The old diesel lugger didn’t just vibrate as it crossed the deep blue trench of the fourteen-mile marker; it shuddered from the keel up. Out here, the ocean had ceased to be water. It was a vast, moving plain of ink-black liquid density, churned into violent five-meter crests by the raw, unfiltered mana leaking from the primitive seafloor gates below.

The city of Seoul was a forgotten smudge of dead halogen light buried far behind the horizon, replaced entirely by a heavy, bruised purple sky that seemed to scrape against the top of the ship’s copper exhaust stack.

Down in the low hold, the small oil lamp on the central support beam swung in a wide, rhythmic arc, casting long, liquid shadows across the timber walls. The heat from the copper boiler pipe was intense, forcing thin white feathers of hot steam through the rivet lines that smelled of heavy sea brine, coal soot, and the rich, peppery ginger tea Eun-bi was keeping warm on the stove grate.

Jun-ho sat flat against the cedar storage locker, his large rubber boots caked in a dry, grey salt crust that crackled every time he shifted his weight. The stone-gray slabs of the Ashen Monarch Core Plate were laid flat near his shins, leaving him in just his frayed, form-fitting gray undershirt.

The thin cotton fabric was damp from the salt spray, clinging flat to his chest and highlighting the dense, iron-hard lines of his frame—muscles that had multiplied in absolute mass after the double milestone breakthrough.

His left hand remained loosely wrapped around the rough black hemp wrap of The Ash Remnant, the matte-black blade resting cold against his knees. Right at the lower edge of his vision, the solid black blocks of the ledger script were waiting, perfectly silent.

"The system logic is stabilizing, Jun-ho," Eun-bi’s voice called out from the opposite canvas cot. She had her canvas bag slung tight across her waist, her gray flannel shirt left unbuttoned at the throat because of the suffocating heat of the boiler. Her dark hair was messy, loose strands sticking to her wet forehead, but her sharp face carried that regular, flat public-sector drawl as she held her clipboard under the lamp light.

"But before we hit the reef perimeter, the ledger needs a clear status mapping. If you don’t log the squad’s resource allocation now, the primitive gate framework will treat the vanguards like unregistered intruders."

Jun-ho tilted his head, his dark eyes focusing on the paper lines. "Open the profile sheet."

"The numbers are solid," Jun-ho murmured, his voice low and steady in the small room.

Lilith didn’t look at the clipboard. She moved across the frozen floorboards with a slow, heavy sway of her hips that made the tight crimson leather of her outfit rustle softly against his denim jeans. Her exceptionally long, smooth legs cut a clean line through the dim light, her narrow waist twisting with a deliberate, voluptuous rhythm that accentuated the large, round curve of her fit ass beneath the leather casing.

She walked right up to Jun-ho’s side, her voluptuous frame leaning its entire weight flat against his bare upper arm. Her massive, half-visible chest rose and fell in quick, deep gasps, the tight crimson leather straining against her rounded fullness as she tilted her face up. Her wide crimson eyes glowed with an intense, burning fire under her long ink-black hair, her full red lips parting into a low, breathless murmur right against his neck.

"The registry is locked, big guy," Lilith whispered, her voice a deep, velvety purr that trembled with a sudden, fierce devotion. Her long fingers, tipped with sharp crimson nails, slid slowly up his bare arm, her palms burning hot against his cool skin. "My spirit belongs to your ribs now, Jun-ho. Let the little nurse count her columns—I want to watch you break the ancient coral vault from the inside of this cabin."

She was completely unraveled. The raw, absolute density of his Phase 3 framework had broken her primitive demon defenses, forcing her to press her large chest flat against his arm with a submissive, desperate hunger that made her skin flush a soft, hot pink color under the lamp.

"The room is small, Lilith," Jun-ho said quietly. He didn’t pull his arm back an inch, his large right hand reaching out naturally to catch the smooth, soft curve of her narrow waist under the leather line.

"It’s too small for a demon who doesn’t know how to keep her leather straps on her own bench," Eun-bi’s sharp, furious voice barked from the opposite cot, her fingers tightening around her silver trauma scissors with an intense, biting jealousy.

She walked two long steps across the narrow aisle, jamming her heavy rubber boot directly between Lilith’s leather trousers and the side of Jun-ho’s jeans. Her bare thigh pressed hard against his shins for stability as the boat hit a larger swell. "The database log is still running the core synchronization, Jun-ho. If you let this broker crowd the track with her hair and her incense, the system will trace the mana displacement before we can even clear the drainage outlet."

Rea slid off the secondary workbench with a slow, fluid stride that made the high-slashed silk of her black tunic rustle loudly against her long bare legs. Her golden-blue eyes spun slowly in a lazy, dangerous circle, her full crimson lips tightening into a thin, jealous line as she wedged her own voluptuous hourglass shape tight against Jun-ho’s opposite sleeve, her wild orchid perfume cutting sharp through Lilith’s sulfur incense.

"The little nurse is right about the timer, big guy," Rea murmured, her bare arm rubbing against his shirt fabric with a heavy, possessive friction that made his skin prickle. "The demon girl is a bit too forward with her placement. She thinks because she signed the soul bind she owns the whole ledger line."

Lilith let out a low, dangerous growl through her teeth, her crimson eyes flaring with a dark fire as her voluptuous hips leaned even harder into Jun-ho’s side, her large chest pressing flat against his ribs to mark her territory. "The book has already locked my spirit to his chest, water girl. My hand is locked to his line, and the room down here doesn’t check the size of your scissors."

Before the argument could break the wood panels, the cabin door was thrown wide open by Tae-woo’s heavy iron hand.

"The gate perimeter is visible through the mist, boss!" the big vanguard called out, his broken nose bleeding slightly from the raw atmospheric pressure outside. "The first sealed offshore gate—The Siding of the Leviathan—is directly under the bow rail! The high-density maritime waves are hitting the timber hull hard!"
