Yvonne paused and said, "I’m fine now. Don’t worry."

She walked past James to the bathroom.

James followed her.

"Then I’ll go with you."

Yvonne did not stop her. Anyway, she did need someone to help her.

Therefore, she went to wash up, and left with James.

"Where are we going?"

James drove the car out and asked Yvonne.

Yvonne sat in the passenger seat. Hearing his question, she paused and said, "Let’s go to the flower shop."

"Okay."

James did not ask any more questions and drove the car to a flower shop.

Yvonne opened the door and got out of the car, followed by James. The two of them entered the flower shop one after the other.

Yvonne walked around the flower shop and finally picked up a bouquet of lilies.

Seeing this, James hurried to pay the bill.

After the payment was made, the two returned to the car with flowers.

James waited for Yvonne to put the flowers away before asking, "What next?"

Yvonne replied, "Let’s go to the cemetery."

James was slightly stunned, but he didn’t ask anything and drove the car away.

About an hour later, the car arrived at the cemetery in the suburbs.

Yvonne unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car. She took out the bouquet in the back seat and said to James, who had also gotten out of the car, "If you don’t mind, come with me."

James nodded and stretched out his hand. "Let me carry the flowers."

Yvonne paused for a moment before handing the flowers to him.

Then, the two entered the cemetery together.

Under Yvonne’s lead, they quickly arrived at the White family plot. However, when the two of them walked over, they saw a familiar figure. Who else could it be but Brant?

"Why is he here?"

Yvonne was confused.

James also saw Brant standing in the cemetery. He frowned and asked, "Do you still want to go over?"

"Why not?"

Yvonne snorted. "If he has the guts to visit my mother, why should I hide from him?"

As she spoke, she walked over.

Seeing this, James followed her.

When Yvonne walked over, Brant noticed her. He was filled with excitement. "Yvonne..."

Yvonne did not pay any attention to him. Her cold gaze fell on a bouquet of daisies in front of the tombstone. It was obvious that these daisies were brought by Brant.

Yvonne felt it ghastly. He did not even know what flower her mother liked.

She was very upset, so she squatted and threw the bouquet of daisies aside.

"What are you doing?"

Brant hurriedly picked up the bouquet of daisies and patted it.

Yvonne snorted coldly. "You don’t even know my mother’s favorite were lilies."

As she spoke, she stretched out her hand to James.

Only then did James hand over the lilies in his hand.

Yvonne took the bouquet and placed it on the tombstone.

Under her mother’s brilliant smile, the beautiful bouquet of lilies seemed brighter and more brilliant.

They looked much more pleasing to the eye.

Brant sighed.

"Your mom loves daisies the most."

As he spoke, he crouched down.

"Nonsense."

Yvonne retorted, "How could my mother like daisies? In my childhood, there were lilies all over the house."

Brant did not speak immediately.

Instead, he put down the bouquet of daisies, paused for a moment, then said, "Your mother’s favorite flowers have always been the daisies, and she says that daisies

represent romance and innocence. She wanted to always retain her pure love for me."

"But why were there only lilies in my childhood?" Yvonne retorted.

Brant sighed softly before explaining, "That’s because I like lilies."

His voice was a little choked up.

Yvonne, on the other hand, was stunned.

Did her mother really like daisies?

No, she didn’t believe it.

"You can say whatever you want. After all, my mother is no longer here. No one will be able to refute you."

She was unconvinced.

Brant did not continue the topic. Instead, he slowly stood up and looked at James, who was standing by the side. He said, "Thank you for taking care of her these two days."

James said, "This is what I should do as her husband."

"Anyway, thank you."

After that, Brant paused and said, "I want to talk to Yvonne alone."

His meaning was very clear.

James did not agree immediately. Instead, he looked at Yvonne.

Yvonne did not look at him and said directly, "I have nothing to talk to him about. You don’t have to go away."

Her attitude was firm.

