"Glaze Pavilion, huh..."

Motan smacked his lips and mused thoughtfully, "I remember that place is quite expensive, right?"

"The most standard room, no windows, costs only dozens of gold coins a day."

Showering Snow expressionlessly took out a bag of unopened snacks and muttered in a low voice after a silent moment, "But it is indeed quite expensive."

Motan glanced at Showering Snow, who seemed a bit helpless, and curiously asked, "If I remember correctly, you should have received quite a reward from the Holy Spear Knight Academy, right? Even a standard room feels expensive?"

Showering Snow tore open the package casually, took out a snack shaped like a little twist, and nodded slightly, "Feels expensive."

"The food costs are too high, then..."

Motan gazed at the 12 gold coins retail bag of "Super Crunchy" in the other’s hand and thoughtfully said, "And having enjoyed the high-end treatment at the Holy Spear, it might be hard to settle for an ordinary place?"

The girl’s face stiffened and two blush spots appeared on her cheeks.

"Haha, nothing to be embarrassed about. As the saying goes, it’s easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but difficult the other way around. Everyone is actually the same; it’s nothing shameful."

Motan smiled at the girl next to him, who was a bit embarrassed after Motan hit the nail on the head, and then took out a bottle of sweet lemon-flavored soda from his bag and tossed it to Showering Snow, "Here."

"Thanks."

The girl shaped her fingers into a sword, sliced the bottle cap off in mid-air, and took the bottle for a hearty sip, downing half of it before stopping and letting out a cute burp.

"I still have half a case here, keep it for drinking."

Motan took out half a case of about seven or eight bottles of various flavored sodas, placed them between himself and Showering Snow, and cheerfully said, "Although it’s nothing rare, it’s still a carbonated drink that can alleviate some of our nostalgia."

"If you want to drink, just leave the game and grab some from the fridge or go to the supermarket downstairs, even more flavors."

Showering Snow casually put a price on Motan’s ’favor,’ but still promptly put away the half-case of drinks, and said nonchalantly, "But still, thank you."

It’s worth mentioning here, despite Showering Snow’s not-so-warm attitude, it’s ultimately because she always knew this person being so nice to her had ulterior motives, not out of some selfless goodwill; in fact, this guy had quite an agenda.

"To be honest, Miss Showering Snow, life isn’t a novel. Whether a great warrior or a hero, they can’t escape the concerns of food, clothing, and shelter. Even those super-classy heroes of stories that come and go like the wind, dressed in white like snow, still have to pay for their purchases, and if short of money, they have to sleep in the wild."

Motan didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point, "Personally, I reckon you wouldn’t want to return to the days when you had to sell martial arts manuals just to make ends meet."

Showering Snow squinted slightly, saying faintly, "Life is precious; love is even more so..."

"I like you, please go out with me!"

Motan instantly dropped to one knee and, with a magician’s flair, produced a bouquet of fresh flowers, presenting them to Showering Snow.

"Oh."

Showering Snow nodded, brought her forefinger and middle finger together, and a sharp Qi force emerged between them.

"Ahem, just a joke, don’t mind ~"

Motan immediately retracted the flowers, sat back properly on the chair, and remarked seriously, "So, your greatest concern is—freedom?"

Showering Snow nodded softly, the sword Qi dispersing from her fingers, and calmly said, "I prefer an unrestrained life."

"You can live an unrestrained life."

Motan shrugged. With a lighthearted tone, he said, "The Clown Brand could ensure you maximum freedom."

Showering Snow remained expressionless, coldly saying, "Maximum freedom and complete freedom are two different things."

"Naive."

Motan offered this succinct assessment, leisurely stating, "In this world, there’s no such thing as ’complete freedom’; you must realize this. Even in this game, unless you plan to lower your quality of life, it’s the same."

Since it was a very honest remark, Showering Snow, aware of her own financial predicament preventing even a cookie purchase when without money, did not retort.

"Join the Clown Brand, and you can enjoy unlimited supplies of carbonated drinks."

Motan crossed his legs and straightforwardly laid out his offer, "Join Clown Brand, and you will have at least ten thousand gold coins as a monthly allowance, excluding travel, task rewards, and stipends; join Clown Brand, no one will restrict your freedom; you can go wherever you want, do whatever you like; join Clown Brand, I’ll treat you with a high-level officer status, help you accomplish what can’t be done alone; join the Clown Brand, I’ll only give you tasks that suit you, and you control the frequency."

Showering Snow sighed slightly, faintly asking, "Reason?"

"You’re strong, and you can become even stronger."

Motan replied without hesitation.

"There are countless stronger than me."

"That’s just temporary, besides, you — being a player — are much more valuable than an NPC."

"Anything else?"

"Your potential is limitless, and you can train strong ones in batches."

"How is the allowance given?"

"You open an account with the Gold Coin Commerce Association, and I’ll deposit funds monthly."

"How about the unlimited supply of soda?"

"Know Phyllis Graham, the Saint of Wealth Church? She’s my strategic partner, and soon, by simply mentioning my name, you can collect unlimited carbonated drinks from any of her direct-selling stores."

"You sure there’s no restriction on my freedom?"

"Correct, I’ll only occasionally send you tasks, and you have the right to refuse, but these tasks come with compensation."

"Including helping you train others in swordsmanship? Saying beforehand, I’m quite picky."

"No problem; those you dismiss, I wouldn’t approve either."

"The suitable tasks for me, how is that determined?"

"You enjoy challenging the strong; I’ll find suitable targets for you."

"You want me to be an assassin?"

"To be exact, just as a side gig."

"I don’t like reckless killing of innocents."

"Then I will find targets that won’t burden your conscience, or select jobs that don’t require killing."

"What do Clown Brand’s officer ranks mean?"

"You’ll have many underlings at your disposal, abundant resources at your fingertip, extensive funds to indulge, and many top-notch individuals across various domains who can assist."

"Sounds good."

"So, you’re agreeing?"

Motan pulled out a beautifully crafted card from his pocket and waved it gently.

"I’ve always thought being a high-ranking member of some organization sounds cool."

Showering Snow smiled faintly, softly replying, "Of course, the main reason is you’ve genuinely offered me ample benefits, and I’m confident I deserve this preferential treatment."

Motan smirked and handed the card to the girl, "So this is a win-win transaction."

After scanning the item information, Showering Snow nodded gently and casually stored it in her bag, "Hmm, sounds pretty stylish."

Motan blinked pleasantly and said, "What an honor; in any case, welcome to join the Clown Brand, Lady Spade A."

"Mm, let’s go."
