Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Mate Mark

Bai Qianluo’s body trembled violently; the beast within him seemed to be howling, desperate to break free. Yet, he fought to suppress it with sheer willpower, restraining himself to accommodate Qiao Suluo’s feelings.

His aloof lips were like unmelting thin snow, carrying a refreshing coolness, but his breath was scorching. The moment his lips captured her breath, a numbing tingle surged through her entire body.

Hearing his sudden question, Qiao Suluo’s face instantly flushed red. Of course she liked it. She couldn’t help but look up at Bai Qianluo. Meeting the deep, lingering affection in his eyes, her own gaze felt as though it had been scalded.

Bai Qianluo’s pale, cold fingers gently caressed the reddened tips of her ears, tucking a damp strand of hair behind her ear. "Hmm?" he murmured, his voice hoarse.

He was stubbornly pressing for her answer. Especially when his slender fingers rested on her waist, lightly stroking that highly sensitive area. Her body instantly melted into a puddle of spring water, her heart racing. "I... I like it."

A suppressed sigh escaped Bai Qianluo’s lips. "Good. As long as you like it."

He released her slightly, laying her flat on the bed. Leaning over, he rested his fingers on her lips, gently tracing them. A captivating gleam filled his eyes. "I want to be my wife’s true Beast Husband. Not because of the drug’s effects, but because it is what my heart desires, where my soul longs to be."

Qiao Suluo felt a tingling sensation on her lips, and hearing those words inevitably stirred her heart. She stared at him intently and asked, "Do you not mind that I’m fat? I don’t look good right now, either."

The cave was pitch-black, but whenever lightning flashed across the sky, it illuminated the space, allowing Bai Qianluo to see her clearly.

"Why do you think you don’t look good? In my heart, my wife is the most beautiful."

Helplessly, Qiao Suluo reached up to touch his eyes. "That’s just because you still have an eye condition. Once your eyes are completely healed, you’ll see clearly."

Though his condition had improved significantly, his vision likely wasn’t perfectly clear yet. Looking at her was like looking through a beautifying filter. Once his eyesight was fully restored, that filter would inevitably shatter.

Bai Qianluo gazed deeply at Qiao Suluo. He absolutely adored her eyes—so vibrant and beautiful. "Will my wife despise me for being sick, weak, and crippled?"

"Of course not. I’m going to cure you." Qiao Suluo shook her head without hesitation.

"Then my wife can also understand how I feel."

These words left Qiao Suluo stunned. Putting herself in his shoes, she believed him. "Don’t worry. I will definitely lose weight and become beautiful. I won’t saddle you with an ugly wife."

The emotions Bai Qianluo had been holding back could no longer be contained. He lowered his head, capturing her lips as his breath grew increasingly scorching.

"Wait a moment."

Bai Qianluo’s eyes now harbored a desire more searing than a raging inferno. "My wife really knows how to torture me." To make him wait at a time like this.

"Well, when you fell from the upper reaches of the river, it was Chu Moyuan who pulled you ashore and brought you here. He went out to gather some dry firewood and should be back soon."

Bai Qianluo’s aloof brow twitched slightly. He let out a soft cough, suddenly reverting to an expression of fragile brokenness. "Is my wife unwilling now because she cares about him?"

Qiao Suluo hastily explained, "No, no, not at all! It’s just... we need to put up some cover around the bed first. Wait for me, I’ll be quick."

Qiao Suluo was absolutely not prepared to put on a live broadcast for Chu Moyuan. The Beastmen who originally dug out this cave must have been rather particular; the bed they built had a wooden frame around it, perfect for draping animal hides over. The few hides available in the cave were massive—just two would be enough.

"Though I’m guessing since Chu Moyuan despises and loathes me so much, he’ll probably find another cave to sleep in." His personality was visibly aloof and arrogant.

The frame was a bit tall, and Qiao Suluo couldn’t quite reach the top crossbar. Watching her, Bai Qianluo gave her head a helpless yet doting pat. "Let me."