James shrugged and said to Brant, "Sorry, I can’t agree."

Brant had already expected this result. He had waited here specially to see her and find a chance to talk, but he didn’t expect her rejection.

He paused for a moment before speaking. "Yvonne, do you really want to sever all ties?" Yvonne asked, "Is that important?"

In the two days when she had been lying in bed, she had thought a lot. That day, she ended their father-daughter relationship a little hastily, but she did not regret it.

"It’s important. Yvonne, you are my daughter, and you will be my daughter for the rest of my life. How can we sever all ties?"

"Even if I can’t, I have to."

Yvonne said coldly.

Brant frowned. "Yvonne, I know you hate Dad, but in my position, I can’t help it. The White Enterprise is a big company, and I need your aunt’s help."

"Thus, between my mother’s innocence and her help, you chose her, right?" Yvonne sneered.

Brant was silent for a moment, then said, "Yes, perhaps your mother’s innocence is more important to you, but did you know? In your grandfather’s eyes, your aunt was far more important than your mother."

"So what?" Yvonne interrupted. "Even if you push all the blame to Grandpa, does that mean you are blameless? To Grandpa, Mom is just a replaceable daughter -in-law but you are the one she loved. She gave her whole life to you, yet how did you treat her?"

"I don’t deny this. I feel guilty about her, but you don’t know the situation of the White Family at all. You must be curious about why the White Family has never allowed women to intervene in the company’s affairs, but your aunt is an exception."

Yvonne did not answer Brant’s question. She was once curious, but she did not care anymore.

When he saw that she didn’t answer, Brant continued. "That’s because your aunt didn’t hesitate in the slightest to use all the inheritance her parents left behind to help the White Family survive a crisis. It was your grandfather who promised she would always have a share in the White Enterprise."

After listening to Brant’s explanation, Yvonne was slightly stunned. She had not expected this.

However, it had nothing to do with her.

She snorted coldly. "What does that have to do with me?"

...

"It affects you of course. It’s precisely because of this that I gave your mother company shares against your grandfather’s opposition. Unfortunately, before I could give her the shares agreement, she..."

Brant closed his eyes and did not continue.

However, when Yvonne heard this, she did not waver at all.

She snorted coldly and said, "You’ve said so much to me because you want to defend yourself about your selfishness and incompetence. I don’t want to hear anymore. I’ve said everything I should say. There’s nothing left to say."

As soon as she finished speaking, she paid no further attention to Brant. Instead, she took out a small square towel that she had prepared from her handbag and wiped her mother’s portrait before she said slowly, "Mom, I wanted to tell you the truth about what happened back then. Everything was done by Grace White. Don’t worry, I won’t let her go unpunished."

She paused for a moment and continued, "I wanted to talk to you more, but unfortunately, someone I don’t want to see is here, so I won’t say anything more. Don’t worry, I will definitely avenge you."

After speaking, she slowly stood up and said to James, "Let’s go."

"Yvonne..." Brant went forward to stop her.

However, Yvonne stared at the figure in front of her and said coldly, "Get out of the way."

"Yvonne, don’t go looking for your aunt on a whim."

Brant said anxiously.

Yvonne found it funny.

"Why can’t I take revenge on her? Is it because she helped the White Family? What a joke."

She snorted.

Brant’s face was complicated.

"Just listen to Dad once."

Yvonne felt that it was ridiculous. Not only had he not helped her mother, but he was trying to stop her now. He had really displayed his selfishness and cowardice to the fullest.

Without another word, she walked past him. "Yvonne, just listen to dad." Brant shouted at her back.

However, his words were ignored.

On the way back from the cemetery, Yvonne remained silent for a long time before saying, "Is there any way to punish Grace White? I need your help."

Hearing this, James turned around and said, "That’s easy."

After saying that, he took out a document from the glove compartment and threw it over.

"Take a look at this first."

Yvonne picked up the document and flipped through it. However, she frowned at some professional terms in it.

