Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle
Chapter 1310: The Perfect Pet
"If you’re looking for something that can grow alongside her, I recommend some of these eggs."
The shopkeeper pointed toward several shelves...
Aera immediately followed her.
Asad walked behind them, quietly observing the different eggs.
There were far more varieties than he had expected.
Some were displayed inside glass containers, while others were placed on special stands surrounded by protective devices...
The shopkeeper picked up the first egg.
"This one is relatively inexpensive and easy to raise."
She placed it carefully on the counter.
The egg was covered in dark green scales, and several small spikes protruded from its surface.
Without hesitation, Aera used Appraisal.

Aera tilted her head as she saw the picture of the lizard beside the egg.
"It looks cute."
"It’s a lizard covered in poisonous spikes." Asad replied.
"But it’s still cute."
"You have strange standards."
Aera ignored him and asked. "How much is it?"
"Fifty-five low-grade Spirit Stones only..."
Aera’s eyes widened.
"That’s not too expensive."
"It isn’t," the shopkeeper said. "This is one of our cheaper eggs."
Asad nodded.
"It also doesn’t seem particularly troublesome to raise."
"That’s why it’s popular among Survivors who didn’t want to have to spend too much on their pets..."
Aera looked at the egg for a few seconds before shaking her head.
"I’ll consider it... But it’s too ordinary."
"You just called it cute." Asad muttered.
"I can think something is cute without wanting to raise it."
"Fair enough."
The shopkeeper smiled and picked up another egg.
"This one might interest you more."
This egg was considerably larger.
Its shell was gray and covered in strange black markings that seemed to move whenever the light touched them.

"It eats Zombie Cores?"
The shopkeeper nodded.
"Yes. It can survive on ordinary corpses, but Zombie Cores are much better for its growth."
Asad looked at the egg.
"How much?"
"Three hundred Spirit Stones..."
Aera’s excitement disappeared immediately.
"Rare monster eggs are naturally more expensive."
Asad wasn’t particularly surprised.
Zombie Cores were also valuable resources, especially since they could be used for various purposes.
A pet that consumed one every two days would eventually become an expensive companion.
Aera shook her head.
"No. That’s too expensive... Feeding it might be doable, but..."
Asad glanced at her.
"At least you’re thinking about the upkeep. I can buy the egg, though. Don’t worry about the price. Do you want it?"
"Uhm... Let me see the others first. I also don’t want a pet that’s going to eat all my money."
The shopkeeper laughed.
"That’s a wise decision."
She placed the egg back and walked toward another shelf.
"This one is much easier to maintain."
She picked up a small blue egg.
It was almost completely smooth, with tiny patterns resembling waves across its surface.

Aera’s eyes brightened again.
"This one is cute... It also has practical abilities."
The shopkeeper smiled.
"That’s why this species is popular. They aren’t particularly powerful, but they are excellent companions. They can help produce clean water and can even provide minor healing."
"How much?"
"Just two hundred twenty Spirit Stones this time... Well... The one beside it might also be worth considering if you’re looking for something more combat-oriented."
The next egg was black and covered in faint purple veins.
The moment Asad saw it, he could feel a weak spiritual fluctuation coming from inside.

Aera stared at the description as she immediately imagined her figure...
"It eats Spirit Stones?"
"Yes." The shopkeeper replied without hesitation.
"Every day?"
"Yes."
"How much for this one?"
"Two hundred eighty Spirit Stones."
Aera immediately placed both hands over her stomach.
"No."
Asad laughed as he could understand what she was thinking...
"Right..."
"Yeah! That’s too expensive! Why are they so expensive? How could Sir Shane have multiple of them at once? He even had those powerful ones..."
Asad had no reply to that... He knew that Aera was also aware that Shane was probably the richest person right now.
Nonetheless, the shopkeeper could now tell that it was Asad who would be paying for the egg... Knowing that, she knew that she just had to convince the woman with her negotiation skills...
"How about this one, Miss? This will be very beautiful if it stays beside you."
She picked up a pale red egg and showed it to the couple.
