Chapter 434: Chapter 436: Brother...

Genshin Impact: I’m The Envoy of Snezhnaya

Chapter 436: Brother...

"These are the documents I compiled recently. Please review them, Lord Harbinger."

In their new room, Anastasia respectfully handed over a stack of papers as she spoke.

These documents had been specially prepared after her return from the Knights of Favonius headquarters.

They contained her proposed methods for carrying out Bai Luo’s plans, as well as reports on various matters.

Although Bai Luo had explicitly stated that he didn’t need to personally review such things, Anastasia felt it was her duty to organize them properly so as not to betray Lord Harbinger’s trust.

"You know what you’re doing. That’s enough."

Listening to the constant banging and hammering sounds coming from outside, Bai Luo casually waved a hand and replied indifferently.

Ironically, this very attitude was one of the reasons Anastasia felt so trusted by him.

As for the noise outside, it was a consequence of the earlier battle.

Fortunately, Bai Luo had realized Dvalin’s intentions in time and diverted the dragon’s attention.

As a result, the Goth Grand Hotel hadn’t suffered too much damage.

Aside from Bai Luo’s room, only the windows needed repairs.

Compared to the hotel, however, the Knights of Favonius headquarters had suffered far greater losses.

Dvalin’s furious strike wasn’t something an ordinary building could withstand.

At this point, the problem could no longer be solved with simple renovations.

Several architects had already suggested that the structure might need to be rebuilt entirely.

"By the way, where did that outsider go after the battle?"

Compared to all those reports, that was what Bai Luo actually cared about.

When he went looking for Lumine after the battle, she was nowhere to be found in the plaza.

Given the Traveler’s special status, Bai Luo felt it would be best to put a "mark" on her as soon as possible.

"As for the outsider, we haven’t been able to determine her exact whereabouts. However, according to reports from our agents, she was taken away by Mondstadt’s Outrider. She may currently be staying at that knight’s home."

Anastasia sounded uncertain.

Under those circumstances, their agents had no opportunity to approach Lumine directly. This was the best information they could gather.

"I see. Good work."

After offering a respectful bow, Anastasia quietly left the room.

Bai Luo’s gaze shifted toward Jianna, who was standing nearby with an unusually obedient expression.

His attention then turned toward the pigeon perched on her shoulder.

This little thing...

It looked strangely familiar.

Had he seen it somewhere before?

Maybe around Timmy?

"Where’d the pigeon come from?"

"It... it fell from the sky."

Fidgeting nervously with her fingers, Jianna looked worried.

She was afraid Lord Harbinger might decide to take the pigeon away from her.

"You want to keep it?"

A peculiar expression appeared on Bai Luo’s face.

"Mm. Is that okay?"

"I suppose it’s not impossible..."

Bai Luo glanced at the tiny floating spirit inside Jianna’s Mist Grass Wick.

Compared to before, it seemed even smaller and younger.

He couldn’t help but wonder whether this girl was actually capable of keeping a pigeon alive.

After all, nobody even knew how many generations of fireflies had already died inside that lamp.

At this rate, in a few days he might end up eating Sweet Madame made from this pigeon.

"Don’t go wandering around outside lately. Stay in the hotel. I need to go somewhere."

"Y-You’re not taking me with you?"

"No. Just fatten up the pigeon and wait for me to come back."

. . .

"Give my brother back to me!"

The blood-red cubes gradually filled her vision.

Lumine finally jolted awake from her dream.

"Ah, you’re awake."

Amber, who had been dozing beside her bed, immediately perked up.

She quickly picked up a cup of tea that was still warm and brought it over to her.

"What happened to me...?"

Holding a hand to her forehead, Lumine slowly sat up in bed, looking somewhat dazed.

Then a sharp pain shot through her backside.

"Don’t worry. You were just injured when you fell from the sky. It’s nothing too serious."

Amber gently placed a pillow behind Lumine’s back and explained.

After all, falling from such a height would inevitably cause some injuries, even with Jean helping to cushion the fall.

Compared to dying on impact, however, this outcome was already quite fortunate.

"Actually, this is partly my fault. I should’ve given you the Wind Glider first before going to find Jean."

After handing Lumine a cup of tea, Amber apologized somewhat sheepishly.

She had originally intended to give Lumine the "gift" as soon as possible.

However, she had been too concerned about the missing-person notices and figured it would be fine to do it a little later.

She never expected Stormterror to attack Mondstadt at precisely that moment.

"No, it’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have been standing in the plaza in the first place."

The Knights had indeed warned her at the time.

She simply hadn’t taken their warning seriously.

If she had listened to them, then she and Paimon—

"Right, where’s Paimon?"

Only then did Lumine realize the familiar sound of Paimon’s chatter and crying was missing.

"After I treated her to some Sticky Honey Roast yesterday, she stayed by your side all night. She only fell asleep a little while ago."

Amber pointed beside the bed.

There, Paimon was sleeping soundly.

She hadn’t even noticed that Lumine had already woken up.

Seeing that the little companion was safe and unharmed, Lumine finally relaxed.

Come to think of it...

Why had she fainted?

Suppressing the lingering dizziness, Lumine carefully recalled what had happened.

And then—

"Brother..."

Her breathing became rapid once again.

The hand resting on the bed clenched the sheets tightly.

There was no mistake.

When the black-clad man had raised his hand to strike down the dragon, she had sensed her brother’s presence.

And it had been incredibly clear.

That was why she had been unable to bear it and lost consciousness.

"Brother?"

"Sorry. I just remembered something."

Lumine didn’t tell the Outrider everything.

It wasn’t that she distrusted Amber.

Rather, the matter was connected to a mysterious god she knew almost nothing about.

To be safe, she had no intention of revealing those details until she fully understood the situation.

"At a time like this, it’s better not to think too much about complicated things. Stormterror’s problem has been resolved. Once you’ve recovered, I’ll take you around the city. How does that sound?"

Amber was a perceptive person.

She could tell that Lumine was hiding something.

However, everyone had their own secrets, and she didn’t mind.

In fact, if Lumine had immediately trusted her completely and told her everything, Amber would probably have suspected she had ulterior motives.

"By the way, you must be hungry, right? Wait here. I’ll go make you something to eat."

Taking Lumine’s cup, Amber hadn’t forgotten that Lumine hadn’t eaten anything during her entire period of unconsciousness.

As always, the enthusiastic Outrider rushed out like a rabbit that never seemed capable of sitting still.

She didn’t even worry that Lumine might steal anything from her house.

But compared to food, what occupied Lumine’s thoughts was the mysterious man whom Paimon feared so much.

And what she couldn’t possibly know was that the very same mysterious man was currently watching her from the shadows.