"What are these?"

She didn’t know much about these commercial terms.

James looked over and asked, "Do you know how Grace White survived the last stock market crisis?"

Yvonne shook her head.

James said, "She used the loopholes in the stock market to forge all kinds of transaction data, which allowed shareholders to regain their confidence. But false data can’t stand up to verification. These are all the evidence of her manipulating the stock market. As long as these are handed over to the shareholders, she will be sued."

"Then... will she go to jail?"

Yvonne asked.

"Of course, if she is penalized, jail will at least be five years."

James answered honestly.

Five years?

This was too light a sentence for her mother’s life.

But it was better than nothing.

She paused for a moment and said, "Then I’ll hand in these."

Hearing what she said, James smiled and rubbed the top of her head. "You don’t have to worry about this. I’ve already asked someone to hand it in."

"Handed in?"

Yvonne was surprised.

James nodded and looked into her slightly disappointed eyes. He seemed to understand her and said, "You wanted to hand it in yourself, didn’t you?"

Yvonne nodded. Although she did not have the ability to fight Grace White, she

wanted to do her best and not ask James for help in everything.

James naturally knew what she was thinking. He said, "It’s not that I didn’t want to give you a chance, but professional matters should be handed over to the professionals. Only in this way can you achieve twice the result with half the effort."

Yvonne did not quite understand.

James continued, "Didn’t I just say minimum five years? There could be heavier penalties."

"What’s the heaviest?"

Yvonne was still confused.

James nodded and said, "Yes, the heaviest penalty is life without parole."

"You mean Grace White might be sentenced to life imprisonment?"

"You can say that, but it depends on the trial." James said.

Hearing this, Yvonne understood.

If Grace White could be punished severely, that would be for the best.

Nevertheless, as long as she could be punished, her mother could rest in peace.

Thinking of this, she looked at James, her heart full of emotions.

"Thank you."

"I promised you from the beginning." James said softly.

Yvonne had indeed told James that she hoped Grace White could go to jail.

However, when she said that, she did not expect it to be achieved so quickly.

Originally, the time limit she set in her heart was one year. After all, she knew Grace was not easy to deal with.

Who would’ve thought that it’d be accomplished in just a few months? This was much faster than she had expected. "Then...what will happen to White Enterprise?"

She remembered to ask with concern.

After all, Grace was closely tied to White Enterprise.

Hearing her question, James was gratified. He said, "The White Enterprise may go bankrupt. However, it depends on your final choice."

"My choice?"

"Yes, if you want me to help..."

"Impossible."

Yvonne rejected without hesitation. "Since he cares so much about the big picture, let him have a taste of the destruction of the big picture."

She turned her gaze outside the window.

James could tell that she was not telling the truth.

Just like when she was in the cemetery, if she really didn’t want to see Brant, she could have avoided him.

But she still went up to him.

This proved that she hadn’t completely cut off all ties with her father.

But since she refused to admit it, why would he expose her?

After returning to her apartment, Yvonne went back to her bedroom.

James received a call from Hammer, who said that the evidence of Grace White’s crime had been delivered, and if there were no accidents, the case would be filed soon.

Indeed, there was a result after three days.

Early in the morning, James deliberately pulled Yvonne in front of the TV.

"What are you doing? I haven’t washed my face yet."

"Do it later. It’s about to start."

James turned on the TV as he spoke.

Yvonne was puzzle. She had just started washing her face when he had pulled her out of the bathroom. There was still some foam remaining on her face.

She had thought that something big had happened to him, but she didn’t expect that he would ask her to watch TV with him.

But didn’t he not watch TV?

Yvonne’s heart was filled with doubts.

"Exactly what are you doing?"

She pulled out a wet towel to wipe her face.

James glanced at her and noticed the foam on her face. He took the wet towel to wipe them off for her and said, "You will know later."

He had a mysterious look on his face.
