Chapter 2356 - The Cowardly Luo Yunxiu Clings to Life

Chapter 2356 – The Cowardly Luo Yunxiu Clings to Life

A grand battle raged.

It might have looked like Kui Dong was passively forced to defend himself, but when he attacked, he was extraordinarily fierce and tyrannical. He drew on the full extent of his Eight-Tribulation Undying Realm cultivation base as if his life were on the line.

Moments later, the spectators looked on in a daze.

They’d just seen Su Yi’s heaven-defying strength for themselves, and it was completely beyond the bounds of common sense.

Even someone as mighty as Kui Yuan had to go all out just to fight on equal ground!

Who wouldn’t have been astonished?

And to Su Yi, this battle was unquestionably the most satisfying one he’d found since stepping into the Fortune Realm!

This was what it meant to have found a worthy opponent.

This was also further proof that with this Fortune Realm cultivation base, he really could fight Eight-Tribulation Master Gods.

Of course, this was a clash of his true personal strength, not of external treasures.

Kui Yuan was an Eight-Tribulation Master God long immersed in battle. It wouldn’t be easy to defeat him quickly.

Su Yi guessed that if he wanted to defeat him without external support, he could do it, but he’d have to pay a bit of a price for the victory.

“Die!” As the battle raged, Kui Yuan roared, and an almost transparent flying needle shot out of his mouth, pierced Su Yi’s attacks, and headed straight for his throat.

Clang!!

At a critical juncture, Su Yi used the Sword of Proximity to block.

But then, the hair-thin needle exploded, and a horrifying flood of destructive black power swept outward.

It was strong enough to threaten the life of even a Nine-Tribulation Master God!!

At these close quarters, Kui Yuan was sure that even if he couldn’t kill Su Yi, he could at least badly injure him!

But just as he was preparing to capture Su Yi alive, a black umbrella appeared in front of him.

Practically simultaneously, the River Child entered the scene and swung his sleeve.

Boom!

The horrifying flood of destructive power exploded, the remnants swept away. Nothing remained.

Kui Yuan’s eyes bulged in their sockets. How could a little child have neutralized an attack like that with such ease?

“Your Excellency, this old man is totally dishonest. This was supposed to be a competition of individual strength, yet he tried to catch you off guard with external treasures. It’s truly shameless,” the River Child said with a sneer.

Kui Yuan turned to flee, only for the River Child to reach for him afar and seize him by the throat.

As if he were holding a chicken aloft.

Kui Yuan visibly panicked. Even if you’d hit him over the head, he would never have guessed that a little kid like the River Child would be so unbelievably strong.

Su Yi waved dismissively. Although he and Kui Yuan had yet to determine a victor, he’d already tested and confirmed his current strength.

“Your Excellency Su, spare me! I…”

Crunch!

Kui Yuan’s skull cracked, and the River Child sent him flying with a kick. He flew into the air, then exploded like a firework, splattering red blood all over the sky.

The River Child clapped his hands and said, “Eight-Tribulations? Heh. You really didn’t know the meaning of the word ‘death.’”

Yan Beixue and the girl in red broke out in cold sweats.

Outside of battle, the River Child looked like a guileless, adorable little boy. However, the moment he took action, he was terrifyingly brutal. The disparity was just too enormous.

Immediately afterward, both of them were astonished to discover that the River Child looked afraid. He dashed over to Su Yi’s side and clung to his legs with all his might.

Boom!

Practically simultaneously, the power of the Laws surged out of the emptiness.

But when Su Yi raised his hand and drew it through the air… it vanished without a trace.

The River Child felt a massive weight lift from his shoulders.

Yan Beixue and the girl in red, meanwhile, gasped. He just obscured heavenly mysteries! And severed the Laws’ senses! What kind of taboo power was that!?

“Are you convinced now?” Su Yi looked at Luo Yunxiu.

Luo Yunxiu panicked, then said frantically, “Senior, you can exchange my life for Colorful Ambrosia in Seven-Star City!”

Su Yi was stunned.

Yan Beixue was tempted too, but he still couldn’t help but warn Su Yi. “Senior, watch out. This might be another trick.”

The way he addressed Su Yi had changed. Perhaps because he feared it would be overly abrupt, he refrained from calling Su Yi “Uncle Yi,” and chose to call him “senior” instead.”

“Rest assured. If he lied to me, no one can save him, not even in Seven-Star City,” said Su Yi. “Come on, let’s go to Seven-Star City together.”

Luo Yunxiu was instantly mad with delight. He wept tears of gratitude and said, “Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity, Senior. Thank you, Senior!”

The sight of him pitifully begging for his life made the River Child sneer. Still, there was no denying it: sometimes, those with no bottom line, no dignity, and no spine really did live longer.

This was reality. It might have seemed absurd, but in the face of imminent death, most people wouldn’t choose death when there was still a chance at life.

That only made those proud figures unafraid of death seem all the more precious.

……

Seven-Star City was one of the most prosperous cities on the shore of the Endless Ocean, as well as the home of Seven-Star Market.

The Glittering Treasure Pavilion was one of the four great trading companies of Seven-Star City, and it was backed by Spirit Vessel Yao Court.

Su Yi sat alone in a grand hall on its highest floor.

He’d placed the River Child into the Umbrella of Tribulations, as there were too many eyes in Seven-Star City, and Master God Yun He and the others had seen the River Child before. There was no guarantee that no one would recognize him.

Su Yi, however, had come in disguise and didn’t need to worry about that.

Yan Beixue and his daughter, Yan Ruoxian, were waiting in one of the city’s inns.

