Chapter 741 - 354: A Show of Force (Part 2)

But upon delving deeper, the situation made her frown! She had great trust in the quality of soldiers trained by Yu Feng, but so many discordant factors were intermixed, which was quite off-putting. The gap from her ideal expectations was too vast, inevitably leading to some disappointment.

She asked several pointed yet real questions, directly rendering Cui Shaokang speechless and unable to respond.

She somewhat disinterestedly closed the document, intending to address it later when alone, stood up, and said, "We’ll pause these matters for now, and put aside the familiarization with personnel. Starting today, I will issue commands, and you’ll release them on my behalf; I don’t want to see those people today!"

The slightly capricious remark from Su Jiameng left Cui Shaokang speechless. In his view, although Su Jiameng was very young and perhaps suspected of nepotism, her mindset was at least mature. But now upon seeing her like this... had he been overthinking?

The Maxiwa Delta is too far from the Alliance Center. Although the nature of this army has changed, shedding its former disgraceful title, the military affairs were still overly cumbersome and troublesome. Many issues could have been handled by subordinates, yet now everything was thrown before her as a Lieutenant General!

Su Jiameng, almost suppressing her inner unpleasantness, completed those virtual documents in an extremely short time, issuing basic orders. However, even so, it wasn’t until the moon was high in the sky that these matters were settled, only then having time to study the army’s basic training regimen. It could be said... Yu Feng was indeed strong and talented, as evidenced by his reinvigoration of two armies within a short period.

But this didn’t mean that all his former subordinates were competent; lacking oversight and the threat of the Insect Race, these people stationed constantly at the Maxiwa Delta seemed hazardous but were in fact incredibly safe, causing each of them to become complacent!

Looking at their training menu made her feel a bit ashamed for these guys! Such laxity, would Yu Feng approve!

Thus, Su Jiameng angrily picked up the pen and swiftly amended their daily training plan, also marking the consequences for non-completion!

Since these guys privately had the leisure to gossip about the rumors between herself and Yu Feng, it surely indicated that their ordinary days were quite leisurely, leisurely enough to have plenty of time to speculate about the [scandal] between the Admiral and the Lieutenant General!

Su Jiameng was notorious for being harsh on others and harsher on herself! She had already figured out how to teach this bunch of guys! Nonetheless, Cui Shaokang, who received the superior’s documents in the middle of the night, felt extremely pressured. Was this Lieutenant General aiming to torment the soldiers with such methods?

At dawn the next day, soldiers of the first camp gradually arose, each washing and tidying up with lightning speed before assembling at the training ground. Yet... they all found something peculiar; it seemed today’s assembly bugle hadn’t sounded?

The first group of soldiers to arrive noticed that their direct superiors stood on the drill platform at the training ground, each with an unhappy expression and stood neatly in three rows of six, facing a slightly small-framed woman.

Noticing the arrival of the soldiers, the eighteen individuals’ expressions turned even grimmer, while the woman showed a slightly bloodthirsty smile.

"What time is it now? Is the bed really so warm that you find it hard to part from your bedding, even making you late by a whole hour for such an important morning drill!" The unfamiliar woman strode through the three rows of six, her expression stern as she glared at them.

She didn’t use any sound amplification devices, yet effortlessly transmitted her voice to each soldier’s ears without appearing to be speaking loudly. For a moment, soldiers arriving based on the old training schedule were all bewildered—who was this woman?

"Sir, we have strictly adhered to the training time regulations, never arriving late by a minute!" a bold soldier stepped forward, replying loudly... or rather, countering Su Jiameng’s words. Such behavior was nothing short of impudence and provocation!

She squinted slightly, ignoring this person seeking punishment by jumping out. According to the list provided by Yu Feng, this soldier was tied to Yu Feng’s brother—Yu Yi’s side of things; an opportunity should be found to transfer him elsewhere, as troublemakers shouldn’t be kept here.

"Captain Cui, tell them, what is the exact time!" Su Jiameng was dressed simply today. Though said to be casual wear, it was actually a military shirt and shorts, and without a reminder, she could easily be mistaken for an ordinary female soldier.

Cui Shaokang, steeling himself, announced the contents of Su Jiameng’s new regulations, emphasizing, "This change takes effect officially from Cosmic Time midnight last night. Thus, everyone present today is late, one violation of discipline, and for those with a rank, the crime is aggravated!"

"As punishment for breaking the discipline, today’s training volume will be doubled, no resting or meals allowed until completion!"

Following Su Jiameng’s pronouncement, all eighteen in the three rows of six turned pale; having been briefed here by Cui Shaokang earlier, they naturally knew of Su Jiameng’s new training quota. The regular amount was already unbearable, let alone having it doubled...

Was this newly appointed airborne Lieutenant General dead set on giving them a hard time?

They never imagined it was not Su Jiameng preparing to discomfort them, but trying to expose these individuals’ intentions to discomfort her.

Clearly, when Cui Shaokang announced that brand new, hot-off-the-press training plan, the expressions among over a thousand soldiers were quite spectacular!

Of course, Su Jiameng’s tendency to attract animosity started acting up again; she continued to speak loudly, "In view of Admiral Yu Feng’s repeated commendation of you people in front of me, I hold exceedingly high expectations for you. However, seeing is believing—to verify the authenticity of the Admiral’s statements, I’ve decided to join this training. Everyone listen up, using this training as a base, I’ll complete three sets on my own."

"If I finish my three sets before you complete yours, then the daily training will be doubled as a standard, with a one-month limit!"

"As for what punishment I’d face if I were to finish after you...I honestly haven’t thought about that possibility."

The first camp is merely a warning for the entire army; no one will escape! (To be continued. Your support is my greatest motivation.
