Chapter 429: Chloe: I Don’t Want a Brother Anymore

Director Lawson had just come back from talking with Nina Sinclair when he overheard the remark.

Gabriel Sinclair’s suspicious gaze made him feel a little guilty.

"What did I hide from you? Didn’t you read the contract when you signed it?"

Gabriel Sinclair paused, scratching his head.

It was true; everything had been spelled out clearly in the contract.

But then something occurred to him, and Gabriel Sinclair sucked in a breath. "Wait, that’s not right. Then what did Ford mean earlier?"

Simon Lawson chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You’ll find out in a bit."

As he finished speaking, a crew member handed him a gong.

Simon Lawson took it and struck it once.

"And now, the first round of the challenge begins!"

"Everyone, please take a look behind you."

At his words, all six of them turned around in unison.

"What is it?" Gabriel Sinclair said, rubbing his head.

"It’s just grass and more grass. What are we supposed to be looking at?"

Before Simon Lawson could speak, Nina Sinclair tugged on Gabriel Sinclair’s sleeve. Her lips twitched as she corrected him, "Big Brother, that’s not grass. Those are radish leaves."

’What kind of grass grows in such neat rows?’

???

Gabriel Sinclair grew even more confused. "Radishes? Where are the radishes?"

’Besides this lush green grass, where could there possibly be any radishes?’

"Little Sis, do you really think I’m some young master who’s never even seen a radish before?"

"Pfft!"

The moment Gabriel Sinclair finished speaking, the people around them couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.

As the director, Simon Lawson laughed even more heartily on camera.

Chloe Sinclair shot her brother a look you’d give an idiot, then silently shuffled a little farther away from him.

"Hahaha, what’s with that look from Chloe Sinclair?"

"She’s looking at him like he’s a moron."

"Chloe Sinclair: I can’t stop him."

"The sister actually shuffled away from her brother in the end. She must be speechless, haha."

"Gabriel Sinclair: ’Do you really think I’m some young master who’s never even seen a radish before?’"

"Gabriel Sinclair is truly a conversation killer on variety shows. You can never argue with the things he says."

"Did this guy skip preschool or something? Even preschoolers know that song about pulling radishes. He doesn’t even have the common sense to know radishes grow in the ground."

"Even my dog is speechless."

"Look at how hard Simon Lawson is laughing."

Meanwhile, Gabriel Sinclair was finally realizing he had just done something stupid.

He looked down and saw that Chloe Sinclair had put several steps’ distance between them.

After a moment of silence, he stealthily sidled back over to Chloe Sinclair.

The livestream chat erupted in laughter again.

Simon Lawson finally managed to stifle his laughter, but the moment he looked at Nina Sinclair, he couldn’t help but let out another chuckle.

"As you can all see... haha... radishes... PFFT!"

Simon Lawson was laughing so hard he was nearly in tears. "Sorry, give me a moment."

That "moment" lasted a full three minutes.

Finally, Simon Lawson turned his back, trying his best not to look at Gabriel Sinclair.

He composed himself and said, "Behind you is a seven-acre field of radishes. You need to pull up all the radishes today. Tomorrow, you will help the villagers sell them. The first-place winner will receive dinner ingredients as a reward from the show."

Gabriel Sinclair immediately latched onto the key point. "So you’re saying whoever doesn’t get first place tomorrow won’t get to eat?"

Simon Lawson nodded. "The show will provide seasonings. You’ll have to figure out the rest of the meal yourselves."

Gabriel Sinclair muttered to himself, then turned to Chloe Sinclair with grave seriousness. "Little Sis, whether or not your big brother gets to eat tomorrow is all up to you."

Chloe Sinclair: ...

Finally, Chloe Sinclair replied with a hint of resignation, "Don’t worry, I won’t let you go hungry tomorrow."

Only then did Gabriel Sinclair relax.

But then, he noticed another huge problem.

This entire field in front of them had to be completely harvested today.

Gabriel Sinclair looked down at his clothes and finally understood what Jessica Ford had said earlier.

Simon Lawson, probably afraid of getting beaten up, quickly retreated to the control room after announcing the task, lest he be chased down by Gabriel Sinclair.

Chloe Sinclair said, "Bro, you’ll get hot once we start working. You can just take off your shirt if you get tired."

"I brought a few sets of sportswear for you. You can change into them tomorrow."

Gabriel Sinclair nodded like a chicken pecking at rice.

Chloe Sinclair was the first to walk into the field, and she picked up one of the hoes that had been prepared beforehand.

"Radishes that are packed in the soil like this usually can’t be pulled out by hand, so we need to use a hoe to loosen the dirt around them."

As she spoke, she lifted her eyes and gave Gabriel Sinclair a meaningful look. "Of course, digging is a technical skill, too. These radishes have to be sold, so their appearance is very important. You have to be careful when you’re digging them up. Whatever you do, don’t damage the radishes."
