Fox Has No Malicious Intent

Chapter 1202 - 1199: The Rampaging Boar Incident

  • Next Chapter

"You think I've got time to sit around bullshitting?!"

The dark-skinned burly man was so anxious he was spinning in circles, then turned to Chen Zhiyu and said:

"The village chief said everyone's been working hard doing the Wandering God procession, so he told us to bring out a big boar for the ancestral offering and treat everyone a bit, but before he could even finish talking, the pig rammed him flying....…"

"Dozens of us couldn't hold it down. Now, we can only ask you to come save him."

The stud boar that had just sent Chen Zhiyu's old man flying had been doing heavy-load training year in, year out, just to make sure it could provide the highest-quality seed for breeding.

Now that it's gone berserk, no one can stop it. The only one they can count on at this point is Chen Zhiyu.

Chen Zhiyu is one of the few legal Hunters in the whole village who are registered with the Public Security Bureau and allowed to use a shotgun.

The other legal Hunter is currently running a marathon up the mountain road with barbell plates on his shoulders!

Things like illegally stashed air rifles—hit that rampaging stud boar and you wouldn't even give it a scratch.

"Holy shit! That's insane..."

Chen Zhiyu froze again, then, ignoring the half-eaten meal in front of him, let out a shocked yelp, sprang up from his chair like an ejection seat, and ran quickly out of the private room.

He'd heard the old saying "even an old horse can stumble" plenty of times, but Chen Zhiyu still felt this was a bit absurd.

His nagging old man, the most respected old Hunter in the village.

Back in the day, when he dealt with ferocious beasts, they were all meat-eaters like South China Tigers, black bears, or Golden Leopards. When he was young he'd literally walk wolves like pet dogs, and he'd even set traps to catch tigers.

And now someone comes running in to tell him that his badass old man got chased all over the mountain by a pig.....

Anyone hearing that would think it ridiculous. But after the initial shock, Chen Zhiyu quickly came back to his senses and thought of the possibility that his old man had run into a Spirit Beast.....

"Woof?"

Ah Bai, whose mouth was all shiny with grease, lifted his head, looked at Master Fuli, and licked his lips.

Brother Fuli..... since when did you order takeout? I was just worrying that after this meal I'd barely be half full.

"I've been busy stuffing my face, how would I know....." Ansheng muttered, face full of black lines.

Logically speaking, the Spirit Beast Gang had already subdued half the Spirit Beasts in the Xia Dong Region. Through the various Overlords, their influence spread outward, broadcasting information.

In the Xia Dong Region, whenever a strange Spirit Beast showed up, the Spirit Beasts and wild beasts under the Spirit Beast Gang would definitely whip out their phones and report it the moment they saw it, in exchange for a cash reward.

Here in Changping, there's that weird fish and the leopard cat keeping watch; no way an outsider Spirit Beast could invade.

"Let's go help!"

Ah Qing saw Sister Zhuyu's back disappear, snapped out of it, got up from her chair and ran outside. As she ran, she grabbed a handful of tissues to wipe her mouth, and while she was at it, helped clean the Little Fox's snout too.

"Wait for us, I've got a hunting dog here....." Qiu Lingling, seeing this, grabbed Ah Bai by the scruff of his neck, slung him over her shoulder, and ran out behind Ah Qing.

They came out from the Lijiang private kitchen restaurant.

Chen Zhiyu ran to the Public Security station, took out the double-barreled shotgun they had stored inside, and borrowed a motorcycle to rush toward the pig farm at the foot of the mountain.

"Get in."

A step slower but catching up by car, Lin Ying called to Ah Qing and Qiu Lingling to get in, then drove to the edge of the farm.

On the mountain road, Ansheng saw a van that had been hit on the side and overturned on the ground, and a large group of local villagers grabbing whatever tools they could and rushing into the forest.

"Luuu—"

They entered the forest.

A strange pig's roar echoed out.

