Alex and Alan organized the evidence and, accompanied by Saul and Herbert, headed for the official residence where the president was staying.

― So are we just arresting him and getting the ending opportunity?"

― He's the final boss, I don't think it'll be that easy though."

― What if the president gets taken hostage?"

― No, lol, that's too much!"

― Still, I doubt he'll just get arrested that easily."

The viewers actually grew anxious as things seemed to be going too smoothly. Contrary to their worries, however, the four had no trouble meeting the president.

"Welcome, everyone."

However, it wasn't just the president in the room.

"Harold...!"

"What are you doing here?!"

Harold was there with the president as well. Moreover, he didn't show a hint of surprise.

"If this has to do with the Investigation Bureau, surely it's proper for me to be present as well?"

"Let's hear them out first."

At the president's words, alan, who had gone rigid, nodded.

"Please take a look at this."

He handed some documents to the president. As the screen flickered, the president's expression changed.

"A contract killing of a prisoner? Sneaking out a Gatling gun? Director Harold, what is this all about?"

Shocked, the president turned to Harold for answers. The viewers breathed a sigh of relief at this.

― Honestly, I was worried the president would take his side, lol."

― Come on, there's evidence and all, how could he not believe it?"

― But why is that guy so smug?"

― Did he act his way into that director position?"

Even at the president's question, harold kept a smile on his face.

"As expected, he's not going to go quietly,"

Lee Gyeongbok said, and the chat agreed. Meanwhile, harold glanced surreptitiously at Alex and began to speak.

"Sir, please consider this rationally. This is exactly the sort of situation I was concerned about."

Even as he was being accused to his face, his voice didn't waver.

"You know very well that I'm working on integrating the security forces. What you see now are ignorant people who only care about their own interests, trying to stop the country from becoming better. You're witnessing them with your own eyes, sir."

"What are you—!"

"You mustn't be deceived by these fabricated reports. My only concern is serving this nation. This is such a major matter that it shouldn't be stopped by such outrageous slander."

Harold easily ignored Alan's outburst. The president looked around in confusion.

"No, sir! All this evidence is true!"

"Senior Sheriff Herbert. Then why did you report it through the Preston Detective Agency?"

"That's..."

"Sir, he holds an important position within the Security Bureau. If integration goes forward, he'll be the one to lose all his privileges. I won't even address the other three, since they're just private detectives."

"What?!"

"So you're saying we're just doing this for a paycheck?"

His shameless attitude infuriated all four of them.

― Wow, this Harold guy sure talks a lot, lol."

― Clearly wormed his way up with office politics."

― For real, what a schemer."

― He's gonna need some bullet express delivery."

― Just handle this Western-style already!"

The viewers weren't any different.

Alan glared at him, then turned back to the president.

"Sir! We have solid evidence. We must start a trial immediately and bring him to justice!"

The president's eyes trembled. Just as he was about to speak—

"Very well."

The answer came from Harold.

― What?

― He just drifted right there?

― What's he plotting?

― This is making me even more nervous, jeez.

Everyone in the room—and even the viewers—were shocked. Harold sneered at their reactions.

"Why are you all so surprised? Isn't this what you wanted? I want the same thing. My innocence will be proven in court."

Then he raised his index finger.

"However, I will not stand trial here."

"What did you say?"

"Sir. As you can see, the people of the West are colluding with each other to frame me. There's no way a trial held here could be fair."

Harold ended with a sly smile.

"So the trial will be held fairly back in the East."

At those words, Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers realized his scheme.

"Wow, really—he only sees what he wants to see, huh?"

― For real, lol, he wants a trial on his own turf.

― What is it! What's going on! Tell me too!

― The Investigation Bureau is under the Department of Justice!

― So he wants to take advantage of his connections in the East, lol.

― It's supposed to be by the law, but which court gives different verdicts depending on blood ties, local ties, or school connections? Uh...?

― Yeah, if you follow the law the same verdicts should be reached—right? Right...?

― In this day and age, the rich are innocent and the poor are guilty...

― Like there's a special court that gives 3 years in prison with 5 years suspended sentence, as if it's a formula, lol.

― Hey! Enough with the Grandmaster jokes!