Saying that, he endured the explosive heat coursing through his veins, hanging the hides to completely enclose the bed. Once everything was secure, Bai Qianluo looked down at Qiao Suluo. "Wife, is this alright now?"

Qiao Suluo blushed. "Yes, it’s fine."

Bai Qianluo breathed a sigh of relief. He lifted her into his arms, laid her on the bed, and leaned over her. His lips brushed over her eyes and brow, slowly trailing downward. The intensely pleasant, cool scent emanating from him was like the unmelting first snow of winter, carrying a faint, elegant hint of plum blossoms. It was refreshing to the soul, yet so intoxicating she couldn’t help but lose herself in it.

His kisses were incredibly gentle at first, his aloof eyes bearing only a restrained darkness. But gradually, a mysterious, almost divine ice-blue radiance seemed to emanate from his gaze, resembling a vast, azure ocean that could easily swallow her into its depths.

As Qiao Suluo was swept up and disoriented by the tidal waves of pleasure, Bai Qianluo lowered his head and gently stroked her brow. "Wife, tell me, do you want me?"

Hearing his words, Qiao Suluo snapped back to reality from the trance of his vast, mesmerizing ice-blue eyes. She truly admired him; despite being under the effects of the Combination Powder, he could still endure it all with enough patience to ask such a question.

"Does my wife want me to be her true Beast Husband?" He kissed her eyes, earnestly observing her expression, seemingly trying to gauge her true feelings through her gaze. "Wife, be good, tell me..."

Even at a moment like this, he still maintained an aloof demeanor. Only his eyes and the slight trembling of his body betrayed his deep arousal. Powerless against him when he was like this, Qiao Suluo listened to his repeated questions and finally answered exactly as he prompted. Which, of course, was also her true, heartfelt desire.

Only then did Bai Qianluo summon the towering storm waves. Everything flowed so naturally. Qiao Suluo felt a searing heat bloom on her collarbone, as if a mate’s mark was being imprinted there.

When Chu Moyuan returned to the cave carrying his gathered supplies, he heard the weeping, melodic voice of a female. His expression shifted drastically, and he rushed inside. But upon realizing what was happening, he dropped the firewood in his hands onto the ground.

The thunder and lightning echoing in the sky outside had long since masked the sound of Chu Moyuan’s footsteps. Naturally, Qiao Suluo hadn’t noticed a thing. But Bai Qianluo sensed it.

Catching the scent of another male, a dangerous glint flashed across Bai Qianluo’s aloof brow. However, knowing it was Chu Moyuan, he also knew there was no immediate threat.

"Qian Luo..." Qiao Suluo’s voice was movingly sweet.

"Yes, Wife, it’s fine." Responding to her, Bai Qianluo’s usually cold voice carried a rare, hoarse tremor of a man losing his reason.

Chu Moyuan couldn’t understand it; his manic energy had clearly been soothed earlier, so why did his heart feel even more restless and volatile now? A deep, flickering light crossed his eyes. He couldn’t believe it. Bai Qianluo was such an aloof and heartless individual—how could he actually form a Contract with Qiao Suluo?

To him, this was utterly inconceivable. In his understanding, while Bai Qianluo appeared merely cold on the surface, he deeply harbored a profound disgust for Qiao Suluo. Usually, she wouldn’t even be able to touch his sleeve.

Furthermore, Bai Qianluo exuded a world-weary apathy. He didn’t even care about his own life or death. Even if he was under the influence of the drug, it should have been impossible for him to compromise with Qiao Suluo. Thinking of the recent changes in Qiao Suluo, a thoughtful look settled over Chu Moyuan’s cold, dark eyes.

In the middle of the night, a faint sound suddenly echoed through the cave.

BOOM...

A sudden burst of ice-blue light radiated outward, instantly engulfing the entire cave.

Shocked, Chu Moyuan turned his head toward the bed. At that moment, having purged the drug’s effects, Bai Qianluo was overwhelmed by a surge of power and fell unconscious.
