Chapter 150: A Feast of Historical Proportions

The convoy passed through the teleportation array of Dawn Harbor, and the eternal, tranquil moonlight of Silvermoon City once again fell upon them like a gentle silver shroud.

The carriage came to a steady halt. From the outside, an attendant respectfully pulled the door open.

Queen Elaniel was the first to descend, her magnificent gown sweeping an elegant silver arc under the moonlight. At the palace entrance, the Chamberlain and a retinue of Court Mages, who had been waiting for some time, bowed in perfect unison, their hands placed over their hearts. The synchronized movement lent the entire scene a solemn and dignified air.

“Miss Celeste, if you please.”

The Queen turned back, extending an inviting hand toward Celeste and her three companions still inside the carriage. A lazy, alluring smile played on her lips. Her demeanor wasn’t that of a monarch greeting a distinguished guest, but rather a close friend welcoming another home.

Celeste and her companions exchanged a look before stepping out of the carriage one by one.

The moment their figures appeared at the palace entrance, a collective, sharp intake of breath hitched in the throats of the stoic Elven attendants.

Instantly, all eyes focused on Celeste alone.

Within those gazes, a torrent of emotions churned—awe, fanaticism, and adoration, all mixed with a trace of pure, unadulterated curiosity that could not be concealed.

Everything that had transpired on the Frost Trail had already been relayed to Silvermoon City ahead of their arrival, sent via the mages’ magical transmissions. This included the miraculous recording, a visual account worthy of being etched into the annals of history.

A Starfall that annihilated a demonic horde.

A single shield that held back the crushing weight of an entire mountain of snow.

These were the kinds of outrageous scenes previously confined to ancient mythological epics, now brought to life before their very eyes. And the one who had orchestrated these miracles was the pink-haired human girl standing before them, who currently looked a bit tired and even let out a lazy, unbothered yawn.

The sheer visual and auditory impact was so immense that every elf who had seen the battle report felt as if their worldview had been shattered, ground into dust, and then scattered to the winds.

“Everyone, go and prepare,” Elaniel commanded, waving a dismissive hand at the Chamberlain. “Prepare the banquet as I instructed.”

She paused for a moment, then added, “Also, have the Royal Chef bring out his finest hidden techniques. Especially the Sunfire Fruit Roasted Venison; prepare plenty of it.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

The Chamberlain bowed respectfully and immediately turned to see to the arrangements.

“Let’s go, everyone.” Elaniel turned and led Celeste and her companions deeper into the palace. “I’ll take you to your guest rooms to settle in first. You can wash up and change. The banquet will take a little while to prepare.”

Eldara followed silently, half a step behind the Queen, her aura restrained, a loyal shadow guarding her monarch.

The guest rooms the palace had prepared for them were the very definition of luxury.

Each room was spacious and bright, complete with a private terrace that overlooked the glittering nightscape of the royal city. The furniture within was all naturally grown from Living Ancient Wood, which radiated a faint breath of life and felt warm to the touch.

Celeste walked into her assigned room, and her gaze was instantly locked onto the soft, massive bed—a veritable cloud of linen and down large enough for four or five people to sleep on.

She practically pounced.

“Ah… a bed… I’m alive again…”

Sinking into the bedding spread-eagled, Celeste let out a groan of pure, unadulterated bliss, as if her very soul was melting into the mattress. Right now, she didn’t want to do anything. She just wanted to lie on this bed until the end of time.

“Sister! Get up! Go take a bath first!”

Selene, who had followed her in, didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at her sister’s complete regression into a salted fish. She tugged at Celeste’s arm, trying to pull her from the bed’s embrace.

“A Cleansing Spell would fix everything… just let me slump here for a bit…” Celeste waved a hand feebly.

“A Cleansing Spell can remove stains, but that’s just cleaning, not relaxing!” Selene retorted, her argument filled with righteous indignation. “This is the Elven Royal Palace! The Royal Washroom! We’re talking about the legendary bathtub carved from a single block of Moonstone, with water drawn from the spring of the ancient tree of life! Don’t you want to experience the decadent life of the elven royalty?!”

“I get it, I get it…”

At the mention of a “decadent life,” a spark of interest finally ignited in Celeste’s eyes. She reluctantly allowed her sister to drag her toward the washroom on the other side of the suite.

Inside, a huge bathtub carved from a single piece of Moonstone emitted a soft, pearlescent glow. Warm spring water murmured as it flowed from an exquisitely carved beast-head spout. Unknown flower petals floated on the surface, releasing a fragrant, soothing steam.

After a long, comfortable soak and changing into the soft silk loungewear brought by an Elven maid, Celeste felt like her depleted health bar had finally been restored by nearly half.

When Selene finally pulled her into the banquet hall, she was completely stunned by the sight that greeted her.

This wasn’t just a banquet; it was a spectacle on the level of a state dinner.

Above, across the vast ceiling of the hall, a dazzling magical river of stars flowed slowly, its light and shadows intertwining in a captivating dance. Below, on an impossibly long dining table carved from a single piece of thousand-year-old ancient wood, sat an array of dishes so exquisite one would hardly dare to eat them.

Shimmering Mushrooms had been artfully shaped into the form of running fawns. Fresh vegetables, cooked in clear dew, emitted an inviting fragrance. A dazzling array of colorful jams and pastries were arranged like jewels.

And in the very center of the table, occupying the most prominent position, were three large platters piled high like small mountains, sizzling with rendered fat and releasing the rich, intoxicating aroma of roasted meat!