“Cut the fucking crap! Hurry up and bring me the Colorful Ambrosia!” Luo Yunxiu slammed the table in a rage. “I don’t care how much it’s worth! My father will pay for it all!”

“…” Su Yi didn’t know what to say.

The proprietor of Glittering Treasure Tower was a portly middle-aged man in brocade. When he heard that, he couldn’t help but grimace. “Young Master, the Colorful Ambrosia is supposed to be the main event of the auction we have scheduled in two weeks. If we give it to you…”

Luo Yunxiu’s face was instantly extraordinarily hideous. “I’ll just ask you this. Will you give it to me or not?”

The middle-aged man jumped in fright, then said, “Please wait, young master. I’ll get it for you right now!”

With that, he dashed off.

As soon as he was gone, Luo Yunxiu’s hooliganish temper vanished, and he plastered a toadyish smile on his face. “Senior, once you’ve acquired the Colorful Ambrosia, I’m sure you can treat His Excellency Yan’s Dao Wounds!”

Su Yi said casually, “I’m afraid that your influence isn’t enough to make things happen in the Glittering Treasure Pavilion.”

Luo Yunxiu was briefly stunned, but then, he seemed to understand. His expression was instantly terrifyingly dark. “If Zhan Lin dares to try anything, I’ll be the first to kill him!”

Zhan Lin was the middle-aged proprietor of the Glittering Treasure Pavilion.

Su Yi laughed and smiled noncommittally.

Not long after, Zhan Lin returned.

But he’d brought two more people with him.

One was a man in gray. He had an otherworldly air about him, with white hair but youthful features, and he gripped a purple scepter.

The other was a stern-faced Daoist with his hair in a topknot. He had a highly unusual curved sword on his back.

When Yan Beixue saw the two of them, he looked stricken. He recognized them both immediately.

The former was the third elder of Spirit Vessel Yao Court’s inner court, Mo Yue.

The latter was the master of the treasury, Liu Shangfei!

Both were Undying Realm Master Gods!

After Mo Yu arrived, he glanced at Su Yi with no outward change in expression. “Yunxiu, come here. I have questions for you first.”

Luo Yunxiu’s expression was unsightly. “Elder Mo Yu, I know you have questions, but… please, don’t get involved in this!”

Mo Yu’s brow furrowed. “Your father told you to lead our forces and attack Yan Beixue, so why are you here now, and why are you trying to seize the Colorful Ambrosia?”

The cold-faced Liu Shangfei said gravely, “Don’t tell me that something happened?”

As he spoke, he gazed intently at Su Yi.

“Seniors, please don’t create more trouble, okay?” Luo Yunxiu rose, visibly vexed. “I just want a jug of Colorful Ambrosia, that’s all. Is that worth all this fuss? I’ll explain later, okay?” The rightful source is novel✶fire.net

But his behavior only made Mo Yu and Liu Shangfei increasingly convinced that something strange was afoot. Both were suspicious. Something isn’t right here!

“Please calm down, Young Master. No matter what happened, even if the skies fall, they won’t fall on Glittering Treasure Pavillion!” the proprietor, Zhan Lin, said warmly. “You’d best tell us what happened. We might well be able to resolve it for you.”

Luo Yunxiu suddenly pointed at Zhan Lin and cursed him out. “You always ruin everything! Let me tell you, if anything bad happens today, it’ll be your fault!”

Zhan Lin was stunned. Even if you’d hit him over the head, he would never have anticipated that Luo Yunxiu would curse him out like this.

“Forget it. Let me talk to them,” sighed Su Yi.

Luo Yunxiu had just marched in and demanded Colorful Ambrosia. It was obviously suspicious; anyone with half a brain would have hesitated to just agree to his request.

Looking at it from another angle, although Luo Yunxiu was the son of the grand elder, his status wasn’t so lofty that he could just do whatever he wanted here.

“You?” Mo Yu, Liu Shangfei, and Zhan Lin looked at Su Yi.

“Only Colorful Ambrosia can save Luo Yunxiu’s life,” said Su Yi. He just sat there, unmoving, his expression perfectly calm. “It will save your lives, too.”

It was just one light, airy sentence, but the threat was readily apparent.

However, Mo Yu and the others found it absurd. Where does he think he is? This is Spirit Vessel Yao Court territory! Is he sick of living? How dare he threaten us here?

When Luo Yunxiu saw this, his heart thudded in his chest. “Seniors, don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you want to live, you’d best do as you’re told. Whatever you do, don’t…”

Before he could finish, Mo Yu snapped, “Yunxiu, when are you going to fix that cowardly disposition of yours?”

Liu Shangfei and Zhan Lin shook their heads, too. There was no doubt about it; they understood Luo Yunxiu’s character, and they wouldn’t take his words to heart.

Luo Yunxiu was red-faced with anger. He gnashed his teeth and said, “Me? Cowardly? I’m trying to save your lives here!”

Unfortunately, Mo Yu and the others completely disregarded his anger.

“Sir, please tell me. Why have you come to cause trouble in Spirit Vessel Yao Court’s territory?” asked Liu Shangfei with seething murderous intent.

He’d already taken off his curved Dao Sword, and his murderous intent had locked onto Su Yi.

When something strange happened, there was always an explanation.

He naturally wouldn’t look down on this young man who’d appeared out of nowhere, yet was bold enough to act wantonly in their territory.

But… That was the extent of it.

Here in the Endless Ocean, Spirit Vessel Yao Court had never been afraid of anyone!
