Global Lords: My Territory Heart Is a World Tree
Chapter 373 - 7: Messenger (Part 3)
Chapter 373: Chapter 7: Messenger (Part 3)
The suggestion came from Chenxi.
"Absolutely! I’ve been thinking it’s a huge waste to have a powerhouse like him sitting idle in the territory. That’s why I sent Dong Lin out on reconnaissance in the first place, but your arrangement is definitely better."
"Those rowdy combat-type students will definitely be thrilled to hear that our territory’s number one hero is going to teach them how to fight."
Phantom nodded in agreement, then asked Dong Lin, "What do you think? Are you in?"
"I’ll go, of course I’ll go!!"
Dong Lin happily agreed. As the territory’s first hero, he felt it was his duty to pass on his skills and combat experience.
Besides, he had never been to school before. He’d heard upon returning that the territory had established a complete educational system and built many schools, which made him quite curious.
Dong Lin walked out of the Supreme Commander’s office in high spirits.
Inside the office, Yuan Xiaobo watched Dong Lin leave and silently gave Chenxi a thumbs-up. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to work with Dong Lin.
The main issue was that Dong Lin’s stealth methods were completely ridiculous and far too risky. It wasn’t reconnaissance; it was a full-blown assault, which could easily provoke the enemy into surrounding and annihilating them.
He and Dong Lin wouldn’t be in much danger, but the scouts under his command would likely suffer heavy casualties if they were surrounded.
’Getting your men killed because of "assault-style reconnaissance" is just a fucking stupid reason to die.’
’If that happened, I’d be laughed at for the rest of my life when I got back to the territory. Absolutely not.’
"Alright, then I’ll get back to my reconnaissance mission!"
Seeing the matter resolved, Yuan Xiaobo was about to head out and continue his unfinished reconnaissance mission.
Chenxi quickly grabbed Yuan Xiaobo. "Wait, wait!!"
"What is it?"
"Your reconnaissance mission is over, too. The Lord has another task for you!"
"What task?" Yuan Xiaobo’s eyes widened.
"You’re to take a team of trained Gladiators with him to Lord Li Hua’s territory for a joint defense conference."
Chenxi gestured to the messenger beside her.
"Ah... a meeting!!" Yuan Xiaobo was a little disappointed. He thought it was going to be some important secret mission.
"You’ve dealt with Lord Li Hua several times before, haven’t you? What’s one more trip?"
"But Lin Kong always handled this stuff before..."
"Since we got back this time, who knows where that kid Lin Kong has run off to."
Yuan Xiaobo didn’t want to attend the conference. He had been to a few of the territory’s meetings, and they were incredibly boring.
So he suggested, "Why not have Lin Kong take the men? I’d rather go do reconnaissance."
"Haha~" Chenxi looked at him with amusement and shook her head. "Lin Kong has more important things to do. Besides, the Lord specifically requested you. Don’t even try to struggle out of it!"
"Fine, fine! A team of Gladiators, you said? I’ll go get them now."
Yuan Xiaobo nodded in resignation.
"Wait, *trained* Gladiators!!! Do you even know where to find them?"
Phantom quickly called out to Yuan Xiaobo.
"Huh? Aren’t all Gladiators trained? How can you become a Gladiator without being trained?"
Seeing Yuan Xiaobo’s confused expression, Phantom explained, "The research institute has developed a lot of new Spiritual Armaments, and both the Gladiators and Druid Guards are required to undergo corresponding training."
"To complete the training, they need to master the use of these Spiritual Armaments, learn some simple battle formations, and develop their ability to fight cooperatively."
"The Gladiators and Druid Guards who complete this training are organized into the Civilian Corps. We’ll decide whether to send them to the battlefield later, depending on the situation."
"So, there’s a pretty big difference between those who have passed the training and those who haven’t."
"I see!" Yuan Xiaobo finally understood. At the same time, his interest was piqued by the Spiritual Armaments Phantom mentioned.
"Where are the Gladiators who’ve been converted to militiamen?"
"They’re all in the Militia Camp. It’s a new building, located at..." Phantom gave him an address.
"Okay, I’ll go gather the men right now. You wait here. Once I have them, we’ll head to your territory together."
Yuan Xiaobo said to the messenger beside Chenxi, then ran out the door with an excited look on his face.
Just then, Phantom received another order from Lin Yu. He shot a look at Chenxi, who understood immediately.
"Hello. It looks like Yuan Xiaobo will be a while, so please come with me back to the foreign guest reception area. You can rest in the lounge for a bit. Once Yuan Xiaobo returns, you can depart."
"Of course, you’re also welcome to look around our territory. If you’d like, I can arrange a guide for you when we get back."
"That won’t be necessary. I can just take a look around on the way to the reception area."
"Alright, then I’ll show you around on the way."
During their conversation, Chenxi led the messenger out of the office and headed toward the Government Affairs Center.
Once Chenxi had left the office with the messenger, Phantom immediately arranged for men to be dispatched to the middle ring of the territory.
Lin Yu had just sent a message giving him a set of coordinates. He was to send people to those locations, capture the spies who had snuck into the territory, and then escort them out.
’Having one of Li Hua’s messengers tour the territory is one thing, but it’s best to get everyone else out for now.’
’If they want to see our territory, they can apply for entry after we’ve established a proper diplomatic department.’
Patrol teams received their orders and hurried to the coordinates. Sure enough, they found non-territory personnel near each location. Following their orders, the patrols escorted them out.
The spies sent by these ordinary lords were common troop types, not like the Legendary Sword Immortal sent by Li Hua. They couldn’t resist the patrols and were obediently escorted out.
...
Meanwhile, Yuan Xiaobo spent some time at the Militia Camp playing with the territory’s new Spiritual Armaments. He tried out every piece of equipment in the camp, satisfying his curiosity and having his fill of fun. Only then did he take the transfer order and gather a full, 100-man Militia Team of Human Race Gladiators.
Then, he led this team of Gladiators to the foreign guest reception area in the Government Affairs Center.
It was called a foreign guest reception area, but in reality, it was just a single office with an attached lounge.
After all, no outsiders had visited the territory before, so there had been no need for a proper reception area.
However, Chenxi knew the messenger had filmed many videos of the territory, and the Lord hadn’t stopped him. She figured there would probably be many more outsiders visiting in the future.
She felt a little embarrassed by the shabby reception area and thought to herself, ’I need to hurry up and build a proper guesthouse for diplomatic personnel. I’ll go give Xia Luo the instructions later.’
When she saw Yuan Xiaobo walk in with his men, Chenxi quickly went to greet them with the messenger.
"Yuan Xiaobo, now that you’ve gathered the men, you should set off as soon as possible. He’s been in our territory for a long time, and the conference at Lord Li Hua’s might be over by the time you get there."
"You got it! We’re leaving now!" Yuan Xiaobo replied, then shouted, "Hey Chenxi, can you get the research center to develop a set of Spiritual Armaments for me? I’m a legend, after all. A little special treatment isn’t too much to ask, right?"
"Sure. Go to the research institute yourself when you get back, but you’ll have to pay for it with military merits, you know!"
"No problem!"
