Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2879 - 1365: Concede
Half an hour later
Academy City Inner Ring District, seventh floor of the Obsidian Tower, Room 2
"Get out."
Having changed out of the bloody magic robe from before, with her wounds simply treated, Double Leaf pushed her glasses up with her middle finger and irritably flicked her still slightly purple right hand twice, glaring viciously at the middle-aged elf in the dark green robe before her: "I don’t need care or protection, so out."
Though he didn’t look particularly old, the elf elder who was actually over six hundred years wore a troubled expression, hesitatingly said, "But, Miss Double Leaf, you’ve just been..."
"That’s right, I was just attacked, surviving was truly a stroke of luck."
The girl lazily crossed her legs and looked at him with a scornful gaze: "Right in the Inner Ring District, right in front of your Academy City’s landmark [Comprehensive Library], surrounded by a group of unidentified people for a full twenty minutes, less than seven kilometers from this Obsidian Tower, where were your people?"
The elf elder’s face froze, he embarrassingly lowered his head: "This..."
"I just need rest now, not explanations, get out."
As an official member of the Miracle City Exchange Group, Double Leaf naturally had the right to be arrogant after being subjected to such a vile incident; in fact, her attitude was already considered quite restrained, at least compared to Double Leaf’s usual self.
So the middle-aged elf, who was sent over to appease the situation and buy time for the elder council’s investigation, didn’t say anything further, just cast his gaze towards the [Tuning Sage] Mel·Inz, who was standing not far away, hands behind his back watching the scenery outside the window.
This white-haired man who looked just over twenty but was actually not yet forty was a seated member of the Miracle City’s Council of Truth and also the leader of this exchange delegation to Academy City.
"Just do as she says."
With shoulder-length white hair, a gentle and elegant demeanor, and light azure eyes, the [Tuning Sage] smiled warmly, turned his head, and nodded slightly at the elf elder, saying lightly: "With me here, the child will be very safe, and even if something happens, the responsibility won’t fall on you."
Upon hearing the sage’s words, the elf elder, who had been in an awkward position since earlier, breathed a sigh of relief and bowed to Mel: "Alright, then I’ll be going now, feel free to call if there’s anything needed."
"Mm."
Mel smiled, then watched as the elder and his two guards accompanying him headed towards the door, raising an eyebrow just as they were about to leave: "Wait."
"Lord Mel?"
The elf elder turned back in puzzlement to look at the sage, whose every move and word exuded elegance, respectfully asking: "What other instructions do you have?"
"No instructions, just a simple reminder, I just said ’do as she said’."
Mel looked at Double Leaf with a smile as warm as spring on his face, saying lightly: "If I’m not mistaken, young Double Leaf just said ’get out’?"
The elf elder’s expression changed suddenly, his face filled with astonishment: "You..."
"I completely understand your reluctance to let the elder council lose face, so it’s okay."
Mel adjusted the standing collar of his long dark green magic robe, then whimsically whistled.
At the sound of the whistle, the door to the rest room suddenly burst open as if struck by some colossal force, and in an instant, the elf elder and his guards all tumbled to the ground in a comical posture, then were driven out of the rest room by some scarcely visible force.
They had truly ’rolled’ out, and according to the feedback from Double Leaf’s released Eye of the Mage, they rolled at least halfway down the corridor before awkwardly halting with an OTZ posture using their chins.
"Hmm, that should do it, right?"
Mel winked playfully at Double Leaf and then slowly closed the door to the rest room, elegantly adjusting his gloves.
"I don’t believe I asked you to do it like that?"
Double Leaf, who never actually intended for the elder to ’roll out’, twitched her lips, narrowing her eyes at Mel, who was all smiles: "With that roll, wouldn’t the elder council pay more attention to me?"
Mel shrugged, his poised elegance momentarily disappearing like an illusion, replaced by a mischievous nonchalance, spreading his hands: "I didn’t want to either, but since young Double Leaf, you’re an official member of our Miracle City delegation, even if you don’t mean it, and neither do I, we still have to save face for Miracle City."
"That’s indeed the case, sister Double Leaf,"
Sitting in the corner of the rest room since earlier, Ivy·Lehman giggled, crossing her little boots with a smile: "But you don’t need to worry, even if they hold grudges, they won’t hold them against minor figures like us. Besides, they were in the wrong to begin with, twenty full minutes right in the Inner Ring District of their Academy City, right in front of their Comprehensive Library, letting just those three roll out was already quite courteous."
The atmosphere of Mel the sage had changed completely from earlier; he smacked his lips and then playfully flopped onto the sofa opposite Double Leaf, happily saying: "I heard you were seriously injured, Kenneth was furious, haha, if you really died there today, young Double Leaf, I think he might have come straight over to confront the elder council, ten lives on the line~"
