Chapter 255 : After Passing, the Interview (3)
After Passing, the Interview (3)
The Team Perfect meeting wrapped up smoothly.
"Alright, let's conclude OTP matters here."
At the words of the final decider, Lee Gyeongbok, everyone clapped their hands lightly.
"Okay!"
"I'll summarize the notice and post it in the group chat."
"Ah, I'm really looking forward to this again."
"If I was just a bit better with guns, I would have applied!"
All five got up from their seats. But today's schedule wasn't over yet.
"Well then, let's go celebrate Madman joining the company."
A welcome dinner for the newly hired Madman was planned. They headed straight to the place Park Juho had reserved.
"This is the place most famous for pizza and beer."
The main guest of the dinner, madman, had chosen pizza and beer for the menu. As they were guided to their seats, Jo Daehan spoke in an excited voice.
"Wow, it's been ages since I had pizza."
"... Really?"
Madman unknowingly blurted out. The question mark was almost visibly floating above her face.
Jo Daehan laughed awkwardly at her gaze.
"Oh, it's just that I wasn't used to eating pizza growing up. Instead, we had a lot of Korean pancakes or kimchi pancakes. Whenever it rained, my father would open a bottle of rice wine with my mom."
"Hm. Your father was American, right?"
Madman asked in a way that made it hard to tell if she was joking or not, and everyone chuckled.
"My father often had pizza and hamburgers when he was in America. The reason he doesn't eat it now is..."
Jo Daehan paused briefly and pointed at the menu.
"It's just that pizza is really expensive in Korea, apparently. That made him avoid it even more."
"Ah, that's true. If you don't get a discount in Korea, it's just not worth it."
Choi Byeonghun nodded in agreement. Lee Gyeongbok waved his hand with a smile.
"Still, today's a company dinner, so feel free to order as much as you want."
"Kkuh... that's our CEO for you!"
"Definitely sounds like someone who's going to eat the most."
"Hey! I'm counting how many slices you eat."
"Your stomach's big but your appetite's small."
"What'd you say!?"
The playful banter between Park Juho and Choi Byeonghun made the atmosphere even more relaxed. Madman, too, found a smile on her lips.
While they chatted, the pizza they had ordered arrived. All five filled their glasses with beer.
"To Madman's new job, cheers!"
"Congratulations!"
"Thank you!"
Under Lee Gyeongbok's lead, they toasted and began their meal. Light jokes continued as the pizza slices gradually disappeared.
"Hey, you really joined at a good time."
Midway through, Choi Byeonghun said to Madman with a smile.
"A good time?"
"Yeah. If things go well, you probably won't stay the youngest very long. Daehan here was the newbie for over a month."
"Hey, it's not like there's much extra work just for the newbie anyway."
Jo Daehan munched his pizza and waved it off. Madman asked back, puzzled.
"Is someone else coming in?"
"Oh, it's not confirmed. There's another recruitment candidate."
Lee Gyeongbok explained.
"We're actually considering launching merchandise, too. Ah, I should show you this first."
He showed her a picture of a figure saved on his smartlink.
"Whoa! What's this?"
Madman's eyes widened. She was surprised by the quality, but what caught her eye was something else.
"This is a Glock, right? Third gen? No, fourth gen—wow, wow, it's really crazy detailed. Usually, you can't tell the difference at a glance like this. Are you actually selling these?"
She excitedly chattered, staring at the gun held by the figure. The others' eyes grew round at the sight, Lee Gyeongbok's included.
"Wow, your username fits you."
Choi Byeonghun let out a small laugh, prompting Madman to grin awkwardly.
"Haha, this detail is insane. But if it's this level, mass production must be tough..."
At her concern, Park Juho nodded.
"Yes, that's why we're thinking hard about it. Even if we accept a small-batch custom order, it'll take quite a while. The maker must have originally crafted it just for Gyeongbok."
"But if it were released as merchandise, there'd be a ton of orders! With your popularity, Mr. CEO, they'd sell out no question."
At Jo Daehan's comment, Lee Gyeongbok smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well, you never know until you actually try to sell them. Even to my untrained eyes, this quality would justify a high price."
"Hey, you know how many successful people we have among our viewers. Worrying like that is just Deceit."
"Well, it's because I believe there'll be buyers that I'm considering it at all. That's why it's such a dilemma. I need to find a solution before I can make a proposal to the creator."
