Chapter 1185: Do You Remember Now?
Capítulo 1185: Do You Remember Now?
It took Abaddon longer than he wanted to make significant headway with the afflicted gods. And in the end, he still did not get to finish.
Once Lailah saw him sweating again, she immediately called everything off.
She dispensed a tonic she had created amongst Shin and the members of the order. They, in turn, dispersed it among the remaining deities.
After drinking, the gods fell into a deep sleep. Their bodies no longer seemed tormented by the affliction in their minds and rested like the dead.
Abaddon sighed apologetically. “I’m sorry about this, Shin. I’ll be back as soon as-”
Lailah placed her hand over her husband’s chest protectively. “He’ll be back as soon as I’ve medically cleared him, and not a second before.”
Even though he wasn’t the one being scolded, Shin nodded his head fervently. “Mhm, yup, that’s fine, no worries.”
Lailah was the one wife Shin felt uncomfortable being around for long periods of time. She scared him more than everyone else.
Lailah grabbed her husband by the hand and began leading him through a portal she’d made. “Come on, troublemaker…”
Abaddon couldn’t help but feel like he was still being chastised…
Upon returning to his bedroom, Lailah immediately began undressing him.
His body prematurely stiffened at the sudden change in direction. Lailah was so focused she didn’t even notice.
“I’m going to make you a medicinal bath that’ll put you in a sort of fugue state. Once you’re under, I’m going to grab Lillian, and we’re going to take a peek inside of your mind and see what’s…”
Lailah was in the process of pulling off her husband’s pants when his member abruptly sprang free and hit her in the stomach.
For a moment, the two of them stood around in silence as they stared at the throbbing appendage between them.
“…I see that I have misjudged how much energy you had.”
Lailah stared for a few more moments before turning away. “I’m still mad at you, you know?”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.” She folded her arms.
Abaddon knew that most people who spent time around Lailah tended to find her intimidating, but he could never put his finger on why.
In moments like this, her cuteness was extremely apparent, and she seemed far too docile to ever hurt a fly.
Abaddon reached for the back of Lailah’s dress and began to undress her as she had done to him.
“You’ll at least join me in the bath, I hope. Mad or not, you’ll need to check my body’s condition.”
As Lailah’s dress dropped to the ground, Abaddon brought his hands to her wide hips. The feeling of his fingers sinking into her exquisite softness almost cured him entirely.
Judging by the new shade of red in her bronze colored cheeks, Lailah was not wholly unaffected either.
“What are you two doing?”
“N-Nothing!” Lailah blurted.
Bekka appeared out of the nothingness like a ghost who had always been there.
She stared at her unclothed husband and wife suspiciously as she chewed on a large carrot.
“…You guys gonna have sex?”
“”No! /Working on it.””
Lailah and Abaddon stared at each other as if they couldn’t figure out why their answers were so different.
“…Right, well, while I am very excited to sit and watch that, I came to ask how we were doing on the whole memory restoration thing. Your sister is starting to become a little unstable, and she’ll only stare at Nihil from behind corners.”
Abaddon sighed, bringing his hand to the bridge of his nose. “…I’ll try and fix it right now. It should be easier since I’m still-”
“No, you will not!” Lailah elbowed him. “You’re barely on your feet after helping all those ungrateful little urchins today! You might pass out again if you try and use these abilities that we still don’t understand!”
“I can’t just leave my sister to sit and creep out her only kid. I have to do this.”
“You can do it in the morning when you have more energy!”
Bekka let her gaze dip before her husband’s waist. “Gotta say, he looks… plenty energetic to me…”
“Not helping!”
Bekka held her hands up in surrender.
Abaddon suddenly wrapped his arms around Lailah’s waist and pulled her in closer. The flush of red in her cheeks intensified significantly.
“If you’re so worried, then help refill my energy to something you find more acceptable.”
Lailah was finding it difficult to think with the heaviness pressing into her stomach.
“…I’m still mad at you.”
“I can fix that.”
Bekka slowly pulled her phone out of her pocket with a grin. “Hell yeah.”
–
“Come on, little miss. Smile for auntie~!”
Thea wagged her finger over Yggdrasil’s button nose and spoke to her in a cooing voice.
The child on her lap showed her a gummy smile followed by a genuine giggle.
“…I could do that if one of you would let me near the baby.” Nihil grumbled from the floor.