― Channel about to explode!

The same went for the cutscene NPCs.

"Sir! This is absurd! You can't have a trial for incidents that happened here in the East!"

"I agree. There's no way judges in the East who are unfamiliar with the situation could judge fairly..."

As Alan and Herbert protested, harold erupted.

"Implying it wouldn't be fair! Sir, such remarks are tantamount to insulting the Federal Department of Justice!"

"What? That's ridiculous!"

"Enough! That's enough!"

As soon as their voices grew heated, the president mediated. The two who'd lost their temper dared not raise their voices further.

A momentary silence fell, erased only by the president's sigh.

"Regardless of Director Harold's charges, there is truth in his argument. The trial will be in the East."

"Sir!"

"But! The trial will be held immediately upon arrival. Director Harold, do you understand?"

"Of course."

The president turned to Alex and the others.

"If the evidence is clear, the law will be followed."

The tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.

― Ugh..."

― Knew it wouldn't be this easy!

― Why not just shoot the president too?

― You insane? LOL

― But honestly, the president has political considerations too.

― Come on, let justice be served already!

As the viewers grumbled, the scene changed. Alex and the others reacted much the same way as the viewers outside the official residence.

"The president made his decision, so there's nothing we can do. Saul, get that sheriff ready to testify as a witness—we need to secure his transport."

"Yes, understood."

"I'll also make separate preparations at the Security Bureau."

The three decided to prepare for the trial. Alan soon turned to Alex.

"It's best if you stay back. Sorry, but just talking about circumstances without physical evidence could hurt the trial."

"If additional crimes turn up as things proceed, you can join us then."

Herbert agreed as well.

The three left to get ready, but Alex stayed rooted in place.

He glared at the official residence. Beyond the window, harold looked as relaxed as ever.

"Huh?"

Then someone else approached Harold.

Lee Gyeongbok recognized the face and spoke up without thinking.

― Huh? Haven't I seen that guy before?

― Isn't he Harold's lackey from the police station?

― Oh! That mustache!

― Yeah, it's him!

The viewers recognized him as well.

― He was in the prologue!

― He's the one who was giving orders to Romwell.

― Right, romwell wasn't the boss, was he?

― So this mustache guy is Harold's right-hand man?

― Wow, was he staying at the official residence all along?

― Probably was assigned as a bodyguard?

Alex also recognized him and clenched his fist.

"Brian, shift change."

"Shift? It's not time yet."

"Director Harold needs to leave in a hurry—left us short-staffed."

"Today?"

"Said something about this evening's train. I guess we'll be running two shifts until the day after tomorrow."

"... Great."

Then came the voices of the bodyguards at the front gate.

With that, alex began to move.

* * *

A dark evening.

The train at the station began to move, slowly puffing out black smoke.

And with a scene of Alex watching the train, the cutscene ended.

"Time for some improvising."

Lee Gyeongbok checked his quest pointer, which pointed toward the train. The viewers immediately agreed.

― We need some Western-style justice right now."

― If he makes it back, it'll just be a bad ending, lol."

― But is he alone? No allies?"

― Solo train robbery? Lol."

― This is the mark of a true Master-tier character, lol."

― If it's Godple, he can handle it alone, for real."

Reading the chat, Lee Gyeongbok laughed and spurred his horse on. The swift steed quickly brought him close to the back of the train.

An armed guard stood outside the carriage. But that was no problem.

"I'll take him out by sniping."

Lee Gyeongbok casually pulled out a bolt-action rifle. Even though keeping balance at full gallop was tough, his shot was steady.

With a gunshot, the guard fell, tumbling off the side of the carriage.

-????

― Wait; why'd the guard get killed?

― How come his lawful alignment goes up for that?

― Not innocent, trust me, lol.

― You think Harold's only bringing back the mustache? Obviously the rest are his underlings, too.

As the viewers caught on, Lee Gyeongbok approached the train, then leapt from his horse onto the train.

― Insane sense of balance, lol."

― Isn't it normal to cling onto the saddle for dear life?

-???: Huh? You just jump.

― Balancing on a galloping horse, then jumping? Too easy for Godple."

― Even mattress companies would be jealous, lol."

