Gene Fusion System: Crime Hunter
Chapter 1356 - 672: Mistaken Judgment? Calm and Composed
Seeing that the girls all avoided eye contact, they looked a bit at a loss.
Luo Fei hurried to reassure them.
"Ladies, don’t worry. Our police will absolutely not make a wrong judgment."
He looked utterly sincere.
Speaking up to this point, he was calm and composed.
The girls, however, were still uneasy and on edge.
"Officer, even though we’re good friends with Lin Shuyao, deep down we’re very clear about things. All along, she’s been acting as our ’big sister’ boss."
"Yeah, Officer, not to mention anything else—just her temper, ordinary people can’t take it. If we dare go against her, or even tell the police anything, then we’re basically finished."
But the two girls looked utterly terrified, their faces full of shame.
Luo Fei spoke sternly.
"You two, do you realize that if you have knowledge and fail to report it—if you understand how the case went down yet choose to keep silent—do you know what consequences that would bring?"
Luo Fei’s words made the corners of the two girls’ mouths twitch.
"Officer, we know you’re saying this out of good intentions. But we really don’t dare provoke Lin Shuyao."
"Yeah, she has plenty of ways to mess people up. It’s just that nobody knows. And we don’t dare touch her bad side lightly."
The two of them kept dodging his gaze.
They seemed a bit at a loss about how to go on.
Luo Fei’s curiosity was immediately piqued.
"Is that so? Then why don’t you tell me what exactly Lin Shuyao has done that scares you this much—so much that you don’t even dare resist her?"
"As for other people, I can’t make guarantees. But our police will definitely go all out, use every possible means to ensure your personal safety. No one will be able to lay a finger on you."
He could tell Luo Fei was rather shocked.
There was a hint of puzzlement in his tone.
Still, what he said was very convincing, giving people a solid sense of assurance.
The two girls exchanged a look.
"Officer, we can tell you what happened. But you have to promise us one thing."
Before they could voice their real thoughts,
Luo Fei was already waving his hand.
"I understand what you mean. You just want me to keep it confidential for you, right? I can guarantee I won’t spread any of this. You can be at ease now, can’t you?"
Seeing Luo Fei agree,
the two finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Officer, to be honest, we used to think Lin Shuyao was pretty cool. That’s why we were willing to be friends with her. But later, as time went on, we realized things weren’t as simple as we’d thought."
The two of them looked at each other, unsure.
Luo Fei was rather puzzled as well.
"Oh? So that means you already knew what Lin Shuyao’s temper was like, and the bad things she’d done before. Yet even so, you still decided to be friends with her?"
At that moment, Luo Fei was genuinely a bit surprised.
The two were extremely embarrassed.
"Officer, at the beginning we really took her as a friend. But later, as time went by, we came to realize she wasn’t that fun a person at all. Deep down she’s just a control freak who likes to torment people."
"Yeah, she used to bully lower-grade students and even made us go find little girls from the lower grades, drag them into the restroom. If they couldn’t come up with pocket money, she’d lock them in a stall and make them be late for class."
And not just that.
Any girl who got along well with Lin Shuyao would sometimes be forced to dig up dirt on classmates she didn’t get along with in the class.
"That’s just how Lin Shuyao is. If there’s a classmate she has a bad relationship with, she’ll come up with all kinds of ways to smear that person."
"Also, we’ve suggested before that maybe we shouldn’t be doing this sort of thing. But to our surprise, she said if anyone dared defy her, refused to listen to her, she’d use the same methods on them that she used on those other classmates—and she’d tattle to the teacher, tell the homeroom teacher all the bad things we’d done. So all we could do was swallow our anger."
Hearing that,
Luo Fei finally understood—this Lin Shuyao’s character was truly vile.
It was also because they’d been pushed to the limit, feeling they simply couldn’t put up with her anymore,
that these two girls had taken the initiative to tell Luo Fei all this.
"So, you two, do you know who the people she bullied used to be? Or in other words, is there any chance they’d be willing to cooperate with the police investigation?"
"Officer, if we provide you with leads, will we be safe ourselves?"
"Yeah, if we end up getting arrested by the police precisely because we helped you, that would be a bit too high a price for us to pay."
The two looked ashamed and uneasy.
Afraid he’d arrest them, Luo Fei simply smiled it off.
"Don’t worry, you two. As long as you actively cooperate with the police and admit your own mistakes, I believe the police will treat you leniently."
"But exactly how things will be handled still depends on how you behave from here on out."
Luo Fei suddenly spoke, clearly hinting at something, which made the girls feel rather taken aback.
"Officer, what else do you need us to do?"
"Yeah, we’ve already told you everything we know."
The two looked somewhat awkward.
Luo Fei smiled and reassured them.
"I just hope you can help me find all the people she’s bullied before, get them to come forward and testify. That way you can help us bring Lin Shuyao to justice."