“Sorry. No can do until we can verify that you’re real.” Nubia smiled. “We’re just a little-”
“Yeah, yeah, you’re paranoid because a body-jacking demon lord snuck into the house and was inches away from baby Odie.” Nihil responded in a droll tone. “It still sucks.”
Odie was sitting on the sofa, scrolling through her phone, when she looked up in a clear panic. “Wait, when did that happen?? I haven’t gotten to that part of the story yet!”
Yemaya could only pat her on top of the head to appease her. “Don’t worry, cheekums. Nothing happened to a hair on your precious head.”
Odessa didn’t know if that was as big a comfort as she thought.
“I hope you’re real. I always wanted a cousin, but Aunt Malenia and Aunt Kanami always told me we had pets and that was close enough.” Thrudd said cheerfully.
Nihil cracked open one eye and stared at the red-headed dragon who was the spitting image of her father.
Underneath one arm, she held a bundled-up Courtney whose eyes were red, puffy, and unfocused on anything around her.
She sat so low on the couch that for a moment Nihil thought she had dissolved her bones.
“…What’s wrong with the friendly neighborhood emo?”
Thrudd threw a pillow at him. “She’s not emo, she just likes macabre stuff.”
“…Kinda feels like the same thing.”
“It’s not the same thing!”
Courtney sank lower into the sofa.
“Maybe that’s what’s wrong with me… I’m too creepy, so he ran off to be with someone normal and cute… I hate it here. I hate life.”
Nihil looked towards Thrudd as if to ask, ‘Are you sure she’s not emo? ‘
“C-Courtney, don’t be like that…” Thrudd nudged her gently. “You’re plenty beautiful, and you’ll find plenty of other guys aside from Aj.”
Courtney slumped over sideways when Thrudd nudged her. Her diminishing will to live was reflected in the way that she didn’t even try to sit back up.
“Maybe I should just track him down and kill his wife and put a love spell on him so that he’ll forget all about her… that’s the nevi’im way, right? Fierce, yandere-like pursuit?”
“Yep. Worked for me!”
Apophis and Tiamat nuzzled each other’s noses cutely in front of everyone. The fierce boo’s that arose from the sisters was promptly ignored.
“That’s not true.” Thea chidded. “You don’t have to be forceful. I wasn’t with any of my wives. When things are meant to work out, they’ll just work!”
Everyone in the room gave Thea a droll, unamused stare.
Widely agreed upon as Abaddon’s most beautiful daughter, Thea had never in her life known what it was like to have someone not choose her romantically.
As a result, her words unintentionally made Courtney feel even worse.
“…I’m going to fucking kill myself.”
“What’d I say wrong!?”
“Everything, Barbie doll!”
Thea started to say something again, but Bashenga patted her on the shoulder and shook his head, warning her that it was better not to.
“I don’t see what you’re whining so much about… it was just one guy. Not even like he was a dragon or anything.” Nihil picked his nose.
“I don’t want a dragon, I want my man!” Courtney yelled at the top of her lungs.
“Jesus, I get it…” Nihil murmured. “But the best way to get over somebody is to get over or under someone else. Why don’t you reply to one of those gods who sent you letters earlier?”
Courtney looked physically disgusted. “The very last thing I want is to be with a god. I’m not flattered receiving compliments from people who’ll fuck anything that walks, waddles, trots, or swims.”
Courtney looked towards Tiamat and Ryujin. “No offense, guys.”
“”We get it.”” The dragons held up their hands.
Suddenly, Mira crawled over the sofa so that her face filled up Courtney’s vision.
She smiled at her sister cheerfully and rubbed her cheek.
“You don’t need a relationship to be happy, you know? There are many different kinds of love that are just as fulfilling as romantic ones. And no matter what, I will always love you, little sister.”
Courtney sniffled.
“Oh my god…I’M GOING TO BE IMMORTAL ALONEEEE!!!!”
The tattooed woman buried her face into he nearest pillow and bawled with such an intensity that she soaked the sofa within seconds.
Just as the Tathamet siblings were about to figure out who was going to be next up to console her, they were all seized by a terrible headache and collapsed.
Nihil leapt from his spot to catch Yggdrasil before she could roll onto the floor.
Securing her in his arms, he sighed in relief as he looked around the room full of unconscious dragons.
“Well… at least it’s quiet now.”