Madman, who'd been listening, rolled her eyes thoughtfully.
"Um, it's not a figure, but I collect model guns, you see?"
Her comment shifted everyone's attention to her. Having organized her thoughts, madman continued.
"It's not just finished pieces—I buy parts separately, too. Customizing guns is part of the fun. But these parts and accessories have compatibility issues."
"Each gun has its own attachments?"
"Yeah. Specifications are different, or sometimes the balance is off. To explain it all would be complicated, but basically, there are times you want to attach something and just can't."
The reason she suddenly brought up model guns and parts wasn't to boast.
"In those cases, I have an alternative. I design the part I want to fit the specs, and there are companies that take commissions to make them."
"Production, you mean?"
"Yes. These days, 3D printers are so advanced that with just a design, you can do a fair amount of mass production."
At this, Park Juho and Choi Byeonghun's eyes sparkled.
"Oh? That doesn't sound bad. Remember the mask Capsule made for the unboxing last time? That was 3D printed by Reality, wasn't it?"
"Oh, right. The quality was pretty solid."
"If the designer makes the design and leaves the production to a company, maybe we can handle order volume that way. The quality might not match handmade, but still."
"So, it's sort of a compromise between quality and mass production?"
At Jo Daehan's remark, Lee Gyeongbok inwardly tried to gauge the divine energy of contract manufacturing.
'Not a bad option.'
Luckily, it didn't feel negative. Of course, for certainty, he'd have to pray and divine more specifically, but that wasn't possible at the moment.
"I'll need to look into the details, but it's very good information. Thanks to you, I have some direction now."
"I'm glad I could help."
Madman smiled sweetly at his words.
"That's not just lip service. Please let me know about that company later. I want to try making a simple prototype."
"A prototype?"
"Yeah, nothing fancy. If we use Kemalcon as a small figure model, it could work well—our viewers use that a lot."
With an excited voice, Lee Gyeongbok suggested, and Park Juho calmly considered it.
"Hm... I guess the cost would scale with the size. If it looks reasonable, we can increase the quantity, and see if the quality holds."
"Then, how about giving them as gifts to OTP participants?"
"Oh, then I want to join, too!"
At Jo Daehan's words, Lee Gyeongbok laughed.
"I can just give one to you, daehan. Ah, we're at a welcome party but somehow started talking about work again. Let's save the details for later."
"Yeah, yeah, let's just drink for now!"
Choi Byeonghun lifted his glass. After they each took a sip, he laughed.
"Wow, madman's working hard from day one! I knew I had an eye for people!"
"Hey, I'm the one who did well, why are you bragging?"
"Now that you say it, you're right. I can't logically argue with that."
"Man, stop quoting memes in real life."
At Madman's playful jab, Choi Byeonghun stroked his jaw. Everyone got a laugh out of the exchange.
'Still, thanks to Byeonghun, madman seems to be fitting in easily.'
Lee Gyeongbok raised his glass with a satisfied look.
"Well, it's a hiatus day today. Let's get some good rest and work hard starting tomorrow!"
The meal itself was great.
But eating with good people was always the best part.
* * *
That night, on Purple's fan page.
[Shoutout to everyone who watched everything on Purple channel LOL]
[Honestly, shouldn't we get seven days a week of streams?]
[Why is a week seven days anyway!? Should've been eight!]
[What do you mean eight, lmao, have some mercy on working office people!]
[I don't even work at a company!]
[Longer hours makes it tougher for Bates?]
While viewers lamented the hiatus(?), a new announcement went up.
[〈Event〉 The 3rd Over the Perfect (OTP) – Royal Desperate Revenge]
Even the title was enough to grab attention.
[OTP with Roderi? WTF LOL]
[Why even post notices on hiatus LOL]
[Black Company at it again?]
People flocked to the announcement as if they'd found an oasis in the middle of a desert crossing.
[〈Over the Perfect (OTP) – Royal Desperate Revenge〉

3. Entry Conditions
Only subscribers can participate!
63 participants will be drawn at random.
If the West had a Gold Rush, here at this channel we have a Purple Rush!]
People quickly started commenting after reading the notice.
[-Oh? Godple playing as an outlaw?]
[No way, perfect-as-villain!? That's basically the final boss, Lol!]