-???: The unwavering comfort.

― Is that a performance mattress?"

The chat's tone was light, but soon grew tense.

"Quite the crowd's gathered."

Inside the carriage, guards had flocked to the commotion, rifles carefully trained on the door.

― Completely different from rescuing Jerry!"

― Guess you really have to be skilled to guard the president."

― Not just any outlaws, these guys are competent."

― Can he break through?"

― Where's the dynamite when you need it, lol?"

― If it's Godple, he'll figure it out!"

Charging in through that door would be suicide, so Lee Gyeongbok chose another way.

"How many intruders?"

"Seems like just one."

"Just one?"

"What a nutcase."

"Does he really think he can take us all on by himself?"

Some guards toward the rear murmured.

"He probably does."

"What? What are you even—"

The guard, turning to his colleague for such an odd answer, froze with eyes wide. Because Lee Gyeongbok was right behind them, pointing a revolver.

― He probably does? Lol."

― If you snuck up on them, you should've used a Genome kick, haha."

― And he responds out loud?"

― Purple confidence ON!"

Lee Gyeongbok had chosen to enter via the window, not the door. He climbed to the carriage roof and took them from behind.

He could have gone straight after Harold, but—

"No point leaving any trouble behind."

No reason to leave enemies alive when he could finish them off. With that said, he pulled the trigger.

"What?!"

"Behind us!"

"Watch out!"

Just as they realized what was happening, six guards went down in the blink of an eye. The revolver's cylinder was empty in no time.

The remaining guards turned their guns, but Lee Gyeongbok was faster.

"That way."

With one hand, he picked up a dead guard's revolver, firing it; with the other, he spun the empty revolver and hooked it around another guard's wrist like a grappling hook.

They realized a beat too late—but by then, their finger was already pulling the trigger.

"N-no..."

The guard, staring down at the comrade he'd shot by accident, was left speechless, but that didn't last. The spun revolver's grip cracked him on the temple, and he blacked out.

Lee Gyeongbok finished him off with a confirmation shot, then paused to catch his breath.

"Guess being a guard doesn't mean you need to be shot twice to die."

His off-hand comment set the chat ablaze.

― Damn, I just sat here with my mouth open, lol."

― What is this action, geez!"

― This is real 'GUN-law', lol."

― That Jackie Chan–style action feels so familiar."

― How many genres is this guy swapping through?"

― Hyung? Even Trooper fans can't kill with six shots of a revolver!"

-???: Who can't two-shot two-kill?

-???: Even young Billy can do it; who can't?

― Yikes, billy is basically a cheat code!

Lee Gyeongbok threw away the empty gun and pocketed the guard's unfired revolver.

Entering the next carriage, a cutscene started.

"So you made it this far."

A mustached man sat leisurely. He slowly stood and blocked the aisle.

"I heard you died that day."

"Judging from your memory, you must know why I should've."

Alex glared at him.

― Oh? Is this a duel?

― Kind of better this way, isn't it?"

― Yep, easier for Godple to take out mustache guy alone."

― Time to pay the price, mustache."

The man chuckled.

"Isn't it ironic? Our positions are completely reversed from back then."

He pointed to the badge pinned to his chest.

"I'm the one wearing the badge now. In other words, legally, I'm allowed to kill. And you're the one breaking the law."

"Pfft, you like that badge so much?"

Alex clicked his tongue.

"Thanks to you, I realized one thing. Learned it when I fell from that cliff."

"Oh? What's that?"

"Neither the law nor some fancy badge will save your life. The one thing that saved me that day—"

Alex slowly reached for his gun.

"—was the kindness of one person."

― Oh, talking about that Native guy?

― Is talk-friend side character coming back?"

― People save people, it's true."

― Yeah, even the law only matters if you act according to it from the heart!

The mustached man twisted his lips.

Both drew, but suddenly, guards rose from behind each row of seats—along with gunshots.

― What?!

― It wasn't a 1:1 duel, it was 1:3?!"

― Still a cowardly move, as always."

― What does a badge matter if you're still acting like an outlaw."

― But they're still no match for Godple's reflexes!"

― And always so clean with the headshots."

Lee Gyeongbok had already noticed them with his divine energy. So when control returned, he took them all down at once.