The meat was cut into uniform chunks, its outer skin roasted to a tempting caramel brown and sprinkled with fine spices that glittered with tiny red points of light. An overpowering aroma, a perfect fusion of fruitwood smoke and savory fat, rushed straight to her head.

The two sisters, Celeste and Selene, swallowed their saliva in perfect, audible unison.

“Miss Celeste, please, have a seat.”

Queen Elaniel, already seated at the head of the table, smiled and waved them over. At the table, besides the four of them, only the Queen and Eldara were present. Clearly, this was a private banquet held specifically in their honor.

“Don’t be so formal. Please, act as if you’re in your own home.” Elaniel picked up a crystal glass filled with an amber liquid and raised it in a toast to Celeste. “To celebrate our shared victory, and to thank you for your aid.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Celeste and her companions replied, raising their own glasses.

The fruit wine was sweet and mellow, gliding smoothly down the throat with a perfect hint of coolness that was utterly refreshing.

After the simple opening remarks, Selene was the first to grow restless, her eyes burning as she stared at the platters of roasted meat.

“Um… Your Majesty, can we start?”

“Of course,” Elaniel said, clearly amused by the girl’s little gluttonous display. “Please, help yourselves.”

The moment she received permission, Selene speared a piece of the nearest roasted venison with her fork and stuffed it into her mouth without a second thought.

“Mmm! Ish delishious!” she praised, her words muffled by the food. Her eyes instantly widened, sparkling with pure happiness. “The skin is crispy, and the meat inside is so tender and juicy! And there’s this sweet, fruity scent! Sister! You have to try this!”

Celeste didn’t hold back either. She forked a piece and popped it into her mouth.

The moment the meat entered her mouth, the scalding juices, perfectly locked beneath the crispy skin, exploded across her tongue. The unique sweetness of the Sunfire Fruit branches had perfectly neutralized the slight gamey taste of the venison, leaving only the purest, most deep aroma of the meat itself. Combined with the unknown spices, the texture was elevated to a whole new dimension.

‘Holy crap! This flavor! It’s unreal!’Celeste felt her weary soul ascending, sublimated by the impact of this single bite of roasted meat.’Even with Xiangling’s god-tier culinary skills, I don’t think she could make roasted meat on this level…’she calculated rapidly in her mind.’No, no matter how much of a genius Xiangling is, she’s still just a teenage girl. This Elven Royal Chef has probably been cooking for hundreds, if not thousands, of years!”This isn’t a culinary duel; this is the sheer, overwhelming power of time itself! What I’m eating isn’t just roast meat—it’s the deep weight of history!’

With that realization, she completely let herself go. She and Selene transformed into ravenous gluttons, launching a frantic assault on the roasted meat piled on the table.

Su Wan and Xia Lian were a bit more reserved at first, taking small, polite bites of the exquisite vegetarian dishes. But after witnessing the Lin sisters’ completely unrefined table manners, and noticing the Queen’s interested, non-judgmental gaze, they finally couldn’t resist the temptation. They each carefully forked a small piece of roasted meat.

And then, they too succumbed.

For a time, the only sounds in the grand banquet hall were the crisp clinking of cutlery against plates and the satisfied, enthusiastic chewing of the four girls.

Eldara maintained her eternally ice-cold expression, taking small bites of a vegetable salad as if she had no interest in the delicious roasted meat. But Celeste’s sharp eyes noticed that the death knight’s crimson gaze couldn’t help but flick toward the venison, and the frequency of those glances was increasing.

‘If you want some, just eat it. Why act so aloof?’Celeste complained internally.’You’re a knight; you can’t possibly survive on just vegetables, can you?’

Elaniel simply smiled through it all, taking small sips of her fruit wine, her eyes filled with a doting affection as she watched the four of them eat their fill. She felt that this was probably the liveliest and happiest meal she had eaten since becoming Queen.

After they had their fill of food and wine, the scene was one of utter devastation.

The three mountain-like platters of roasted meat had been swept clean, with not even a scrap left behind.

Celeste and Selene slumped back in their chairs in satisfaction, patting their round bellies. A synchronized buuurp escaped their lips.

“Ah… much better…” Celeste let out a long, contented breath. She straightened up, her expression suddenly serious. “Now,” she announced with the gravity of a philosopher, “I am ready to contemplate the truths of the universe.”

“Pfft!” Elaniel finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.

The banquet, where both hosts and guests had a wonderful time, finally came to an end.

Maids led Celeste and her three companions back to their respective guest rooms. Celeste felt like her battery was already eighty percent charged; the remaining twenty percent just required a sound sleep to replenish.

She threw herself back onto the soft bed, pulled the covers over her head, and fell asleep in seconds.

She slept incredibly soundly, a deep and dreamless slumber.

When she opened her eyes again, the eternal moonlight outside the window was still shining brightly. She glanced at the uniquely shaped Magic Hourglass in the room and realized she had actually slept for a full twelve hours.

“That was a great sleep…”

Celeste stretched, feeling a satisfying series of cracks run up and down her spine. That persistent, bone-deep exhaustion had completely vanished. In its place was a refreshing clarity, a feeling of being fully revitalized.

Just then, a gentle knock sounded at the door.

“Miss Celeste, are you awake?” a maid’s respectful voice called from outside. “Her Majesty the Queen requests your presence.”

“Oh? The real business is about to begin.”

Celeste’s spirits lifted, and she leaped out of bed. She knew that now that she had eaten her fill and slept soundly, it was time to fulfill that agreement for a “private chat.”
