Chapter 2244 – The Key to Victory and Defeat

The situation had developed to the point that Di E obviously could no longer sit still, nor could he remain silent. He’d just spoken up and urged the gods into battle!

It was clear that Su Yi’s earlier display of strength was too much for him to remain a bystander.

The atmosphere was stifled. Everyone felt as if they could barely breathe.

Qi Wei nervously transmitted, “Li Sanjiu, have our forces ready themselves for battle! They’re not to hold back, even if they meet their deaths in battle!”

“Understood!” Li Sanjiu nodded.

He realized that the situation had developed to the brink of an eruption. Even if Su Yi wanted to let up, there was no way that’d be possible.

Si Ming suddenly turned to look at Divine Corpse Blood Robe. “Senior, do you regret your decision?”

“Do I regret it? It’s too late for regrets!” Divine Corpse Blood Robe said with seething murderous intent. “We’ll just have to risk our lives and defend Skybright Mountain no matter what it takes!”

“I feel the same way.” Si Ming glanced down at his taboo treasure, the Lotus Seed of Light and Shadow.

Meanwhile, beneath the dome of heaven.

The Dipankara Buddha and Divine Priestess Celestial Rains fought with ever greater intensity. Both of them understood the severity of the situation and knew that it was time to determine victory and defeat.

The Angler’s battle with the Heaven-Swallowing Toad was incomparably fierce, too. Both were already injured, and they fought with their lives on the line.

But both of them knew that they weren’t the key to victory in this game. It all came down to what happened before Skybright Mountain!

Who knew how many old monsters were lying in wait? When the storm fully erupted, the situation was sure to descend into upheaval, and upheaval would give them a chance to exploit.

“Everyone, attack together. Kill him!” Master God Yun He gnashed his teeth and shouted.

“Alright!” Master God Tian Huang’s eyes flashed with murderous intent.

“We’ll retreat and advance together. We cannot hold back!” The Severed Heavens Demon Master said icily.

Shao Yunke and the other nine Nine-Tribulation Master Gods agreed, too.

Their collective murderous intent soared into the heavens. Each of them was a Master God capable of sweeping through all enemies beneath their level, and now, all of them attacked together.

They didn’t use any treasures for fear of falling into the same trap. Instead, they used the strongest secret arts and divine abilities at their disposal, attacking Su Yi from different directions.

This joint attack was even stronger than the last! Heaven and earth seemed to wither and collapse. An air of destruction enveloped the entire landscape. Most of the onlookers couldn’t even open their eyes. Their hearts and minds were completely intimidated.

Over on Skybright Mountain, countless Xi clansmen were overcome with astonishment.

But in the face of this attack, Su Yi just shook his head and waved that rusty old sheath.

Yet another unbelievable scene played out.

A black sword line cleaved through time and space, severing heaven and earth. All of the Master Gods’ attacks were devoured.

The Master Gods had anticipated this, but it was still shocking, and they immediately moved further away for fear of that black line cleaving into them, too.

But this time, Su Yi had no intention of holding back!

He leaped through the air, his black sheath swinging at Master God Tian Huang.

“Dammit! You’ve been targeting me right from the start, you bastard!” Master God Tian Huang’s hair stood on end. Even as he dodged, he seized someone else and positioned them in front of himself.

“Fellow Daoist, you…”

The one he’d grabbed was none other than High Elder Jin Keshui of the Blood River Sword Court.

Jin Keshui was panicked and overcome with rage. Even if you’d hit him over the head, he would never have guessed that Master God Tian Huang would use him as a meat shield without the slightest politeness.

But before he could even struggle, a black sword line flew forth to “welcome” him.

Master God Tian Huang threw Jin Keshui away without the slightest hesitation.

Jin Keshui’s hair and beard bristled with anger, and he circulated the full extent of his cultivation base in a bid to defend himself.

“Shameful.” Su YI laughed coldly, then turned his attention to the other Master Gods.

All of them felt a chill course through them, and they were instinctively on guard. All of them decided to drag things out.

Su Yi’s sword sheath was just too sinister and too destructive. Nothing could stand in its way!

All they could do now was hope that Su Yi couldn’t use a treasure like that repeatedly. When he ran out of strength, that would be the ideal opportunity to attack!

It seemed absurd. The Master Gods were terrifying existences who gazed down at the God Domain with pride, but now, they were scared of a mere sword sheath. All they could do was drag things out. None of them dared to attack.

He immediately reached for the bottle of Seeking Something and drank with relish.

Then, he formed a hand seal and shouted an invocation in a voice that boomed like spring thunder.

Strange and mysterious sword light shot out of the rusted sheath, fusing into the world of reincarnation and suddenly spreading outward.

“No——!”

A desperate, terrified cry rang out.

One of the Nine-Tribulation Master Gods vanished mysteriously into the world of reincarnation, as if he’d evaporated.

The other Master Gods were shocked to the brink of madness. All of them were completely frantic.

The distant onlookers couldn’t see a thing. The mysterious visions of reincarnation completely obscured their field of view. All they could hear were the startled, enraged shouts of the Master Gods.

Even so, the onlookers broke out in cold sweats as they realized that this was Su Yi’s true ultimate killer weapon!

Were that not the case, how could he possibly have blocked the combined attacks of more than ten mighty Nine Tribulation Master Gods at once?”

“Daoist Brother Di E, please, help us! Quickly!” Master God Yun He cried out.

He and the other Master Gods were fighting with their lives on the line, using everything they kept in reserve.

This was helping them stave off the oppressive power of reincarnation, but it wasn’t enough for them to break free. The power of reincarnation, combined with that rusted sword sheath, was dragging them into another world. All of their attacks were devoured!

Suddenly, a fiery red streak of divine light descended from the sky.

It was a dazzlingly bright jade ruler, and it brought with it indescribable, unparalleled power. When it appeared, it melted the skies on all sides. Its searing flames turned heaven and earth into a furnace.

And when the fiery jade ruler landed…

Boom!!

It smashed open a massive hole in Su Yi’s dim world of reincarnation.

This gave the Master Gods inside an opportunity to retreat, and almost all of them fled immediately and with all their might.

Su Yi, meanwhile, coughed up blood and staggered on his feet.

This strike dealt him a heavy blow, and the backlash left him badly injured.
