Chapter 1193 - Chapter 1193: Chapter 789, Lord of Giantstone
Chapter 1193: Chapter 789, Lord of Giantstone
To the east of Thorn Tooth Forest.
On the horizontal branch of a towering ancient tree stood a falcon with gray feathers.
The falcon wore leather armor and had a *Book of Lords* hanging from its waist.
At this moment, it stood dumbfounded on the thick branch, staring in horror at the explosions and flickering lights in the distance.
“Hey! What are you standing there dazed for? What’s exploding over there? Such commotion!”
Below the tree, a massive brown bear stood upright. Its fur gradually receded, transforming into a muscular middle-aged man.
“It’s, it’s over. It’s the Undead Scourge. The undead are coming,” the falcon said fearfully.
“Scourge? What scourge? Look at you with that scared little bird expression!” The brown bear man cursed, starting to climb up the trunk.
When he had just climbed onto the branch, his expression suddenly changed.
He felt a chilling sensation on his back, an overwhelming fear deep in his heart, spreading throughout his entire body.
The surroundings were dim, yet the area in front of his sight was brightly lit.
On a stone bridge spanning the valley, a fierce battle was underway.
Countless Skeletons packed the entire stone bridge, and even in the forests behind, there were endless numbers of Skeleton Warriors.
*So many of them. It was the first time they had seen an army of this scale.*
On the edge of the valley, Skeletons wielding rifles fired incessantly at the opposing side.
In the skies, Bone Dragons and Thunder Eagles were locked in deadly chases and battles.
Among them, occasional glimpses of true dragons could be seen, endlessly circling above.
*What the hell is going on here?*
*Why are there so many undead in the territory of the Elf Clan?*
*And who exactly are these undead fighting against? The battleground was littered with Skeletons as far as the eye could see, with no sight of their enemies.*
“It really is the damned Undead Scourge. Did the game get a new version update?” The brown bear man sat on the branch hugging the tree trunk with both arms.
“This isn’t a game.”
“You’re talking about a new version—do you think the undead might launch a war against the other factions?” the brown bear continued.
“No way…,” the falcon answered instinctively. But suddenly, its thoughts spun, and it said, “Do you feel that this army resembles the undead force from the photos posted in the world channel attacking the Sea Tribe recently?”
“Vrak! It really does look like them, doesn’t it….”
The two were instantly dumbstruck.
*They seemed to have stumbled upon something extraordinary—the Undead Scourge had truly begun.*
After a moment of silence, born of shock and fear, the falcon spoke again: “Do you think the rifles used by those Skeletons could belong to a transmigrator’s army?”
In this world, there were firelocks and cannons,
but their shapes differed greatly from modern rifles.
*The sudden emergence of advanced rifles in the hands of undead soldiers made one suspect if they were being led by a transmigrator.*
The brown bear man froze. “How’s that possible? Even the greatest transmigrator couldn’t have developed to this scale.”
His words were dismissive, but his unease grew stronger deep down.
*If this truly was the army of a transmigrator, the disparity between them and others would be monumental.*
*An Alliance pulling together a thousand-soldier army would already count as a remarkably developed faction.*
*But it was simply unimaginable compared to the countless skeletal soldiers around them.*
The falcon said no more. Its wings morphed into arms, and it grabbed the *Book of Lords* from its waist, snapping a couple of pictures of the battlefield.
The brown bear man, who was already in his human form, also took out his *Book of Lords* and started taking pictures.
After snapping for a while,
they saw that the skeleton soldiers had charged into the city. “Come on, let’s get closer and check out the battles inside the city!”
“Are you crazy? What if we get spotted?”
“Why panic? Look at you—you’re acting like a scared bear.”
…
The arrival of a Giant instantly wiped out large swathes of Skeletons.
The sheer visual impact was second only to the Dragon Queen’s Zenith Sun of Gold.
The Dragon Queen’s skill wiped out troops and buildings alike, leaving not even a tile behind. At least the Giant before them wasn’t terrifying to the extent of annihilating nearby structures along with everything around it.
They focused their gaze on the figure stepping out of the great hall, the Giant himself.
*[Lord of Giantstone – Priestley (Hero God)]*
As the Giant gradually walked out of the great hall, its name and rank surfaced along with its appearance.
*So it really was a Demigod.*
The *Lord of Giantstone* was clad in full gray armor. The surface of the armor was adorned with intricate runes.
The Giant gripped a broad and heavy sword that dragged across the ground, emitting ear-piercing noises as it scraped.
With the second step forward out of the hall, it seemed as if an entire area was engulfed by an invisible force field.
The skeleton soldiers charging back into battle began to move sluggishly.
They appeared to be weighed down by heavy burdens.
*Clearly, it was a negative status effect.*
*Demigods were certainly no easy foes….*
*Looking back, the earlier fight against the ‘Lord of Thunder’ felt like it was against a total loser.*
*Its strength paled in comparison to the Demigods encountered later on.*
The *Lord of Giantstone* stepped out of the main hall, his cold eyes scanning the scene before him.
The entire city was in ruins; there was no sign of the Divine Realm’s guards. Everywhere he looked was infested with countless short undead creatures.
“Damn ants….”
The *Lord of Giantstone* growled, hoisting his sword and stepping forward.
Fang Hao watched the massive figure through the cleric puppet and said coldly, “Prepare for Thunderstrike.”
Swish, swish!!
The Thunderstrike skill had completed its cooldown.
The Skeleton Warriors charging forward abruptly halted, their single hands gathering lightning-specked Thunder Spears.
“Release!”
Whoosh!
The piercing sound resonated as countless Thunder Spears rained down from all directions toward the towering Giant.
