Chapter 2101 - The Four Forbidden Divine Swords
Chapter 2101 – The Four Forbidden Divine Swords
Celestial Venerate Jade Crane’s argument won the other three Celestial Venerates’ approval.
In their eyes, even the other gods present were beneath their notice, let alone some youngster yet to achieve divinity.
Su Yi took a sip of wine, entirely unperturbed, and laughed. “Since I’m so weak, why are you too afraid to do anything but jibber-jabber? Why not attack me?”
“You’re nothing but a bird in a cage. There’s no need to rush,” Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss said coldly. “We know everything you did in the City of the Beginning and the Deification Star Sea. All you did was rely on the Epoch Spark to control the power of the Laws and alleviate the danger in your path. But this is the Ancient God Domain. The Epoch Spark cannot help you here!”
Su Yi arched his eyebrows. “Is that so?”
Celestial Venerate Profound Frost smiled. “I can tell that you haven’t given up yet. You must think that although the natural order of the Ancient God Domain is damaged, you’ll be safe so long as you don’t leave Heaven’s End.”
Su Yi smiled. “If that’s not the case, why haven’t you attacked yet?”
This was already the second time he’d asked them that. The way the gods saw it, this was blatant provocation!
But the four Celestial Venerates thought nothing of it. All of them remained calm.
“We’re waiting for the others,” Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant said with a gentle smile. “The three other old-timers have yet to arrive. When they get here, we’ll naturally teach you the true meaning of despair.”
His voice was scholarly and amiable, but his words were enough to make one shudder.
The crowd shifted as they realized that all seven Celestial Venerates of the Ancient God Domain planned to participate in this. It was just that three had yet to arrive!
Su Yi, meanwhile, took out his wicker chair and casually sprawled out.
They planned to wait patiently. He naturally wasn’t in a hurry either.
“He… He…” The gods were gobsmacked. They almost dared not believe their eyes.
Su Yi was completely surrounded, yet here he was, casually reclining in a wicker chair! How could he be so bold? He was blatantly disregarding everyone here!
The four Celestial Venerates were stunned too, and all of them felt strange. Does this guy… seriously not know fear?
“Hah!” Celestival Venerate Jade Crane laughed. “I can tell that he really thinks Heaven’s End Divine Mountain can keep him alive.”
With that, she flipped her palm, and a Dao Sword floated into the air.
It was blue-green throughout, as grand as the sky, and divine radiance rippled across its surface like endless tidewaters.
All eyes were instantly upon it.
“Do you recognize this sword?” asked Celestial Venerate Jade Crane.
Su Yi remained sprawled out in his wicker chair. He said distractedly, “If you have anything to say, just say it directly.”
“See that? The little fellow doesn’t even recognize the Boundary Marker Divine Swords that swordsman left in the Ancient God Domain back then,” Celestial Venerate Jade Crow said with a peal of uproarious laughter.
One of the Boundary Marker Divine Swords!
Uproar ensued.
“That’s got to be the Qingyi Godslayer Sword!”
“They say that a long, long time ago, four divine swords maintained the natural order of the Ancient God Domain: the Qingyi Godslayer Sword, the Golden Divine Execution Sword, the Profound Water Divine Prison Sword, and the Fire God-Trapping Sword!
“Each of the four divine swords is a taboo killer weapon. They worked with the power of reincarnation to maintain order in the Ancient God Domain for countless years. I never would’ve thought that Celestial Venerate Jade Crane had gotten her hands on the Qingyi Godslayer Sword!”
“Ah, so it’s that taboo killer weapon!”
……Many of the onlookers’ gazes heated up when they saw the sword. They were overcome with astonishment.
Su Yi was still sprawled out in his wicker chair, but his brow furrowed slightly.
He knew a fair bit about the Ancient God Domain. Naturally, that included the four taboo divine swords.
His first incarnation had left them here, just as he had the Drum of Injustice, Mirror of Acuity, and Staff of Divine Punishment. The four divine swords were crafted to intimidate the gods of the lost epochs and ensure they dared not violate the rules and bring disaster to the populace.
Of course, Su Yi had no way of knowing that the Qingyi Godslayer Sword had fallen into Celestial Venerate Jade Crane’s hands.
There was no doubt about it. The changes to the Ancient God Domain had impacted these four divine swords, giving others a chance to steal them!
Something occurred to Su Yi, and he tried to connect to the sword with the Epoch Spark, but in the end, he couldn’t awaken the weapon.
“Don’t waste your energy. I have refined the sword and made it my own. The power of the Epoch Spark can no longer control it,” laughed Celestial Venerate Jade Crane, her wrinkled face breaking into a smug grin.
Su Yi remained calm. He looked at the other three Celestial Venerates and said, “Do you perhaps have the other three divine swords?”
Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant smiled and pointed at the sword case on his back. “The Golden Divine Execution Sword is inside.”
Clang!
A sharp, ear-piercing sword hum rang out, and the case opened. A streak of golden light took to the sky, glinting as if it had been forged out of gold. Its edge was incomparably sharp, and as it flew, it sliced open countless startling rifts.
This was the Golden Divine Execution Sword!
Celestial Venerate Profound Frost flicked her fingertips, and the shadow of a sword floated into the air, flowing like water. It was deep blue, and its blade seemed to encompass an endless turbulent ocean. The crashing waves emanated imposing sword intent.
“This is the Profound Water Divine Prison Sword,” Celestial Venerate Profound Frost said with a smile.
Then, Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss opened his mouth and exhaled.
Boom!
A swath of firelight exploded into being, connecting heaven and earth. Upon closer inspection, it was actually a sword that looked as if it were made of concentrated lava. Endless flames raged around the blade.