[Let's be honest, no one fits the final boss role like Godple, haha]
[Why does a wanted poster seem so fitting, lMAO]
[Wasn't he basically an outlaw already as the CEO of Black Company?]
[-What's this in-game bounty thing?]
[Means Godple will play outlaw, and you get the bounty for catching him, I guess?]
[Oh? Do they convert it to dollars or something?]
[If you're after the prize, can't just troll at the start, Lol]
[Yup, you'd have to spend separate time to let Godple's body money go up.]
[LOL, this is seriously clever.]
[No way for trolls to mess it up now.]
[-A figure? Is that a Kemalcon figure?!]
[Damn, Lol, I want this more than the prize money.]
[That's some serious Purple viewer proof!]
[The competition's gonna be insane, Lol.]
[Are we finally getting PerfectPlay figures?]
[Nah, just sell them already!]
[-Feels like participants will backstab each other for the prize, Lol]
[True, people will team up and then backstab each other.]
[What? Isn't that life in the Wild West?]
[Turns out it was all historically accurate, lMAO]
[This is bound to be a riot.]
The once subdued mood due to the hiatus flipped instantly. Fan page posts started multiplying like mushrooms after rain.
[Godple is definitely the best streamer to subscribe to]
[Monthly participation events—what's not to love!]
[Let's be real, I'd subscribe even without this, Lol]
[Doing the math, you actually win if you're a subscriber.]
[Honestly, the coupons you get for every Godple "homework" are profit enough]
[No such thing as too many benefits!]
[Didn't you have to subscribe to verify Korean nationality anyway?]
[What's with this subscription/nationality thing, Lol]
Lee Gyeongbok was already delivering satisfaction to his subscribers with play differentiated from other streamers.
Add in the recurring events and coupons handed out with each promotion, and the level of satisfaction doubled.
Still, there was something disappointing about this event.
[But why did the scale shrink this time?]
[Both the first and second events had 100 people, what happened?]
[With only 63, competition's gonna be insane!]
[Everyone else, please leave—I want to be alone]
[Go outside for once, Lol]
Compared to before, the number of participants had dropped sharply. But this wasn't Lee Gyeongbok's fault.
[Rock'n'Roll guys, please expand your servers]
[Man, during GAT Online even 64 sounded like a lot]
[Are they limiting this just to reduce their own server load? Annoying.]
[Why 64, not a round number like 60 or 70!]
[As expected, imperial units country behavior, Lol]
[Don't they do custom deals with developers like for Escapers?]
[That was for homework back then LOL]
[Finished all the homework during yesterday's ending, haha]
The maximum session size was set by developer Rock'n'Roll Games. That's why viewers were expressing their disappointment.
[Will you use it if I provide the server?]
A new post was quickly upvoted and pinned at the top.
[Summary = that's the point
I sent an email but figured it might get lost, so posting here too.
You all know the player cap for Roderi Online is because of Rock'n'Roll's servers.
But that cap only applies to official servers.
If you rent a private server, you can set the session cap up to double, haha.
So you can have up to 128, meaning 127 viewers can join!
Of course it's not free.
Renting a private server costs money, and if you want a smooth experience, it'll cost even more.
It's kinda much to ask Godple to pony up when there's real prize money on the line, right?
So if you're down, I'm offering to rent and provide the server instead.
But offering it for free is a bit much, so here's a quest:
Condition – Use only handgun-type weapons in this OTP
Success – Free server provided
Failure – Change your channel name to 'NotPerfectPlay' for a week
If you're interested, reply by email, tri message, or in the comments and I'll get it ready right away]
If it wasn't the developer's official session but a private server, the number of participants could be expanded.
But that wasn't the only reason people were excited.
[-Wow, giving a quest like this?]
[-Mighty visitor in a humble place?]
[-Of course, names are on another level]
[-That kind of madness, wow]
[-What's up with the punishment, notPerfectPlay, Lol]
It was because of the poster's name.
[Yo, qdari-sir! Isn't this a bit much? LOL]
[Did you get your bonus early this month, Lol]
[Donating Kingdari as always, thank youㅠㅠㅠ]
[Can't believe we're getting an offline quest, Lol]
[If you bypass Tri's fees, it might actually be a bargain?]
[Just so reliable, qdari!]
The name was 'Agent Q'.
Now, a viewer more widely known as Qdari had returned.
