From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

Chapter 288: Arriving at the Fire Nether Divine Beast Clan

  • Next Chapter

Li Yang looked with delight at the Fire Nether Divine Beast inside his Summoning Space.

This Summoning Space was, in a sense, just one of his cells. A world in a grain of sand... Even the most powerful experts would be unable to discover it, so there was no danger of it being exposed.

After seeing the Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar emerge, Li Yang had a thought, and a stream of resources was tossed into the internal space.

Having just been summoned—or resurrected, one might say—the Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar was still in its most nascent state.

Resurrection was a heaven-defying act, but each time it happened, the resurrected being’s strength would be reset to its weakest state.

Of course, the Laws it had comprehended remained. As long as enough resources were provided, it could rapidly recover to its peak state.

"ROAR!"

The young Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar began to absorb the Spiritual Power from the numerous Spirit Fruits and medicinal herbs, and its cultivation realm began to rise rapidly.

However, its advancement stopped once it reached the Peak of King Level.

To break through to the Law Realm, one must absorb the world’s origin energy, which was impossible to do within the Summoning Space.

But Li Yang was in no hurry.

...

"Li Yang, we’re here."

After summoning the Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar, Li Yang had continued to cultivate.

Less than a day later, Kui Stone’s voice sounded from outside his room.

Li Yang walked straight out.

The flying vessel had arrived at a location where a portal shimmered with multicolored light. When his consciousness tried to probe the portal, it felt as if it were being devoured, unable to penetrate at all.

’So the Fire Nether Divine Beast clan’s territory is within this membrane?’ Li Yang wondered, gazing at it.

Beside him, Kui Stone smiled. "The Fire Nether Divine Beast clan doesn’t live in the outside world, but in a place similar to a Relic Space. They carved out this space themselves. I’d say it’s about the size of dozens of our Human Race’s galaxies."

"The size of dozens of galaxies?"

Li Yang was slightly startled. He certainly knew about Relic Spaces, having entered several on Earth.

But a Relic Space the size of dozens of galaxies... just how vast was that? Its diameter must be at least several million light-years.

Then again, for an entire clan to occupy such an area, it actually seemed a bit small.

The Human Race had the Three Thousand Star Continent, and each Star Continent contained hundreds of millions of galaxies! In comparison, the territory of the Fire Nether Divine Beast clan was pitifully small.

Kui Stone didn’t enter immediately. Instead, he sent a probing attack toward the shimmering membrane.

VMMMM...

An illusory figure immediately materialized on the membrane.

"This is the entrance to the Fire Nether Divine Beast clan’s territory. Do not approach without cause..." the figure said, its voice cold as it materialized.

Judging by its features, it was a Fire Nether Divine Beast.

The Fire Nether Divine Beast, its power level unknown, looked down at Li Yang and Kui Stone.

Although they were subordinate to the Human Race and were required to make periodic contributions, the Human Race could not casually disturb their world. This was the agreement between them.

"Greetings. I am Kui Stone, a disciple of the Blade Slaughter Sect Master, and this is my junior brother, Li Yang," Kui Stone said, introducing them to the Fire Nether Divine Beast.

"Li Yang?"

This Fire Nether Divine Beast clearly knew of Li Yang and had recognized him on sight.

It said, "I know the purpose of your visit. Please wait at the entrance. Someone will be here to receive you shortly."

"Very well," Kui Stone nodded.

With that, the illusory image of the Fire Nether Divine Beast vanished.

"Li Yang, we’ll wait for a little while. The Fire Nether Divine Beast clan should send someone to get us in about half an hour," Kui Stone said with a smile.

"Although the world the Fire Nether Divine Beasts carved out is vast, their main hall isn’t far from this entrance."

With the Human Race watching over them, there was no need for the Fire Nether Divine Beast clan to build their main hall far away.

If the Human Race wanted to move against them, it wouldn’t matter how far away they built their palace.

"Understood," Li Yang nodded.

His eyes were filled with anticipation.

’My true body will leave as soon as I get the Fire Spirit Pearl, leaving the Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar behind.’

He was looking forward to getting the Fire Spirit Pearl, but he was even more excited to see what fortuitous opportunities the Fire Nether Divine Beast avatar would encounter!

...

The Fire Nether Divine Beast clan lived in palaces similar to those of the Human Race, but their palaces were all crimson and covered in mystical runes.

Red was the totemic color of the Fire Nether Divine Beasts, a source of their greatest pride!

They were Deities by birth. As long as a member of their clan didn’t perish prematurely, they were destined to achieve eternal life.

Inside one of these palaces, seven powerful figures were gathered.

The fluctuations of power emanating from them were clearly far stronger than those of ordinary Deities.

Fire Nether Divine Beasts were born Deities who could typically only master the Fire Element Law. But the Cosmos always leaves a glimmer of hope. Over the long eons, some among them had naturally emerged who could comprehend, and even completely master, other Laws.

The seven figures present had all clearly mastered other Laws in addition to the Fire Element Law.

One of the seven spoke up. "I just received word. The Human Race’s genius, Li Yang, has arrived at the entrance to our world. I’ve already dispatched someone to greet him."

"Mm."

The leader of the group nodded. "Li Yang’s purpose in coming is the Fire Spirit Pearl. We must host him well and not show any neglect."

"Hmph."

As he finished speaking, another of the seven snorted coldly. "Clan Leader, who is this Li Yang? Just some weakling at the Longevity Realm that the Human Race is nurturing! Even our own geniuses can’t obtain one of our clan’s Fire Spirit Pearls, yet as soon as this Li Yang arrives, we’re just supposed to hand one over to him?"

The face of this powerful Fire Nether Divine Beast Deity was clearly etched with dissatisfaction.

He wasn’t the only one; several others wore similar expressions.

The apparent leader of the Fire Nether Divine Beast clan, Fire Prison, looked at the others and said calmly, "Lie Xiang, since Zhu Xu and the others have just come out of seclusion, please share what you’ve learned about Li Yang."

Lie Xiang, the one who had spoken first, nodded. "Li Yang is a genius the Human Race selected from their Three Thousand Star Continent. At the Peak of Law Realm, he was strong enough to match an expert considered invincible at the Longevity Realm. He was accepted into the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall, ranking tenth."

"His Talent wasn’t apparent at first. When he initially joined the Eternal Saint Hall, he only passed the first step of the Human Race’s Path of Deities. By his fifth year, he had passed the fifth step, and by his tenth, he had passed the seventh. The Talent he has displayed has led him to be hailed as a peerless genius, the kind the Human Race sees only once every few billion years, putting him on par with Lan Yu. He is currently not yet forty, making him even younger than Lan Yu."

Thinking about the information on Li Yang, Lie Xiang’s eyes filled with envy.

Passing the seventh step of the Human Race’s Path of Deities before the age of forty!

They knew exactly what that meant!

Even the most powerful genius of their Fire Nether Divine Beast clan couldn’t possibly pass the seventh step in a mere few decades.

"What? This Li Yang passed the seventh step of the Path of Deities in his thirties?"

"Another peerless genius for the Human Race, the kind that only appears once every few billion years?"

"Didn’t the Human Race already produce two peerless geniuses, Mixed Void and Lan Yu? Where did this Li Yang come from?"

Hearing Lie Xiang’s explanation, the expressions of the other objectors changed slightly.

They had just emerged from seclusion, only to hear that the clan was giving a Fire Spirit Pearl to some unknown Human Race genius named Li Yang. Their dissatisfaction was only natural.