There was no doubt about it. This was the Fire God-Trapping Sword!
When all four taboo killer weapons took to the skies, their combined murderous intent shook the heavens. Their divine radiance interwove, making the entire stretch of heaven and earth quiver and wail.
The distant gods gasped, their hearts and bodies instantly suppressed. The four divine swords were just too powerful. Even just gazing upon them from afar made them feel as if they had knives pressed up against their backs. Chills coursed down their spines!
Su Yi remained seated in his wicker chair. He slowly scanned each of the four divine swords, one by one. Inwardly, he couldn’t help but sigh. The swords my first incarnation left here really are terrifying. They’d be dazzling in any age, and it’d be difficult to find their equal!
“You needn’t keep probing. I really can’t use the Epoch Spark to seize control of the four divine swords,” Su Yi said casually. “But it’s obvious to me that even though you have these four divine weapons, you don’t dare attack recklessly. You have reservations. Or maybe I should say… you’re afraid.”
“Afraid?” The four Celestial Venerates laughed coldly.
Celestial Venerate Jade Crane made no attempt to conceal her disdain for Su Yi. “We might well be afraid of the Laws of Heaven’s End, and we might well fear reincarnation and the Epoch Spark, but we most certainly aren’t afraid of you.”
Su Yi just laughed. He couldn’t be bothered to argue. Mere verbal arguments had always been the most useless of all, especially when there was a large gap in strength. No matter what the weaker party said, it’d be taken for a joke.
In stark contrast, no matter what the stronger party said, others would see it as the epitome of logic and flatter them accordingly, even if it was pure nonsense.
Su Yi took a sip of wine, then leaned back into his wicker chair, closed his eyes, and dozed off.
The four Celestial Venerates’ frowns gradually deepened. When they looked at Su Yi, they saw no sign of panic or unease. On the contrary, he seemed far too calm and composed. Most importantly, his attitude obviously wasn’t feigned.
This seemed unquestionably out of place, to the point that all four of them wondered the same thing. Don’t tell me that kid has some other card up his sleeve?
The gods watching from a distance felt the same way; Su Yi seemed far too calm and clear-headed, as if this had nothing to do with them. They couldn’t help but find this bewildering. Is he bluffing, or is he really just that fearless?
Whoosh!
Suddenly, something came whooshing over from afar.
Three figures appeared before the crowd could even realize what was happening.
The first was a man in worn-out cloth robes and a lotus crown. His eyes sparkled like stars, and two celestial bodies hovered over his shoulders, one on each side.
It was as if he were carrying the sun and moon on his shoulders!
This was Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe!
The others were an elegant, beautiful youth, and a coarse-looking, gaunt man in beast skins.
The youth looked like a promising young scholar, and he hugged a crimson short halberd to his chest.
The man in beast skins had disheveled hair and a tangled beard. His eyes glinted like sabers, and he rode in on eye-catching black thunderclouds.
The youth was called Celestial Venerate Purple Lightning.
The man in beast skins was called Celestial Venerate Burning Wind.
When the last three Celestial Venerates arrived, uproar ensued. They instantly became the center of attention.
Especially Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe, who carried the sun and moon on his shoulders. He was the mightiest of the seven Celestial Venerates of the Ancient God Domain!
When he arrived, Celestial Venerates Fiery Abyss, Profound Frost, Jade Crane, and Tyrant Cloud went up to greet him of their own accord.
Celestial Venerate Profound Frost took it a step further and rapidly recounted everything that had happened.
Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe subtly inclined his head, then looked at the peak, where Su Yi now stood.
“You don’t recognize us, Fellow Daoist?” he said slowly, his voice resounding throughout heaven and earth like a bell.
Many of the gods quickly noticed that something was different here. Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe was addressing Su Yi, a young man yet to become a god, as his fellow Daoist!
“Does it matter whether or not I recognize you?” Su Yi just sat there in his wicker chair. He showed no sign of getting up.
Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe mulled that over. “The past really isn’t worth bringing up again, but I am rather curious. How do you plan to resolve this crisis, Fellow Daoist?”
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, his eyes flashed like lightning, and the sun and moon on his shoulders rose, illuminating each other with their radiance. The entire stretch of heaven and earth started quivering.
As that terrifying imposing aura spread, the entire mountain felt the impact and swayed violently.
Everyone saw it clearly, and with deep dread. Throughout the slopes of Heaven’s End, the power of the Laws surged. This was why, even after all this time, they dared not draw closer to the mountain. The power of the Laws there could eradicate them with ease. Yet now, the Laws of Heaven’s End were under attack by Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe’s imposing aura!
Su Yi, however, laughed dryly. “Who’d be stupid enough to just reveal their trump cards out loud? Would you reveal them?”
Trump cards!
The seven Celestial Venerates, the rulers of the Ancient God Domain, narrowed their eyes.
“We’ve already acquired the four taboo divine swords, and the natural order of the Ancient God Domain is severely damaged,” Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe said softly. “And before we arrived, we sent word of your arrival to the far end of the Path of the Ancient Gods, the Dao Mausoleum Divine Ruin!
“I believe that the Primordial Ancestral Gods you once consigned to the endless darkness have already learned of your return. So given the circumstances, I truly can’t fathom what ‘cards’ you could have beyond the Epoch Spark and the power of reincarnation. Why not reveal them and broaden our horizons?”
As Celestial Venerate Brilliant Universe said this, he took a step forward, and…
Boom!
A terrifying, imposing aura spread from his body. The sun and moon rose from his shoulders, erupting with calamitous and taboo energy fluctuations that bore down on Heaven’s End Divine Mountain.