The *Lord of Giantstone* narrowed his eyes, utterly astonished that such lowly ants could unleash such a destructive power.
Bending his body slightly, a layer of Stone Shield enveloped him.
Crack, crack, crack!!
The dense Thunder Spears surrounded his body entirely.
The myriad shots exploding in lightning arcs illuminated the night sky with blinding flashes.
The Stone Shield shattered under the relentless bombardment, leaving the towering body charred and scorched.
The assault of Thunder Spears caused momentary spasms and quakes in his massive frame.
“Kill him!” Fang Hao commanded again.
At the instant the order was given, the countless skeletal army drew their Longswords and charged at the *Lord of Giantstone* from all directions.
They surged from the ground, leapt from buildings, and launched a frenzied attack.
Some climbed up the Giant’s legs, others hung onto his waist, stabbing his armor repeatedly with their swords.
The skeleton soldiers might not have high ranks themselves, but their equipment was of notable quality.
Every sword striking the Giant bore blue-tier weapons, clanging and striking sparks against the armor.
The *Lord of Giantstone*, recovering quickly from the negative effects, roared.
Swinging his Giant Sword, he unleashed a downward slash.
Whoosh!
Even before the Giant Sword landed, an invisible gravity field formed below it.
The undead within half a meter beneath the blade were crushed into fine dust, scattering in the wind.
Like a raging beast, the *Lord of Giantstone* swung his sword furiously.
Anything undead that approached was pulverized into dust.
But the skeletons continued their assault like an unyielding flood, attacking the Giant from every angle.
On the city walls, the width offered more space for the Giant to maneuver.
Outside the walls, skeletal shooters began crowding defensively under orders.
Entering **Steady Aim** mode, they initiated continuous rapid fire.
Hundreds of bullets pelted against the Giant’s body endlessly.
Roar!!
A dragon hero, accompanied by Bone Dragons, swooped in from overhead.
Thousands of Bone Dragons circled over the Giant’s head, seizing opportunities to unleash black Death Breath upon it.
The incessant attacks turned the *Lord of Giantstone’s* helmet into a molten iron-red hue.
Through the gaps in the metal helmet, rotting flesh could be seen oozing out.
*Despite the overwhelming offensive, there seemed to be some effect at last.*
The *Lord of Giantstone* roared, forming a layer of dense Stone Armor over his body, diminishing the damage from the Bone Dragons.
Simultaneously, he stretched his arm with a forceful wave.
Stone spears erupted from surrounding structures, thrusting skyward toward the circling Bone Dragons.
The dragons ascended swiftly, distancing themselves from the attacks.
The skeleton soldier’s path to attack on the ground transformed into fine, loose sand.
Slowing the skeleton soldiers’ progress further.
…
At the rear of the undead army.
“How goes it?” Rolana asked.
That afternoon, they had arrived at Thorn Tooth Forest. Fighting until now had dragged into the late hours of the night.
Their forces had infiltrated the city, yet it seemed far from over.
“There’s a Demigod Giant inside. Pretty fierce,” Fang Hao remarked.
“A Demigod? Another Demigod encounter?” Anjia exclaimed in shock.
Demigods were legendary warriors among every race.
Most would not see even one in their lifetime.
But Fang Hao’s group had just been chased out of the main city by a Demigod, only to face yet another one here.
“No worries. This Demigod isn’t as powerful as the Dragon Queen,” Fang Hao reassured her softly.
“What’s your plan next?” Rolana asked again.
Fang Hao thought for a moment and replied, “Quick victory.”
After speaking, he took out the Sound-transmitting Shell to contact the ancient blood gods aboard the massive ship.
A transmission portal opened, slowly emerging several figures.
Among them were the four sisters of the Martial God and a man and woman with dragon horns and collars around their necks.
*[Putrid Marsh Giant Wing – Bishop (Dark Gold Tier Five)]*
*[Ice Forged Throat – Landslett (Dark Gold Tier Three)]*
The *Putrid Marsh Giant Wing* was the Green Dragon, in human form resembling a middle-aged man.
*The Ice Forged Throat*, scaled in pale blue tones, was an Ice Dragon—a female dragon, human form featuring a woman with short pale-blue hair.
Both dragon heroes looked incredibly battered at the moment.
Disheveled and filthy, they appeared scarcely better than beggars.
Fresh scars marked their necks, still unhealed.
At the recovery speed of dragons, this clearly meant they had faced punishment through their collars in the past two days.
Click-clack!
The moment they saw Fang Hao, the collars started rotating their gears.
This startled both dragons, who immediately shifted their gazes elsewhere, taking deep breaths to compose themselves.
The collars turned twice before gradually coming to a stop.
“My lord,” the four sisters bowed slightly.
“Hmm. Inside the city lies an enemy—join forces and kill him,” Fang Hao stated directly.
“Understood, my lord,” the sisters responded.
The two dragons, however, remained silent, gazing at the sky as they calmed their turbulent emotions.
Fang Hao’s attention turned to the duo. “You should stop dwelling solely on revenge. Beata is already seeking the Dragon Queen. When the time comes, I’ll negotiate with her about this issue and see it resolved reasonably. If so, I’ll release you both.”
The pair furrowed their brows at him.
Their expressions, however, shifted, showing signs of doubt as well as a glimmer of hope.
“For now, you still need to serve me. Together, eliminate the enemies within as quickly as possible,” Fang Hao added.
The two dragons exchanged glances.
The Green Dragon spoke, “Fine. But you must keep your word, negotiate properly with the Dragon Queen, and let us go.”
“Rest assured—I’d have no reason to deceive you,” Fang Hao replied.
The pair of dragon heroes nodded, soaring into the sky, heading toward the city.
The four siblings hefted their warhammers and ran into the city together.