"Now that I've cut down the mustache, all that's left is Harold."

He strode casually over the bodies, passing through the carriage. At the final carriage, he opened the door.

There was Harold, flinching.

"First time you haven't looked confident."

Harold trembled as he looked at Lee Gyeongbok. His once-slick smile was long gone from his frozen face.

― You can see the carbonation bubbling up from him, huh?"

― This is real justice, so refreshing!"

― Harold is a complete coward!"

― Scared, huh?"

― Where's your backbone now?"

Lee Gyeongbok smirked at the chat. To Harold, it seemed to mean something else.

"You think you've won?! No! No! I'm not wrong! You are my proof!"

With a twisted face, he shouted.

"A first-class agent? Don't make me laugh! It only takes a moment for an ex-detective to become an outlaw after leaving the system! I could never entrust security to someone like you!"

"Wow."

Lee Gyeongbok burst out laughing in disbelief. So did the viewers.

― Guy's got enough logic for ten men, lol."

― Professional at bizarre reasoning."

― Is that 'reasoning' just like, dung? Lol."

― Isn't that a perfect description of himself?"

― Fighting himself in argument, awesome."

Lee Gyeongbok watched his reaction.

"You're fine with killing people for your plans?"

"It was a necessary sacrifice! People die in the West all the time anyway!"

The viewers were disgusted.

― So it's fine if you kill, because "people die all the time anyway"?

― What kind of logic is that?

― Roc&Roll made a good dog sound algorithm for this, geez."

― Is this a nonsense generator?"

― Hyung! Finish him off already!"

― I'll get stressed just listening to more of this."

At their request, Lee Gyeongbok rolled his eyes, then let a faint smile cross his face.

"I seem to remember you said something before—that you don't pull the trigger yourself?"

The chat popped up with question marks. What did that have to do with anything now?

Even Harold's eyes went wide as Lee Gyeongbok tossed his rifle on the floor in front of him.

"How about now? Changed your mind?"

Harold's gaze flickered. He looked back and forth between Lee Gyeongbok and the rifle on the floor.

He hurriedly grabbed for the rifle and aimed it at Lee Gyeongbok.

"Gone completely mad, have you?!"

He sneered and pulled the trigger. With a crack of gunfire—

"Waugh!"

Unable to handle the recoil, harold fell over backwards.

Stunned, he glanced up at Lee Gyeongbok, then at the bullet lodged far from its mark.

― Man, this is killing me, too funny, lol!"

― Purple confidence at work—outsmarting even the NPCs!"

― Never seen this kind of modded rifle before?"

― You think anyone but Godple can even use that thing?"

― It's perfect-custom, yeah!"

The bolt-action rifle Harold used had been modified for maximum muzzle velocity but minimum accuracy.

Unaware of that, harold frantically pulled the trigger again.

Nothing happened.

"Hah, have you never even fired a gun before? Bolt-action rifles are single shot."

At Lee Gyeongbok's words, the chat burst out laughing again.

A bolt-action rifle needs to be reloaded after every shot; at this point, harold was just holding a useless hunk of metal.

"Y-you—"

"That's enough nonsense. Cut."

With Harold's face burning in humiliation, Lee Gyeongbok lightly pulled the trigger.

― Just perfect, so refreshing.

― Thought I was getting soda, but it's pure sparkling water, lol.

― Broadcast genius," seriously.

― Only Purple Confidence could come up with that in the moment."

As the viewers enjoyed the moment, a cutscene began.

"I once believed the law protected people. But now I understand."

Alex, staring down at Harold's corpse, spoke.

"The law isn't above people."

He covered his face with a bandana and stepped over Harold. Beyond the carriage, the black engine room loomed.

The camera zoomed out to show the train slowing to a stop, then panned even higher to a night sky full of stars.

[Chapter 5 – Revenge]

[End]

At the chapter-end screen, Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers exclaimed.

"So that's how the final revenge ends."

― No more enemies left, right?"

― For real, all settled."

― Perfect revenge, accomplished."

― So good."

But only briefly.

Suddenly, new lettering caught everyone's attention.

[Epilogue – I am not Alex.]

The epilogue.