"Who told you to stop?! Keep going! You over there, three more sets of dumbbell flys, thirty reps a set, GO!"

"If you still got the strength to stare at her doing Pilates with your eyes popping out, it means you've got extra energy for rutting—pick her up! I said pick up that log and give me Smith squats!"

"Fast fast fast! Everybody keep moving!"

The wild pig's roars never stopped, but inside those "luuu luuu" sounds, Ansheng's expression gradually turned weird.

Ansheng looked over at Ah Qing.

Ah Qing was currently staring blankly, as if her brain had short-circuited, staring out the window:

"Why do I feel like that big pig is hyping everyone up, screaming itself hoarse telling them to hold on, victory is right in front of them."

In Ah Qing's "translator app," the roaring from the forest didn't seem to carry much malice.

On the contrary, it sounded a bit like a group class at a gym, everyone encouraging each other to stick with the body-shaping workout.

In that brief dazed moment.

Lin Bingyun floored the car on the mountain road, then slammed down hard into the crime scene.

A strong wild boar with black bristles and a body of fat-wrapped muscle was standing up straight on its hind legs. Its pig forelegs clamped a thin branch, and it threw its head back with a long roar, whipping that branch down onto the people who were furiously doing extra sets on the field.

Beside it, there was a big barrel filled with some weird stuff mixed with water, looking like pig slop.

On the side of the barrel, there was a label that read: [American Cockroach Powder, high protein, premium muscle-building herbal tonic.]

"......."

Ansheng lay on the sunroof, staring dumbfounded at the clearing in the woods—at the young men hauling logs and working out like mad, and at a middle-aged woman doing insane amounts of cardio whose face looked a bit like Chen Zhiyu's.

Meanwhile, Chen Zhiyu's old man was panting heavily, a three-meter tree trunk on his back, sprinting around the forest.

"Qiang?"

Chen Zhiyu, who arrived a step late, saw that mutated wild boar and his eyes suddenly widened. He stared in shock at the black stud boar and shouted.

"Luu?"

The black pig turned at the sound. The moment it saw Chen Zhiyu it froze for a second, then its eyes sharpened. Two jets of scorching air blasted from its snout as it stomped forward fiercely:

"Luu luu luu——"

If you hadn't come, I almost would've forgotten—it was you who tricked me into the pigsty to work out!

You're coming to do extra sets too!

"Watch out!"

The black pig took a step, and the soft soil rippled like the surface of a lake. With each step, crescent-shaped shockwaves spread out.

Ah Qing saw this from the car, shouted, grabbed the Little Fox's little paw, and hurled him out.

"Work out your ass! Who the hell hits the gym during New Year's?!"

Master Fuli adjusted his posture midair, then snapped out a heavy flying kick that smashed into the black pig's head.

His kick came with a raging gust of wind, siphoning up all the dead branches and leaves around them.

The black pig's body flew sideways, spinning at high speed, turning into a tornado of dead leaves and branches. It shot horizontally out of the forest and plowed a trench into the ground.

"Boom——"

The forest's collapse thundered through the air. Master Fuli twisted midair, then dropped straight down, landing upright in front of Chen Zhiyu, and asked:

"You know that big lug?"

"Uh.... yeah, I do. But it didn't used to look like that." Chen Zhiyu raised his hand and drew a normal pig's outline in the air with gestures.

"All right then..."

Master Fuli nodded slightly, picked up a rock from the ground, and hurled it straight at where the black pig had landed.

"Boom——"

The black pig, struggling on the ground, only saw a flash of black in front of its eyes before a sharp pain exploded in its forehead. A cloud of dust rose up, blinding its vision.

Its pupils slowly crossed into a wall-eyed stare. As its consciousness grew fuzzy, a white phantom vaguely appeared in the sky above, gazing down at it.

"Luuu——"

The black pig passed out in terror, sinking into a nightmare filled with Master Fuli's violence.

No.... don't, I'll go do extra sets right now.
