Gardener of Eden
Chapter 118: The Sunken Archipelago
Chapter 118: Chapter 118: The Sunken Archipelago
As the immense body of Vargr dissolved into shimmering particles of raw mana, eight distinct items materialized in the center of the crater, hovering briefly before settling onto the cracked limestone.
Squad 07 gathered around the glowing pile, their eyes widening at the impressive haul:
Level 10 Boss Core (Peak Tier 1): A translucent orb pulsing with dense silver and copper light, overflowing with raw kinetic and physical mana.
Apex Steel Teeth (x2): Dagger-length teeth infused with natural armor-penetration properties, ideal for high-tier weapon forging.
Apex Steel Claws (x2): Razor-sharp, obsidian-hard claws capable of slicing through enchanted plate armor.
Mana-Infused Gemstones (x2): Rare, sparkling gemstones radiating deep elemental resonance, perfect for gear socketing or high-level alchemy.
Pet Beast Egg (Dire Wolf Bloodline): A heavy, dark-shelled egg patterned with silver vein-like markings, faintly vibrating with a warm, steady heartbeat.
"Look at the density on these claws!" Barney barked, picking one up with a blacksmith’s expert eye. "I can forge a pair of devastating piercing daggers for Mirei or reinforce our vanguard armor with these."
Seraphina carefully retrieved the two mana gemstones and the glowing boss core, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "The purity in these gems will boost our elixir potency exponentially, and a peak Tier 1 boss core is worth a fortune at the guild exchange."
Meanwhile, Princess Lyra and Caelen knelt beside the pulsing beast egg. "A boss-lineage companion egg..." Lyra murmured, looking up at Rowan with a grin. "The drop rate for a pure-blood dire wolf companion is practically nonexistent on the lower floors!"
Rowan picked up the silver-veined egg, feeling its faint heartbeat hum softly against his palm. Sensing its latent potential, he stored the egg safely inside his Gardener of Eden domain sub-dimension—where the divine soil, hyper-pure atmosphere, and condensed mana streams would provide the ultimate environment for incubation.
Rowan tipped the brim of his Enchanted Straw Hat, resting his trusty hoe over his shoulder with a relaxed smirk.
The crew headed over to the swirling blue portal leading to the 6th floor and stepped in without hesitation; their purpose on this floor had been completed.

Stepping through the shimmering azure portal, the dry, dusty heat of the Floor 5 steppe vanished in a single breath, replaced instantly by the crisp, invigorating wash of a cool ocean breeze. Salt spray kissed their skin as blinding, golden sunlight reflected off a vast, endless expanse of crystal-clear turquoise waters.
Squad 07 found themselves standing atop the sun-bleached marble terrace of a colossal, ancient temple elevated just above the tide. Stretched out before them as far as the eye could see was The Sunken Archipelago.
It was a breathtaking world of aquatic wonder. Hundreds of lush, emerald-capped tropical islands dotted the inland sea, linked together by shallow coral reefs glowing with violet and cerulean mana. Looming up from the deep blue depths were the drowned, towering spires of a flooded ancient citadel, their grand archways half-submerged and encrusted with barnacles, colorful sea vegetation, and shimmering mana crystals. Distant, low rumbles reverberated beneath the waves as massive shadow silhouettes—amphibious leviathans—glided silently through the submerged ruins.
"Well, this is certainly a change of pace," Barney muttered, shielding his eyes as he wiped a bead of ocean spray from his breastplate. He immediately tapped his heavy iron pauldrons, eyeing the high humidity with a blacksmith’s sharp judgment. "I’m going to need to treat our gear with corrosion-proof resin before this salt air starts eating away at the metal."
Mirei already had her heavy bow resting against her hip, her keen eyes tracing the island chains and broken stone archways dotting the horizon. "The shallow channels between those sunken ruins create perfect choke points. It’s an ideal layout for scouting and long-range ambushes." Caelen grinned beside her, resting his palms on his twin hilts, clearly eager for high-speed island-hopping combat.
Rowan stepped directly to the edge of the marble terrace, looking down into the sparkling bay below. Patches of glowing Mana-Kelp swayed gently with the ocean current, while vibrant, star-shaped water lilies bloomed across the flooded ruins, radiating hyper-pure elemental energy into the surrounding sea.
A slow, confident smirk touched Rowan’s lips. His Gardener of Eden authority hummed softly in response to the surrounding atmosphere. Up until now, his farming had been rooted in rich earth and mahogany loam, but looking at the pristine marine flora, a brand-new realm of agriculture lay open: Aquaculture. The crystal-clear stream of condensed mana running right down the highest hill of his domain sub-dimension was practically begging to be seeded with rare aquatic crops and deep-sea flora.
Tipping the brim of his Enchanted Straw Hat, Rowan rested his trusty hoe comfortably over his shoulder, his eyes gleaming with ambition as he looked out across the flooded floor. "Get ready, everyone. Floor 6 is going to yield a whole new kind of harvest."
The cool, crystal-clear water rippled around their boots as Squad 07 waded into the drowned citadel, the ocean tide swirling softly at ankle height across the flooded marble walkways. Under the bright tropical sun, the shallow water turned the ancient submerged ruins into a brilliant mirror, reflecting towering broken archways and sun-dappled colonnades encrusted with vibrant coral and glowing sea moss.
Barney grunted, stomping his boots lightly to test the water-resistant resin he’d hastily applied to their leather straps and armor joints. "Resin’s holding fine. The salt won’t touch the steel as long as we keep to these shallow paths."
Up ahead, Caelen moved with silent grace, his footsteps barely making a splash as his eyes darted between submerged pillars, keeping a sharp eye on the surrounding tidal pools. High above on a half-shattered marble wall, Mirei scanned the open water, her heavy bow resting across her knee as she watched for any unnatural shadows gliding beneath the surface.
"Look at these carvings," Princess Lyra murmured, trailing her fingers along a partially submerged relief depicting ancient sea crests and leviathans. "This city must have been an absolute marvel before the tides reclaimed it."
Beside her, Seraphina was already leaning down, her alchemist’s curiosity piqued by tiny clusters of bioluminescent spores floating gently on the water’s surface. "The mana purity in this aquatic ecosystem is incredible. Rowan, look at those stem nodes."
Rowan paused, stepping toward a shallow basin where a cluster of rare Sunken Spirit Lotuses bloomed just beneath the water’s surface. Their translucent petals pulsated with soft cerulean light, absorbing ambient mana straight from the tide. With a subtle nudge of his Gardener of Eden authority, he instantly analyzed the precise water conditions, nutrient density, and salinity required to sustain them.
Reaching down with practiced care, Rowan harvested a handful of mature seed pods, storing them directly into the inventory space of his domain sub-dimension. In his mind’s eye, he could already picture the pristine stream running down the hills of his personal haven, soon to be lined with glowing lotus blooms and rich beds of aquatic crops.
Adjusting the brim of his Enchanted Straw Hat, Rowan rested his trusty hoe over his shoulder with a quiet grin. "Keep your eyes sharp, everyone. The floor’s welcoming us with ankle-deep water, but the true predators of the archipelago won’t stay in the shallows for long."
