Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2893 - 1372: Rice Cooked, Deal Sealed (Fog)
So, the card game we played for fun before everyone arrived came to an end. Since Motan confessed to cheating at the end, Wanyang, who almost lost his shirt, luckily didn’t have to pay any price and could still stand on the moral high ground.
But when Wanyang went to the bathroom (he really had to go), Kanglan pulled Motan aside and asked in a low voice, "By the way, even though you did cheat in that last round... you didn’t actually cheat in those earlier games, did you, Motan?"
"Does it make a difference~"
Motan grinned, barely restraining the urge to throw flirty winks at the girls’ group, shrugged, and said, "According to the rules of the streets, whether you get caught cheating once or a hundred times, if you get caught, you’d at least have to leave behind a pair of underwear, or at the very least, a finger."
Kanglan’s mouth twitched, and he said dryly, "Normally you’d leave behind a finger, right? What’s with the underwear... Hang on! You’re messing up my train of thought. What I’m saying is, you clearly had the ability to make Wanyang keep losing, so why did you deliberately let him off the hook at the end?"
"Maybe it’s because..."
Motan scratched his chin, pretended to think for a while, then chuckled lightly, "I’m not interested in his 1946 summer limited edition Gugu-chan figurine. After all, unlike you guys, Gugu-chan’s couple treat me like one of their own."
Kanglan sighed and said in a gloomy tone, "If I weren’t such a sickly kid since childhood, you can bet my slap would already be on your face."
"What’s there to envy? You rich second-generation alliance parents all know each other; you’ll be familiar with each other in time. Besides... rational fangirling is nothing to be ashamed of."
Motan patted Kanglan on the shoulder, strolled back to the sofa, sat down, and waved lazily to the newly arrived girls’ group and Cui Xiaoyu, "Sit anywhere you like, just let Yi Dong know if you need anything, don’t be shy."
The biggest guy, Cui Xiaoyu, plopped down on the single wide sofa by the coffee table, and, grinning, looked up at Yi Dong, "Winter Son, get me an ice-cold Coke."
"Me, me, me! I want strawberry juice! Orange juice is fine too!"
Ji Xiaoge, laughing so much she got a stitch, hopped slightly on the spot, raising her hand high.
"Iced milk, with sugar."
Ji Xiaodao nodded slightly at Yi Dong, then turned to Yu Chen, who was sitting obediently next to her, "What do you want to drink?"
Yu Chen, a bit embarrassed, glanced at Yi Dong and cautiously asked, "Can I also... have milk?"
"Have strawberry juice, not milk."
But Ji Xiaodao quickly shook her head before Yi Dong could respond, and after rejecting Yu Chen’s proposal, she leaned back on the sofa, reached out to massage her shoulder, her normally cool face showing a rare complexity, "Even I think your shoulders must be sore."
Yu Chen’s face turned a deep red in a flash.
Meanwhile, Ji Xiaoge’s eyes suddenly sharpened, and she looked up at Yi Dong abruptly and said loudly, "Even though I like strawberry juice! I still also want milk!"
"You guys really don’t hold back, do you?"
Yi Dong’s mouth twitched as he gave a huge eye roll, then made a crude gesture at Motan, and finally went off to fetch the drinks, looking just like one of those tsundere warm-hearted guys who say one thing but mean another.
"I’ll go too."
At this point, Motan, who had been lounging on the sofa, suddenly got up, smiled at everyone, and said, "He probably can’t carry it all by himself."
Ji Xiaodao glanced at Motan, who had been encouraging everyone to order Yi Dong around, and though she didn’t say anything, her face almost screamed ’hypocrite.’
Meanwhile, Ji Xiaoge smiled sweetly with her hands folded, blinking, "Thanks so much!"
And with that, the two strolled off to the kitchen.
"Hey, since you’re going to have me do something, at least let me finish it all at once."
Yi Dong casually opened the freezer, picking through its contents as he lower his voice irritably at Motan, "Your sudden switch in demeanor really makes my heart skip, you know."
"Two people are more efficient than one."
Motan responded with a smile as he pulled out some bagged juices from the cabinet, "Don’t worry, reality isn’t a game. We’ve all known each other for so long that even if it feels a bit off, it’s hard for others to connect the dots with the truth."
Yi Dong, arms full of the recently replenished beverages, nudged the fridge door closed with his shoulder, his tone not friendly, "You’re quite laid-back about this, huh? What if things go south—it’s me who’ll have to clean up your mess?"
"We’re all friends here, I don’t want to be so uptight in front of everyone, like I’m play-acting. A bit of natural behavior doesn’t hurt. Pass me the hot water."
As Motan spoke, he took the kettle Yi Dong handed him, efficiently making juice for Yu Chen and Ji Xiaoge, a small smile on his lips, looking rather pleased.
"I’ll head back first, you hurry up now."
Yi Dong picked up the drinks again, and as he brushed past Motan, he whispered, "That look Yu Chen gave you earlier was kind of odd, keep an eye out."
Motan shook his head with a wry smile, not saying anything.
No matter which of his personalities was in charge, he knew that Yu Chen, in some way, possessed a level of sensitivity that was excluded from the norm. In fact, ever since a long time ago, as long as Motan’s real-life personality wasn’t in ’Absolute Neutrality’ mode, the girl would maintain a certain distance. Of course, it could also be said that they treated him the same way as they did Wanyang, Kanglan, or Cui Xiaoyu.
