. Some residents who happened to be near the Slimes were also caught in the crossfire and suffered serious injuries.

Lin Yu marked the damaged buildings and injured residents one by one, so all Wraith, Chenxi, and the others had to do was send people to the designated locations to carry out the rescue.

Looking at the widespread damage across the territory, Lin Yu wasn’t the least bit upset. In fact, he was overjoyed.

’This [Hive Mind] ability gave the Slimes some powerful Telekinesis. That’s another ace up my sleeve!’

...

「One day later.」

Chenxi, having learned of the newborn Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes’ abilities, went to the Lord’s Mansion to find Lin Yu, who was in the middle of an experiment.

At that moment, Lin Yu was projecting his consciousness into the arena.

Inside the arena, Wraith was standing in the center, surrounded by a hundred Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes.

These Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes were in their fused state, and all had reached the level cap for the Legendary Tier—Level 100.

Under Lin Yu’s command, Wraith had to fight these one hundred max-level Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes to test their abilities.

Lin Yu wanted to see just what kind of results the upgrade he’d given the Gluttonous Slimes had produced.

Prior to this, Wraith had already fought against groups of one, two... ten, twenty, and fifty Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes.

Unsurprisingly, Wraith was victorious every time.

However, judging from the expression on Wraith’s face, he wasn’t particularly happy. To defeat fifty Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes, he’d had to use nearly all of his strength, holding nothing back aside from his skills.

He was somewhat ashamed of this result.

In terms of raw stats alone, a Legendary Tier hero is 104 times stronger than an Excellent Tier creature of the same level. In contrast, a non-heroic Legendary Tier creature is only a little over twice as strong as an Excellent Tier creature at the same level.

In actual combat, however, a 52-fold difference in stats can’t be overcome simply by gathering 52 non-heroic Legendary Tier creatures.

A stone’s density might be only twice an egg’s, but no matter how many eggs you throw at it, you’ll never break the stone.

Similarly, without an ability to focus their collective strength, it’s impossible to defeat a Legendary Tier hero with sheer numbers. The best one could hope for is to drain the hero’s energy and stamina, forcing a retreat.

But the Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes *did* have a way to fight in unison.

Although the combined stats of fifty Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes were still inferior to Wraith’s, they were already capable of injuring him. If it weren’t for his incredible speed, he would have been wounded in the fight.

And now, he had to face one hundred Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes.

When nearly 100 Level-100 Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes gathered, their combined Spiritual Power would be amplified to 100 times that of a Level-100 Legendary Soldier.

(A single Level-100 Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slime provides a base amplification of 1x. Each additional slime of the same level increases the amplification by another 1x.)

This would allow their Telekinesis to generate destructive power comparable to that of a Mythic Tier hero.

(The stat bonuses gained per level are higher for the Mythic Tier than for the Legendary Tier.)

Learning from the previous battles, he was now cautiously equipped with all his gear, prepared to go all out.

"Wraith, go for it! Don’t lose to them, you hear?" Lin Yu’s voice echoed in Wraith’s ears.

"My Lord, I will give it my all!"

Lin Yu’s words also rang in the minds of the Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes: "Go on, Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes! Show me that your power is worthy of the enhancement I gave you."

Upon hearing him, every one of the Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes swelled up its body, readying itself for an all-out fight.

"Begin!"

In the next instant, Wraith charged like a bolt of lightning toward the nearest Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slime.

CLANG—

A Telekinesis Shield had appeared in front of Wraith.

The Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes’ speed and reflexes were inferior to Wraith’s, but it was as if they could see the future; they had preemptively used their Telekinesis to erect a shield directly in his path.

Wraith’s gaze hardened. With a flicker of his body, several identical figures of him shot off, charging toward Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes in different directions.

The air currents began to accelerate, and a tornado started to form. Within the vortex, countless Wind Blades began to materialize.

The Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes immediately mobilized their Telekinesis, forming a massive Telekinesis Barrier that completely enveloped the tornado. The barrier then began to shrink, compressing the cyclone within.
