Fox Has No Malicious Intent
Chapter 1146 - 1143: Slandering My Reputation, They're Slandering My Reputation!
"After all....."
"They can't beat you in a fight, can't outplay you in scheming, yet Master Fuli just loves to plant himself in front of those lordships, and whenever he's bored he'll smack them around for fun, making them lose face."
"So the lords have been quietly spreading rumors that Master Fuli is the [Son of God], or the reincarnation of some ultimate unbeatable world-ending angel from who-knows-which family, so that when they get beaten up it doesn't count as losing face anymore."
Bulina raised her right hand high, face full of excitement, answering Master Fuli's question.
Ansheng doesn't really follow overseas current affairs, and honestly doesn't know much about some things in the Spiritual Particles Circle.
But Bulina's explanation—especially her choice of words—was already very restrained.
Master Fuli's lack of quality is so infamous that in the overseas landlord circle it's basically world-renowned. Suppose a Landlord of Longevity merely walks past Master Fuli—what exactly would happen?
By normal logic, with no grudges and no enmity, as long as the Landlord of Longevity can politely say hello, there shouldn't be any physical conflict.
If you let the Landlords answer, their standard answer is: they'll absolutely get beaten up and extorted.
And the reason for getting hit is very likely this: Master Fuli, face full of rage, grabbing the bruised and swollen Landlord of Longevity, speaking with deep "heartache": "You walked past me, you bastard thing, and you didn't even want to call me father."
In the landlords' hearts, Master Fuli is the walking embodiment of "unreasonable bastard."
Whenever Master Fuli talks reason, it's definitely an extremely rare case of having absolutely no other choice.
Someone this cocky should usually be put on the stake and burned.
Yet they can't beat him, can't handle him, so they can only pinch their noses and openly acknowledge him as big brother.
"....Are you talking about me?"
The little fox face of Ansheng froze for a moment, then he raised a paw to point at himself: "If you didn't say it, I'd have thought those punks in the Longevity Club were introducing themselves!"
After hearing Bulina explain the meaning of the weird title, Ansheng almost got so mad he laughed out loud.
"After your explanation, I feel my biggest problem right now is that I'm still not arrogant and domineering enough; they actually dare to secretly chirp away about me behind my back!"
"After the New Year, when I get some free time, I have to grab them by the neck and ask them whether my surname is 'Arrogant' or 'An'."
"Eh?"
A question mark popped up over Bulina's head. She scratched the horned head on her shoulders in confusion, not understanding why Master Fuli was so angry, and said:
"Isn't being famous a good thing? Master Fuli, in the overseas Spirit Beast Circle, is absolutely the pride of Spirit Beasts. Regular Spirit Beasts hear the name and are scared shitless; the territory's huge."
"When I heard a fox screech, I almost pissed myself." Already in custody, Bulina wasn't as terrified of Master Fuli as before, even a bit resigned, just hoping Master Fuli would go easy on the pepper; that stuff stings.
"Good how? What's good about it? That bunch of rotten fish and stinking shrimp are trying to drag me down to their level, then use their rich experience in butterfly strokes in sewage pits to beat me."
"They're smearing my good name out of thin air!" Ansheng rolled his eyes in irritation.
The Landlords of Longevity getting beaten, to put it bluntly, is exactly what they deserve—who told them they don't do a single decent thing.
They're scared because they know they deserve it, since I can "bang bang" them with a couple of punches at any time.
But now this group of sin-makers is obviously setting up a shrine for me while hoisting me up, equivalent to passing an ideologically loaded message to the masses:
[Look! That's Master Fuli. Even when we're rotten to the point sores grow on our heads and pus drips from our feet, once we see Master Fuli we still have to call him big brother. Shows you how evil Fuli is. So you'd better keep paying grain tribute to me!]
[It's raining everywhere you go out anyway, so you might as well hide under my shade and protection; it's always been that way historically.]
Sure, the Landlords of Longevity didn't deliberately come out to target Master Fuli, and even showed face by classifying Master Fuli's existence as equal to a god's.
But their real intention isn't chickening out; they're calculating their own interests and toying with the common people.
As long as they set up a Great Demon King image, they can double their oppression of the lower classes, telling the world that if they don't keep striving and paying tribute, the Great Demon King will kill everyone.
The Great Demon King stands in the firmament overlooking the earth, while we Landlords of Longevity are heroic units resisting the Great Demon King.
With a common enemy, the masses, who were supposed to open their eyes in the new era of Spiritual Particles resuscitation, will once again be reduced to expendable material in the Landlords of Longevity's "anti-invasion narrative."
The Landlords of Longevity may look like they're giving face to Master Fuli, but in truth they're just exploiting Master Fuli's image, and the discourse power in their hands, to cash out massive profits.
And the profits here are far more than 300%.
Even a chicken-shit university is still a university; it still has some political courses. As soon as Ansheng heard the Landlords of Longevity actively publicizing their own "great achievements," he instantly realized those rotten asses were scheming to commit new sins again.
And they were even waving my banner with my reputation.
"What good name..."
Having just come out from the staff passageway, Ah Qing, who was coming to look for the little fox that still hadn't returned, stepped into the room and saw Huhu bouncing around, loudly yelling about some good name.
Ah Qing froze in place, utterly confused, looking at the little fox and the big bleating sheep in the room.
"Someone's making up rumors out of thin air saying the fox is bad. I mean, how can people be that shameless?"
Seeing Ah Qing come in, Ansheng stopped brooding over those rotten-ass Landlords of Longevity. Anyway, when he got some free time after the New Year and went to tidy up the Immortals, he'd just strangle those rumor-mongering landlords along with them.
They say I'm brutal.
Well then..... I'll be exactly as brutal as they imagine.
"Who says Huhu is bad? Huhu is amazing!" Ah Qing scooped Ansheng up and rubbed her face against him, then looked with mild curiosity at Bulina, who was sitting on the floor in a duck-sitting posture.
"That low-cut, tight dress exposing her butt—looks like wool growing straight out of her body?"
Ah Qing sized Bulina up, then looked at the little fox with keen interest and asked: "What did she do wrong?"
"Stealing national strategic resources, breaking inmates out of prison, illegal entry followed by an attack, resisting arrest, picking quarrels and provoking trouble, and slandering Xia Country's national treasure fox...."
"The stuff she did is enough to get her roasted whole; I'm keeping her left leg for my midnight snack." Ansheng said with utter certainty.
"Eh?"
Bulina looked totally blank, then was suddenly appalled: "I still have to die even when I cooperate with the interrogation? Don't bother with procedures! Just use the cigarette lighter and scorch my ass directly....."
"And that 'picking quarrels' and 'slandering the national treasure'—I refuse to recognize those two charges."
Bulina is afraid of fire. At the beginning she'd never agree to having her ass scorched with a lighter.
But once she heard she'd be turned into roast lamb, that fire would be much hotter, Bulina felt a cigarette lighter or whatever, she could take that.
"How does picking quarrels not count? Your illegal entry is a criminal matter. You entered Xia Dong and didn't come to our Homeless House to pay respects, and that doesn't count as hooliganism?"
Ansheng loudly refuted Bulina: "And didn't you say you run fast?"
"Staying here—are you waiting for me to treat you to a midnight snack?"
"Why aren't you hurrying off to redeem yourself with meritorious service? Or do you feel my hat-pinning skills are rusty and want to help me practice?"
"Oh oh oh, I'll go be a traitor right now and ram all the Spirit Beasts on the street to death..."
