Chapter 721: Chapter 503: The Furnace of All Things Reappears in the World
Having said his piece, Agrean lingered no longer.
He rose to his feet. With eyes burning with the flames of revenge, he took one last look at this world before striding resolutely into the pitch-black rift leading to the Abyssal plane.
The moment he stepped into the rift, his body was utterly consumed by the endless darkness.
Raylo watched the rift in silence.
"Coal Ball,"
he said.
"Awoo?"
Coal Ball raised its head.
"I want you to ’collect’ this rift,"
Raylo said.
"It will be our... stable spatial passage to contact Agrean."
"Awoof!"
Coal Ball tilted its head back again and opened its little mouth.
HUMMM!
A spatial ripple emanated from it, expanding outward in an instant!
Then, just as it had before, the phantom of the Space Giant Dragon appeared and swallowed the spatial rift in a single gulp.
Having done all this, Coal Ball hopped back onto Raylo’s shoulder.
Raylo smiled and rubbed its little head.
"Alright, our work here is done."
Raylo turned and looked toward the Black King and Gordo.
"Black King, lead your Magical Beast Legion back to the Black Stone Mountain Range."
"Gordo, you and the Giant Legion will also return to Black Stone City to rest and regroup."
"Yes, Master!"
"Yes, Sir!"
The two replied in unison.
Raylo lingered no longer. With his small companions in tow, he once again stepped through the spatial rift that Coal Ball had temporarily opened, returning to Black Stone City.
...
「Back in Black Stone City.」
Raylo had Coal Ball establish a spatial rift in the main square of Black Stone City leading to Thunder Dragon City, facilitating the transfer of messages and personnel between the two cities.
Just as Raylo and Gaius were returning from Thunder Dragon City through the spatial rift on the square, a Knight came rushing over from the Alchemy Workshop.
"Sir!"
"Master Carl sent me to report some good news!"
"After three days and three nights of tireless effort from the twelve Legendary Masters..."
"The puzzle on the door... has finally been solved!"
’Three days?’
Raylo paused for a moment before it dawned on him.
’I’ve been so busy dealing with the Jade Swamp incident, traveling back and forth through spatial rifts, that my sense of time has become blurred.’
’But for everyone else in Black Stone City, a full three days had passed since the twelve Legendary Mages first assembled.’
’Three days and three nights, without sleep or rest.’
"Let’s go take a look!"
Excitement surged through Raylo as well.
He strode into the workshop to find the twelve Legendary Mages gathered before the great metal door, having reached the final stage of opening it.
HUMMM...
As if sensing something, the Alchemy Runes on the door, which had been flowing slowly like constellations tracing their paths, suddenly blazed with a brilliant light!
Immediately after,
CLICK... CLICK-CLACK...
A series of crisp sounds, like turning gears and interlocking mechanisms, echoed continuously from within the great door.
The great metal door, which had lain dormant for a century, finally... stirred!
Across the door’s surface, countless intricate patterns began to light up one by one, like newly awakened veins.
The silver Power of Space, the golden Power of Time, the green Power of Life, the gray Power of Death, the red Flame Power...
Law Power of all different attributes intertwined and flowed across the door, finally converging at its very center.
There, a circular lock core slowly emerged from within the door.
As the lock core appeared, the crisp mechanical sounds grew more frequent and much louder.
RUMBLE...
With a deep, muffled boom,
the impossibly heavy metal door slowly began to part, a gap opening between its two halves with a screech of grinding metal.
A soft white light shone out from the widening gap, brightly illuminating the entire Alchemy Workshop.
The door was open!
Raylo’s breath caught in his throat.
He fixed his gaze on the ever-widening gap, his heart hammering in his chest against his will.
Finally, the great door swung fully open.
The scene behind it was revealed in its entirety.
Beyond the door lay a vast space several times larger than the Alchemy Workshop itself.
The vaulted ceiling was inlaid with over a thousand star-like Magic Crystals, which cast a soft, brilliant radiance that illuminated the entire space as if it were day.
The floor, paved with an unknown metal as smooth as a mirror, was inscribed with a vast and complex Array that resembled a star map.
And in the very center of this space,
a colossal Melting Furnace stood silently. It was dozens of meters tall, forged entirely from a strange alloy, its design both ancient and magnificent.
The Melting Furnace was wider at its base and tapered toward the top. Its body was covered in countless Energy Circuits and arcane runes, each one finer than a human hair.
At the top of the Melting Furnace was a huge, crater-like opening, which currently emitted a faint, ethereal glow.
The Furnace of All Things!
This was it—the greatest masterpiece of Phillips, the Legendary Alchemy Master, the culmination of his life’s work!
GULP.
Raylo swallowed hard.
Beside him, Master Barnaby was already gaping, utterly dumbfounded.
Ahead, the twelve Legendary Mages stood in silence, yet an unprecedented light of excitement and fanaticism gleamed in each of their eyes.
Their gazes never left the colossal Furnace of All Things, as if it were the most mesmerizing treasure in the world.
