From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos
Chapter 315: Sacred Artifact
Even the Blade Slaughter Sect Master could not sense any latent danger in the area where Li Yang had disappeared.
However, the point of light representing Li Yang had vanished, and they couldn’t find him anywhere in the Lingyue World. All signs pointed to one conclusion: Li Yang was dead.
Beyond that, there was an infinitesimally small possibility that Li Yang was currently inside a space that could block the Token’s senses.
But that possibility was virtually zero.
He was only a step away from the Emperor realm; he could even sense an Opportunity Space left behind by an Emperor.
Most of the opportunities left behind in the Lingyue World were from Deities, with only a few from Emperors. As for Dominators, who were above Emperors, none had ever entered this place.
WHOOSH!
The Blade Slaughter Sect Master’s figure flickered as he continued his search for Li Yang.
...
While the Blade Slaughter Sect Master and Xuan Mo were searching for Li Yang, he had been swallowed by a suddenly appearing portal and now found himself in a strange space.
’As expected, something is off!’
This sudden turn of events didn’t surprise Li Yang. An opportunity sensed by the mysterious little sword was bound to be special.
He would have been more surprised if it weren’t.
Once the fluctuations subsided, Li Yang took in his surroundings.
’This... This is...?’
But a single glance was all it took to leave Li Yang utterly stunned.
It was a space filled with countless pulsating purple lights.
In the center of this space hovered an incomparably massive spear, over a thousand kilometers in length.
All the purple motes of light emanated from this spear.
Beyond the lights, Li Yang felt an incredibly terrifying pressure coming from the spear. He had the feeling that if this pressure were to fluctuate even slightly, he would be instantly obliterated.
A vast space, a purple spear over a thousand kilometers long, an endless, oppressive aura... The sight was an overwhelming shock to Li Yang’s system!
’What is this?’
Li Yang was completely floored. It was just a weapon, yet it gave him a heart-stopping sense of dread, a feeling he had never experienced, not even when facing Deities.
Taking a deep breath, Li Yang forced himself to calm down.
’So this is the space the mysterious little sword led me to?’ Li Yang wondered.
He scanned the area again. There wasn’t much to it—only the giant purple spear.
"A Sacred Artifact! This is a Sacred Artifact!"
As Li Yang stared, the voice of Soul Ink suddenly rang out in his mind.
He exclaimed, "Li Yang, what kind of insane luck do you have? You’ve actually stumbled upon a Sacred Artifact!"
His tone was clearly one of utter shock.
Hearing Soul Ink’s words, Li Yang was taken aback. "Soul Ink, are you saying this purple spear is a Sacred Artifact?"
Weapons were categorized into tiers, and a powerful weapon was naturally something everyone coveted.
Previously, when Li Yang had first arrived at the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall, he had been completely awestruck by their ultimate treasure, the Supreme Saint Artifact known as the Majestic Star River. Afterward, he had specifically researched the different tiers of weapons.
Weapons were divided into Tiers One through Ten Divine Weapons, all of which were meant for use by those below the Divine Realm.
As for experts in the Divine Realm, even a Tier Ten Divine Weapon couldn’t allow them to display their full power. What they craved most was a Divine Artifact!
Only a Divine Artifact could allow them to perfectly—or even more powerfully—unleash their strength.
And above Divine Artifacts were the Sacred Artifacts!
These were the highest tier of weapons in the Cosmos, and Supreme Saint Artifacts were a type of Sacred Artifact.
A Supreme Saint Artifact was the most powerful weapon in the entire Cosmos! The whole Human Race possessed only one, and it was their ultimate treasure!
From what Li Yang had learned, every single Sacred Artifact was priceless. Most experts at the Emperor realm only used Divine Artifacts.
’And now a Sacred Artifact—something most Emperors don’t possess but desperately covet—had appeared right before his eyes?’
Li Yang was clearly dumbfounded.
"That’s right. A Sacred Artifact."
Soul Ink said with a sigh, "Li Yang, that’s why I said you were lucky. If word of this place got out, every single Emperor from your Human Race would likely rush in. It might even attract the attention of a Dominator!"
A Sacred Artifact was an irresistible temptation for any powerful expert.
Not only Emperors but even Dominators might descend upon this place to fight for it!
Hearing Soul Ink’s words, Li Yang’s eyes instantly lit up with excitement.
’The mysterious little sword is truly something else.’
The first time the mysterious little sword had pulsed, he had discovered the World Tree. The second time, it led him to a Sacred Artifact!
"Soul Ink, how do I get this Sacred Artifact?" Li Yang asked hastily.
Soul Ink thought for a moment before replying, "Don’t get ahead of yourself. Every Sacred Artifact must acknowledge a master. If your strength is insufficient, the chances of it accepting you are minuscule. The only other option is to take it by force, but you’re too weak right now. You probably couldn’t even get it into your Spatial Ring."
A Sacred Artifact was a weapon on a level that was difficult to fathom. For comparison, with Li Yang’s current power, he could easily destroy a planet.
However, if the sun were placed before him, he would be powerless to destroy it.
Nor could he take it with him.
The difficulty of taking a Sacred Artifact far surpassed the difficulty of Li Yang trying to take the sun.
At this, much of the joy that had just bloomed in Li Yang’s heart withered away.
"Li Yang, go ahead and try. See if you can get it to acknowledge you as its master," Soul Ink said.
Even he wasn’t entirely sure what the deal was with this particular Sacred Artifact.
Since someone had left it behind, it stood to reason that it could be taken.
"Okay." Li Yang nodded, then sent out a wisp of his soul, attempting to make contact with the purple spear.
As his soul touched the purple spear, it pulsed slightly and directly repelled his soul.
’It won’t acknowledge me.’
Li Yang then tried to store it in his Spatial Ring, but that was equally useless.
HUMMM...
The massive spear faintly glowed with purple light, its oppressive aura spreading outward. Its weight was comparable to countless planets; Li Yang couldn’t budge it in the slightest.
"It seems my concerns were warranted."
Seeing this, Soul Ink shook his head. "Li Yang, you can’t take this Sacred Artifact. You’ll have to leave it here and come back when you’re stronger."
If an Emperor were here right now, they could probably take the Sacred Artifact by force.
Li Yang was, without a doubt, far too weak at this moment.
"Alright." Though reluctant, Li Yang nodded in acknowledgment.
He truly was powerless against the spear before him.
A trace of unwillingness lingered in Li Yang’s heart. He was practically drooling. With such a powerful Sacred Artifact right in front of him, how could he not be envious?
Giving up on the idea, Li Yang tried to leave.
But to his dismay, he couldn’t. "Soul Ink, I don’t think I can leave this space."
He had been sucked in by a portal that appeared out of nowhere, but now he couldn’t find a way out.
"You can’t leave?" Soul Ink was also a bit puzzled by this.
As if sensing Li Yang’s attempt to depart, the giant purple spear suddenly pulsed, and a voice rang out, filling the entire space.
"I am the Profound Destruction Dominator. I created the five forms of the Destruction Spear Skill. To any latecomer who has cultivated for no more than fifty years, possesses a complete soul, and has comprehended at least three Laws, you may enter this space I have left behind. Once you master the first form of the Destruction Spear Skill, you may claim the Profound Annihilation Spear as your own and leave this space..."
