Fleeing from Konoha
Chapter 1251 - 128: Calm Restored (Part 2)
Freed from the restraints of the Gold Sand Rope, Shukaku opened its arms wide, laughing maniacally as if it had finally gained its freedom:
"Hahaha, I'm finally free! You wretched Hidden Sand fools, prepare for my revenge!"
In ancient times, there was no enmity between the Tailed Beasts and humans.
Both sides lived peacefully, minding their own business, without interfering with each other.
But there were always some humans who, in their quest for power, ignored the Tailed Beasts' wills, sealing them to become part of their own strength.
Afterward, the Tailed Beasts became synonymous with disasters and evil.
This marked the beginning of the conflict between Tailed Beasts and humans.
The previous Jinchuriki, Bunbuku, came from a temple in the Land of Wind and was a highly respected monk.
Unwilling to kill, he refused the previous Kazekages' demands to use Tailed Beasts to wage war, for which he suffered imprisonment by the Hidden Sand Village.
Though he was a Jinchuriki, Bunbuku formed a deep friendship with Shukaku, who was supposed to hate humans.
Shukaku had once mocked Bunbuku for being foolish, yet Bunbuku remained compassionate, unwilling to let others suffer, even at his own expense.
Even when unfairly abused by the Hidden Sand Village, he did not kowtow to power.
Thus, Shukaku harbored no fondness for the Hidden Sand Village.
Not only had they wronged its friend, but they also intended to enslave it even after Bunbuku's death.
Human selfishness and desire are like an inexhaustible poison, driving them to punish the Tailed Beasts in the name of 'justice.'
Sadly, old man, humans are bound to disappoint you. The so-called peace never existed. Shukaku looked at the Hidden Sand Ninja, who hated and despised it, with disdain.
Hatred?
If you talk about hatred, having lost its freedom for so many years, it was the one who should hate the most.
It was living a peaceful life, disturbed by those humans with ulterior motives.
What reason do they have to hate? What right do they have to be resentful?
Recalling the peace envisioned by the Immortal a thousand years ago, Shukaku had seen and grown through much over the millennium.
In this thousand years, it learned only one thing.
And that is to resent humans!
The peace spoken of by the Immortal likely never existed.
Humans could not obtain its power either.
Bunbuku's sense of justice moved it, but… too weak!
Even though it acknowledged this in its heart, its Chakra would not acknowledge Bunbuku.
Power and will are indispensable to truly subdue the Tailed Beast.
Excessive power can lead humans to arrogance.
In arrogance, one might lose oneself.
Thus, the Perfect Jinchuriki is so rare.
Moreover, due to the Tailed Beast's influence, a Jinchuriki is feared and resented by those around them, their inner self easily twisted.
For this reason, Shukaku found a human like Bunbuku to be a rarity.
If not for the lack of great power, perhaps he could have become a Perfect Jinchuriki.
What a pity.
The Immortal from a thousand years ago is gone.
People like Bunbuku, with whom one can befriend, have also passed away.
Therefore, for humans, Shukaku was left with only revenge.
After being imprisoned all these years, it was time to pay them back with interest.
Thus, after taking over Gaara's consciousness, Shukaku's first thought was to massacre the Hidden Sand Village.
Tear apart every Hidden Sand Ninja in sight!
"Is that Shukaku's own voice? It seems Gaara has entirely given up struggling, this is bad..."
That evil laughter was Shukaku's unique tone.
Having suppressed Shukaku numerous times, Rasa had a 'long-standing relationship' with Shukaku.
"Yes, Kazekage-sama, your son's hatred for you is so exaggerated that even a Tailed Beast like me is surprised... Moreover, you can't use your full strength now! Hahaha, so destroy everything for me!"
While inside Gaara, Shukaku was not entirely clear about outside affairs.
For revenge, Gaara was willing to completely betray the Hidden Sand, even his father Rasa.
The past hatred and fear for Rasa now manifested in using Shukaku to take revenge on Rasa, his father!
This is everything Gaara confessed to it!
It was also a fair trade between a human shrouded in darkness and a Tailed Beast.
Thus, he offered both his spirit and body to Shukaku, no longer stubbornly resisting, allowing Shukaku to erode his consciousness, erasing 'Gaara' from the world entirely.
All for revenge!
To Shukaku's words, Rasa could not refute.
He never anticipated that Gaara would overcome the barrier of fear, resolutely picking up weapons to attack him.
Meaning Gaara's hatred for him as a father overpowered his fear!
Which led to tonight's Shukaku rampage.
"Your determination to overcome fear is truly a rare will, Gaara..."
Staring at Shukaku's wildly laughing face, Rasa took a deep breath, as if through Shukaku's eyes, he saw the deeply hidden light of revenge.
Was I wrong?
Rasa introspected.
He thought inducing fear would make Gaara obedient.
But Gaara crossed that barrier, meaning as a Jinchuriki, he was no longer a stable vessel.
Even if suppressed once, he would go berserk anytime, attempting to assassinate him, the Kazekage.
"Now that the contemplation is over, just die!"
