Five Broken Beast Husbands, One Wicked Female with a Pocket Dimension
Chapter 88: The Village is Gone
Chapter 88: Chapter 88: The Village is Gone
Qiao Suluo was so stunned by his breathtaking appearance that she forgot to react. She even felt as if she had forgotten how to breathe.
He was very tall. Looking down at her from his commanding height, he asked, "Are you willing to take me as your master?"
"Take you as my master?"
Qiao Suluo found this incredibly sudden. She was completely unprepared and had never even considered taking a master.
"If you take me as your master, I will teach you my skills. However, since you are currently too weak, I can only pass on some basic abilities for now.
"Once you learn them, you can improve your own strength and also help your Beast Husband awaken his superpower."
Hearing this, Qiao Suluo instantly dropped to her knees. "Master, please accept your disciple’s bow."
With that, she quickly kowtowed three times.
The man looked at her with gratifying approval. He reached out a long, slender finger—as cold and flawless as carved jade—and gently tapped her forehead. A cool, soothing sensation instantly washed over Qiao Suluo, and her mind was suddenly flooded with a massive amount of information.
There was simply too much to process, including countless mysterious characters.
She could even sense an immensely powerful aura emanating from him.
"What are these characters?"
"Comprehend them slowly, and you will naturally understand."
An unknown amount of time passed before the man finally lowered his hand. However, as soon as he did, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
"Master, are you alright?"
"It’s nothing."
"What can I do for you, Master?"
"You possess the Purification Ability and carry a tremendous amount of luck. You are a daughter of destiny, which means the Heavenly Dao has chosen you. Before you fully mature, your only task is to protect yourself..."
Her master told her many things, all of which she tried her hardest to memorize.
"Alright, time is running out. You should head back now."
With a sweep of his sleeve, he prepared to send her back.
"Master, I still don’t know your name."
"My name is Ji Xueyi."
As his voice echoed in her ears, Qiao Suluo’s Divine Sense returned to her body.
When she woke up again, she found herself at the foot of the mountain in the Ancient Secret Forest, alongside Chu Moyuan and Bai Qianluo.
Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan had also just woken up. "What happened?"
They even wondered if it had all been just a dream.
However, the vivid realism of their experiences told them that none of it was fake.
Chu Moyuan said, "I was supposed to take the second half of the night watch, but for some reason, I fell asleep. When I woke up, we were here."
He found the whole situation incredibly bizarre.
Qiao Suluo wanted to explain, but she remembered her master’s instructions. There were certain things she couldn’t reveal, including anything about him.
"Maybe some force within the Secret Realm sent us directly out," she said. "But I had a strange dream. It feels like my mind was suddenly filled with a lot of knowledge."
As Qiao Suluo spoke, she looked down and saw a Spirit Ring on her finger. This was a gift from her master. She had already claimed ownership of it with a drop of her blood. Inside, it contained numerous items, including Spirit Stones used for testing superpower talent.
Her master had mentioned that Beastmen from a thousand years ago used these stones to measure their innate abilities.
Bai Qianluo looked at her with deep concern. "Do you feel unwell anywhere? Does your head hurt?"
He didn’t care whether she had learned anything new; his only concern was her physical well-being.
Qiao Suluo shook her head. "I’m fine. Let’s head home first."
"Alright."
However, when Qiao Suluo and the others finally arrived back, they discovered the village had been reduced to a complete wasteland.
The crops planted by the village Beastmen were entirely wiped out, and all the houses had collapsed.
Qiao Suluo’s expression instantly changed. "My parents and my brothers... where are they?"
A sudden wave of intense terror and panic surged in her heart.
She didn’t even know what had happened here.
Bai Qianluo stepped forward to inspect the area. "It looks like a flood swept through and submerged everything."
Qiao Suluo’s eyes darkened. She hurriedly ran toward the easternmost end of the village, only to find that the house where her parents lived was also in ruins.
It was completely empty inside.
Her face turned pale.
Seeing her like this, Bai Qianluo felt his heart ache. He pulled her into his arms and softly comforted her. "Mom, Dad, and your brothers will definitely be fine.
"They might have relocated somewhere else."
However, Cat Beastmen didn’t know how to swim. The area where their White Cat Clan tribe resided was situated in a low-lying basin surrounded by mountains. If a torrential rainstorm hit and they couldn’t escape in time, they could easily drown.
Qiao Suluo nodded. She forced herself to calm down quickly so they could focus on finding her family.
Although she hadn’t been in this world for long since transmigrating, her parents and brothers had treated her exceptionally well. She had gradually developed a sense of belonging here and already considered them her true family.
Because of this, she was genuinely terrified that something had happened to them—especially since Cat Beastmen were naturally incapable of swimming.
Chu Moyuan carefully scouted their surroundings. "I caught a scent. There are many Beastmen up on the mountain."
As a Snake Beastman, his true form granted him an exceptionally keen sense of smell.
Qiao Suluo’s expression shifted. "Then let’s go up the mountain and take a look."
Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan accompanied her up the back mountain.
Upon reaching the higher ground, they happened to see several female Cat Beastmen foraging for mushrooms.
When the women spotted Qiao Suluo, they became incredibly excited and enthusiastic. "Oh my, Miss Qiao! You’ve finally returned! Your parents and brothers have been worried sick about you.
"That’s right, they were so afraid something had happened to you."
"Ladies, are my parents and brothers alright?"
They nodded. "They’re doing just fine. It’s just that it rained heavily a few days ago, and a massive flood submerged our entire Cat Clan Village. Fortunately, everyone managed to evacuate safely to the mountain.
"A few neighboring villages lost some Beastmen, but everyone in our village survived.
"It’s all thanks to that first-aid method you taught everyone earlier. We managed to save a few drowning villagers. Otherwise, who knows what would have happened."
As they recounted the events, the women sighed in lamentation while looking at Qiao Suluo with profound gratitude.
Back then, many had felt that learning the life-saving technique was unnecessary, and some were even reluctant to offer gifts as a token of appreciation.
Who could have expected that it would ultimately save their lives?
After this incident, there wasn’t a single person in the village who wasn’t grateful to her.
"We didn’t have time to gather our belongings, and all the rice and vegetables we planted got flooded. All our hard work was for nothing, and our food supplies are gone. Sigh...
"Thank goodness you also taught us how to identify edible mushrooms, Miss Qiao. Everyone has been foraging for them over the past few days to fill our stomachs. Without them, we definitely would have gone hungry..."
The Beastmen eagerly poured out all their recent experiences to Qiao Suluo.
Only then did she finally understand the full scope of what had happened.
It turned out a massive flood had struck the outside world as well.
Their Cat Clan Village was indeed located in a remote, low-lying basin, making it incredibly dangerous when river levels rose during heavy rains.
Fortunately, her parents and the rest of her family were safe.
If they lacked food, they would just have to find more. Besides, she had the Space Mall; she would never let her parents and brothers go hungry.
Naturally, when the women noticed Chu Moyuan standing behind Qiao Suluo, they were momentarily taken aback. They all remembered that she had sold him off, so they hadn’t expected her to bring him back.
The chief had told them that his daughter had changed for the better, and now, everyone truly believed it.
"Ladies, where are my parents staying right now?"
"Just head that way. They’re in the cave over there."
At present, most of the villagers were taking shelter in the mountain caves. Since no one knew if the torrential downpours would return, they didn’t dare go back down to rebuild the village.
It had been constantly drizzling over the past few days as well.
Therefore, their best option was to stay on the mountain and wait things out.
