Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2883 - 1367: Dumb
Game Time PM19:27
Inner Ring District of Academy City, Seventh Floor of Obsidian Square Tower, Room Number Two
Having already cut off the chatter with Tan Mo, Double Leaf was now idly chatting with Motan. Though their topics weren’t particularly engaging, she showed no intention of stopping.
It’s easy to understand, after all, even for someone like Double Leaf, today was a bit too eventful, a rollercoaster of emotions. With someone like Frank beside her, she could probably grab a dog’s paw just to vent her emotions and chat about life.
"I’m planning to talk to Mei’er later and ask him to allow me not to participate in the exchange meeting."
Double Leaf yawned lazily as she strolled behind Motan, who was sitting on the sofa. She pressed her elbow against his shoulder and handed him a half-bottle of melon-flavored Healing Potion: "Take a sip, I’ve specially improved this for you. Although you’ve already treated the wounds, it might help a bit."
To be honest, their current posture was quite intimate, at least from Double Leaf’s side. Looking closely, we can see her almost leaning entirely against Frank, with her left elbow resting on his shoulder, her palm supporting her chin, while her right arm wraps around his neck to deliver the half-bottle of Healing Potion to his mouth. The intimacy level is indeed quite high.
It helps that in the game, she’s physically quite underwhelming. As someone once said, her development was stunted before it even began. So, despite appearing close, their actual contact is minimal. If it were someone with a figure like Ivy Lehman, she wouldn’t even be able to get close due to system restrictions caused by brainwave complexities.
"Uh..."
Motan awkwardly tilted his head, eyeing the half-consumed Healing Potion from Double Leaf, and laughed awkwardly: "I think I’m fine now, so maybe it’s better not to?"
Double Leaf raised an eyebrow, snorted lightly: "What, disgusted with me?"
Motan glanced at the girl’s slightly proud, raised chin, neither confirming nor denying, merely smiling gently: "It’s not appropriate."
"Oh, now you think it’s inappropriate?"
Double Leaf sat up, smacked Motan’s head and then pinched his cheek, questioning him: "How come, when you fought for another woman, you didn’t think it was inappropriate, even though, using your own words, she’s someone you could never have as a lover?"
Motan shrugged, took the brand-new Healing Potion Double Leaf tossed him, uncorked it, and took a sip: "You didn’t hesitate to save me either, right?"
"I had ulterior motives."
Double Leaf pursed her lips, giving Motan a playful sideways glance.
"Alright~"
Motan didn’t continue arguing, using what seemed like childlike honesty to close the topic: "I had ulterior motives too, fair enough?"
"Oh really?"
The girl indeed smiled broadly, squeezing Motan’s shoulders charmingly, lowered her head to whisper in his ear: "So, in what way exactly are your ’ulterior motives’?"
Frank, who was quite resistant to close contact with any woman other than Diana, instinctively shrank his neck, then cleared his throat, speaking seriously: "Needless to say, aside from us being friends, Double Leaf, you’re also Diana’s apprentice. Whether it’s so you won’t speak ill of me after the exchange meeting, or even help say something nice, I need to leave a good impression on you, right? Also, Mei’er the Sage mentioned earlier that Kenneth values you highly, and by doing this, I can improve his impression of me."
"Ha, you’ve got it all figured out."
Double Leaf pinched Motan’s ear firmly, then strolled over to the sofa opposite him with a frown: "But seriously, are you sure you don’t want to join us? The City of Miracles is really fun. If you’re worried about safety, I can ensure Kenneth won’t go berserk and kill you as long as you don’t overly tease Diana in front of him."
Motan shook his head without hesitation, smiling with squinted eyes: "No, I’ve already said that I don’t want to drag her down with the identity of a lover, nor do I want to live comfortably in the Mage Holy Land because of Diana."
"So you don’t mind us suffering lovesickness, crying from missing you every day?"
Double Leaf blinked mischievously at Motan, displaying a prankster-like smile.
"Diana isn’t that fragile, and I’ve promised her that wherever I am, I’ll strive to be by her side whenever she needs me."
Motan shook his head, a smile curled at the corners of his mouth: "As for you, Double Leaf, haha, I’m actually quite curious what you look like when you’re crying from missing me."
Double Leaf curled her lip, replying with a blank expression: "Wailing miserably."
"Honored."
Motan slightly bowed, promising: "I’ll write to you often."
The girl indeed gave him a disdainful glance, asking sourly: "You’ll scribble a couple of words to me after signing your letters to Diana, is that it?"
