Chapter 367: Stock Solution
Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Stock Solution
Hopka froze in shock, his expression grim as he stared at Heluya. ’The damned monster actually found a Type-IV Alien.’
Long Ming looked at Heluya ahead, then turned to glance at Hopka and couldn’t help but swallow hard. ’I’m really done for this time!’
He was caught between the two of them.
"RAWR~"
Just then, Heluya let out a piercing roar at Colonel Hopka.
Hopka stared back ferociously at Heluya.
Long Ming suddenly realized that neither the Alien nor the Mechanical God behind him was looking at him.
He began to inch his way to the left, toward a tunnel entrance on the lower-left side of the lair.
Once Long Ming was out of the way,
Hopka decisively lowered his Shoulder Cannon, locked onto Heluya, and fired a dazzling beam of light.
Heluya instantly deployed its AT Barrier.
BOOM—
The beam struck the AT Barrier and exploded.
Heluya then charged out of the explosion.
Hopka stomped hard on the ground and rushed forward.
The two collided, and a terrifying shockwave swept outward, causing the entire fortress to tremble slightly.
Long Ming glanced back and was stunned by the terrifying sight of their battle. He quickly scrambled into the tunnel entrance on the left.
He sprinted down the tunnel, his only thought to get away from this place as fast as possible.
But when he reached the end, he came face-to-face with a heavily deformed black metal door.
Long Ming stopped in his tracks.
He stared at the mangled door, tightened his grip on his Blood Blade, and stepped through.
Long Ming found himself in a massive biological laboratory.
Rows of highly precise mechanical equipment and biochemical vats met his eyes.
Submerged within these vats were hideous, malformed Aliens of all different shapes and sizes.
Long Ming’s brows knitted together as he looked at the submerged Aliens. He then proceeded forward cautiously.
Along the way, he saw dissection tables, blood extraction containers, and other such equipment.
Suddenly, Long Ming saw a damaged Third Generation Mechanical God lying on the ground up ahead.
This Third Generation Mechanical God was only three meters tall. Its surface was made of a special metal that gave off a strange, silvery-white sheen, and it was equipped with a short metal blade.
GASP!
Long Ming’s heart skipped a beat.
He saw a blood-red, spiked halo engraved on the Mechanical God’s chest.
That was the insignia of the Star Alliance’s Second Legion!
’Does that mean the people outside are military personnel from the Star Alliance?’
Thinking this, Long Ming finally understood why those people were so strong. It turned out he had picked a fight with the Star Alliance military.
He immediately used his wrist-mounted device to scan the Third Generation Mechanical God.
Third Generation Mechanical God: Lurker (Advanced Custom Model)
Durability: 57/100
...
Long Ming glanced at the information displayed, his expression growing even more grim.
This was a special, advanced custom model of a Third Generation Mechanical God, likely designed specifically for infiltration and reconnaissance.
Long Ming’s expression flickered. In the end, he raised his wrist-mounted device and stored the mecha in his safe before continuing his exploration.
「A few minutes later.」
Long Ming reached the end of the area and saw a fifty-meter-tall, structurally complex cylindrical machine.
At the base of the machine, set into an indentation, were twenty one-meter-long glass cylindrical canisters, each filled with a bubbling green liquid.
Long Ming looked at the twenty glass canisters with a thoughtful expression, then stepped forward to see if he could remove one.
CLICK!
With surprising ease, he removed a glass canister full of the green liquid.
Long Ming tried to scan it with his wrist-mounted device.
???
Alert: Insufficient Data.
Long Ming looked quite surprised.
’This is the first time the scanner has failed to identify something.’
’What is this database, anyway? Does this mean I’ll have to find a way to update the data myself in the future?’
Long Ming’s expression flickered for a moment before he suppressed his confusion.
He gently placed the canister on the ground, then proceeded to remove all the remaining ones.
Long Ming raised his wrist-mounted device and scanned them all into his safe.
Although he didn’t know what they were, judging by where they were stored, they had to be valuable.
After stowing the items, Long Ming looked around for anything else of value.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t find anything.
Long Ming then started searching for another exit, wanting to leave the laboratory as quickly as possible.
But after searching for a long time, he couldn’t find a single one.
"This is trouble. There are no other exits,"
Long Ming muttered to himself, his expression souring.
He was trapped.
’No matter who wins the fight outside, the Alien or the military guy, I’m the one who’s going to lose in the end.’
With that in mind, Long Ming steeled himself and started back the way he came. He needed to see how the battle was going before planning his next move.
As he neared the Alien’s lair, the sound of violent explosions grew louder.
Judging by the sound alone, the fight was incredibly fierce.
With a heavy heart, Long Ming crept closer.
...
「Inside the lair.」
Heluya swung its razor-sharp blades, viciously slashing at Hopka.
Controlling the Prisonbreaker, Hopka dodged with a last-second sidestep.
CRASH!
The gleaming blades tore through the Prisonbreaker’s thick armor and slammed into the ground.
"You’re asking to die!"
Seeing his beloved mecha damaged, Hopka leaped up. He swung the metal Giant Hammer, which crackled with gray arcs of lightning, and brutally smashed it into Heluya’s chest.
THUD—
Heluya’s chest caved in as its body flew backward, crashing into the hall’s central pillar.
CRASH—
The entire central pillar bent from the impact.
Heluya fell to the ground, but it quickly scrambled back to its feet.
Its caved-in chest healed at a visible rate, and it let out a furious, piercing roar at Hopka.
Long Ming was stunned by the sight.
’I need to escape now,’ he thought, ’but there’s no chance! The exit is right between them.’
Just then, Hopka charged furiously toward Heluya. As he drew near, he leaped into the air, bringing his Giant Hammer down on the Alien like a crashing meteor.
With great agility, Heluya spun around and whipped its tail chain.
BANG!
The Prisonbreaker was struck square in the chest and slammed into the ground. The metal floor instantly buckled and shattered.
Heluya then retracted its tail, opened its mouth, and charged up a plasma beam, firing it at the Prisonbreaker.
BOOM—
Hopka, trying to get up, couldn’t dodge in time and was sent flying by the blast.
He scrambled up, looking battered and bruised, and glared at Heluya in fury.
"You piece of filth!"
"Activate Overclock Mode!"
"Authorization confirmed. Unlocking."
"Warning: Power limiters disengaged."
...
Instantly, the Prisonbreaker’s power unit let out a terrifying roar. The entire Mechanical God was like an awakened Fierce Beast, and the Giant Hammer in its hand began to crackle with even more violent arcs of lightning.
Heluya once again charged ferociously at Hopka.
Controlling the Prisonbreaker, Hopka stomped hard, launching himself toward Heluya like a cannonball.
Heluya swung its sharp blades, slashing at Hopka.
"Shattering Strike!"
Hopka swung his Giant Hammer in a furious counterattack.
The blades and the Giant Hammer crashed together.
