Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 561. The Future Situation, the Mysterious Small World

Inside the hall, the great sun trembled as streaks of blazing radiance burst from it. The power surging outward made the entire hall shake.

Below, Jiang Taiyu and the others continued pouring their bloodline power into it. Formidable auras rose from them, and beads of sweat gathered on every forehead.

Clearly, this was not an easy matter even for them. Even so, they did not stop.

Only when the radiance of that great sun reached its peak and a majestic aura emerged from it did Jiang Taiyu finally open his eyes and slowly withdraw his power.

The other Jiang Clan elders all did the same.

Everyone rose. Jiang Taiyu walked over to Lu Yuan and took a deep breath. "This foundation was left behind by our ancestor, but even we do not know its exact purpose. Our ancestor left word that whoever opened it would possess the power to turn the tide during a great crisis.

"However, too much time has passed. Awakening it now requires the power of our bloodline, and that is only the first step. Whether it truly opens will depend on you."

Beside him, the Jiang Clan elders remained silent and said nothing.

Lu Yuan already understood. In all these long years, the Jiang Clan must have tried to use this foundation many times.

It had been left behind by the Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor. Anyone would know it must contain extraordinary power.

However, no one had probably ever opened it completely. Otherwise, Jiang Taiyu and those Jiang Clan elders would not have such expressions.

"Understood." Lu Yuan did not say much and asked directly, "What should I do?"

"Enter the great sun. You will know for yourself whether you can open the foundation," one Jiang Clan elder explained.

Although he had many objections to letting an outsider attempt to open the foundation left behind by their ancestor, matters had reached this point, so there was nothing more to say. Besides, the entire cosmos was now in quite a severe situation.

More importantly, the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were still eyeing them. Even the Starfield Lord of the Mohe Clan had fallen. One could imagine what would happen once those beings truly descended.

No matter what, when it came to Lu Yuan, they had no choice but to admit that he was a true prodigy, someone who could cultivate to this point in such a short time.

Even at their advanced age, they had never seen anyone like him. Perhaps he really could open the foundation left behind by their ancestor.

In the current situation, there was no need to fuss over certain things anymore.

"All right." Lu Yuan understood what he had to do.

He immediately looked toward Jiang Taiyu, who also nodded.

Lu Yuan said nothing more. He looked at that great sun and took a step forward.

In the next instant, he vanished from the great hall, and even his aura could no longer be sensed. It was as though he had stepped into another space.

"Do you think he really can open the foundation left behind by our ancestor?" another clan elder asked.

A hint of hope actually appeared in his eyes.

As a clan elder, although he had not left the Desolate Flame Starfield, he understood the outside situation and the crisis they were about to face perfectly well.

If Lu Yuan opened the foundation and obtained the power left behind by their ancestor, his talent and formidable strength would give them another powerful defender when the coming crisis erupted.

After hearing this, Jiang Taiyu did not answer immediately. He took a deep breath before saying, "I don't know either. But having hope is far better than having none, is it not?"

He was perfectly aware that after so many attempts, the foundation left behind by their ancestor had shown no movement at all.

Their hopes were therefore slim, perhaps almost nonexistent.

Even so, Jiang Taiyu still felt that perhaps Lu Yuan could create a miracle.

Jiang Taiyu asked the clan elders to wait with him. No one knew how long the process would take, but time was hardly a concern for those present, especially at such a critical juncture.

However, Jiang Taiyu soon received news about the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

Those powerful beings seemed to have appeared in other starfields, and their purpose was unknown.

The Starfield Lords of the other starfields intended to gather their forces and had invited him to go with them. Among them were the Starfield Lords of the Sukhāvatī Starfield and the Sky Dragon Starfield.

Thus, after giving instructions to the clan elders beside him, he left.

"The situation in the universe really is about to change," one clan elder said as he watched Jiang Taiyu depart.

They had always lived in a relatively peaceful age, but the ancient records made it clear that a tremendous crisis had long loomed over the universe. They had to remain vigilant even in times of peace. Now that the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had appeared, everyone knew those peaceful days were over.

Whether they could survive the coming disaster remained uncertain. If they failed, it would become a calamity in the truest sense.

Immediately, everyone stopped speaking and sat cross-legged where they were to wait.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan had already entered that great sun.

Everything before him was a vast expanse of white. Yet there was none of the scorching heat he had expected; it felt no different from the world outside.

The problem was that after stepping into this great sun, he discovered that there was essentially nothing around him. Even when he spread out his divine sense, it still had no effect.

It was as though heaven and earth did not exist. Calling this a small world did not seem right either. Not even spatial laws existed here.

Lu Yuan also discovered that his Creation power was of little use here, while the rest of his strength had been suppressed. It had not vanished, but within this strange environment, he was little different from an ordinary person.

If he advanced with all his strength, he originally could have crossed the distance of an entire Earth in an instant. But here, it seemed to make no difference at all, as though heaven and earth had not yet been created.

Questions filled Lu Yuan's mind. He even suspected that he had entered some unknown realm.

Fortunately, within his perception, he could leave this place at any time if he wished.

But clearly, that was not what Lu Yuan wanted.
