“Father, the wind has picked up outside.”

“Put this cloak on.”

A gentle and tranquil voice resonated in the study.

Marquis Henry Lancaster turned around, took the cloak, and draped it over his shoulders, fastening the clasps in the front and back.

The velveteen cloak was exquisitely crafted and fit perfectly.

Evidently, it was a tailored, high-quality cloak.

“Penny, why have you come?”

“Didn’t you go out to the flower house?”

The Marquis of Lancaster smiled warmly, reaching out to tweak the visitor’s nose.

“Mother and I just returned from the flower house.”

“The white-streaked roses have been blooming one after another these days.”

“They’re just right for decorating the banquet!”

The visitor was Penny Lancaster, Henry Lancaster’s youngest daughter.

It’s no exaggeration to call her his darling.

At least Penny’s two sisters never received much affection from Marquis Henry.

“Father, ever since Uncle Kunyel came looking for you, you’ve often stood on the terrace daydreaming.”

“Did the Knight Order encounter any trouble?”

Penny asked cautiously.

She was about to come of age, blossoming into beauty and grace, having received excellent education in ladylike conduct since childhood.

Her character was gentle and naïve.

She was like a tender flower that had yet to experience wind, frost, or snow, retaining the purest and most beautiful fragrance.

Hearing Penny’s question, Marquis Henry was initially startled, then shook his head.

“It’s not about the Knight Order.”

“The heretics in Odu Village have already been eradicated.”

“Although we lost quite a few Expeditionary Army warriors, we successfully eliminated that part of the Cold Crow Apostle Corps.”

“And we brought back three elders of the Apostle Corps and quite a few Church deacons.”

He patiently explained, as Penny was pure in heart but very intelligent.

Marquis Henry would not hide it from her.

“My anxiety is because the Second Prince is coming!”

“Previously, Kunyel discovered a Demon Ruins, reportedly related to the Demon Hunters of the last era.”

“The so-called Demon Hunters all came from the fallen Elf Race warriors of the last era. They were born to slay demons but were essentially demons themselves.”

“That ruin is located south of Lentax Giant City, in the Dark Light Forest.”

“Initially, Kunyel’s plan was to set off in two and a half months, but now it seems to be ahead of schedule.”

“The Second Prince learned about this, and besides attending the banquet, he is here to explore the Demon Ruins with Kunyel.”

Marquis Henry Lancaster spoke slowly.

A gentle breeze passed outside the terrace, lifting the hair at his temples.

Penny nodded with sudden realization.

No wonder the guards in the city and at the major outskirts became much stricter today.

“Are you worried about the Second Prince encountering danger in the ruins?”

Seeing her father remain silent, Penny pondered for a while before raising her head to add.

Marquis Henry nodded.

“Indeed, the Second Prince is naturally indulgent and loves adventure.”

“Nowadays, the King’s health deteriorates with each passing day, with his life nearing its end.”

“Except for the missing Fifth Princess, all the other princes and princesses are vying for power.”

“In the ensuing open and covert struggles, governors everywhere are forced to take sides.”

“Especially since Duke Jonathan, one of the Three Dukes, stands behind the Second Prince.”

“Duke Jonathan is in charge of the Imperial City closest to the central eastern region out of the three Imperial Cities.”

“If anything were to happen to the Second Prince in Lentax Giant City, the Lancaster family might not continue to stand in Lentax.”

Marquis Henry Lancaster said solemnly.

“Then we should send more guards over…”

“This way, we can ensure the Second Prince’s safety.”

Penny thought for a moment, then offered her suggestion.

Marquis Henry chuckled bitterly and shook his head.

“No, the Second Prince would consider it an insult and rejection!”

“For now, we can only take one step at a time; at the time, we’ll allocate the Giant City elites to Kunyel and remind him to be cautious everywhere.”

“The combined strength of the Giant City’s elite, along with the Pandragon Loyal Guard and Pandragon Dragon Guard accompanying the Second Prince, should ensure safety against ordinary ruins.”

“From today onwards, Penny, you must take a Transformation Potion daily to make yourself less attractive.”

“The Second Prince is too indulgent; accompanying him might not be a good thing for you.”

“The royal power struggle hasn’t settled yet; although the Lancaster family has ostensibly taken a side, leaving a way out is also good…”

Hearing her father say this, the clever Penny immediately understood.

She lifted her skirt’s edge, bent her knees slightly, and performed a curtsey.

Penny’s obedience and sensibility were why Marquis Henry adored her and even allowed her to freely enter and exit his study to discuss the Giant City’s secrets.

“Please rest assured, Father, Penny understands.”

The Disguise Potion could adjust facial bones and muscles according to one’s will.

Penny wasn’t taking it for the first time.

Since it’s a physical adjustment, Detection Magic couldn’t see through it.

Speaking of which, even the Fifth Princess often took this potion to travel disguised as a commoner.

The Second Prince, with his unrestrained character, having seen various beautiful women, naturally understood the so-called Disguise Potion.

But for a “player” at his level, what he valued more about women was the interest.

As long as he doesn’t become interested in Penny at the time, he won’t have any interest afterward.

The most important thing was for political chess.

The current alignment doesn’t mean much; however, if Penny were to become the Second Prince’s woman.
