First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 1133: To Be Even

Chapter 1133: To Be Even

Gulban and Yggdrasil hopped through the nexus garden.

The chains that bound them produced a loud rattling with every combined step they took. And yet, it was still quieter than the sound of their arguing.

“Come on, you big bastard! We’ve been over this a thousand times already, just step when I step!”

“I’m doing it, you miserable old tree! I don’t understand why we rushed to come back here when we could have just snuck back into the house!”

“So that cranky scaly bitch could toss us out for talking again?! Hell no, I’d rather come back here and have some peace of mind vs and freedom to say what I want!”

Gulban stared at Asherah’s shack that had been transformed into a one-story house due to their adamant begging.

“…It’s not as nice thou-”

“I know it’s not as nice!” Yggdrasil snapped. “But at least when we come here there’s no drama! If we could just get Asherah to install a TV and a hot tub, we’ll be golden!”

Gulban didn’t know if that was going to happen anytime soon. Despite her gentle demeanor, Asherah was a very ’my house my rules’ type of woman. It was a miracle that she had even allowed the space to be expanded.

“Hey, why don’t you just use your powers to get us to the door?”

“You think I wanna use my ultra mega special divine powers on a washed-up old maker? I think not.”

“Why are you such a little rodent towards me!?”

“Cause if I don’t harass you, how am I supposed to know you’ll stick around? All of your ancestors were pansies who couldn’t take a joke.”

“So I’m your favorite then, half pint?”

“Obviously, you geriatric nut sack.”

Gulban ruffled the girl’s hair affectionately, putting a rather warm mood between them.

It lasted all of five seconds before Yggdrasil opened the door to the house and saw a depressed angel, wallowing in his own self-misery at the bottom of a bottle.

No matter how saddening the imagery of a sad angel sounds, the reality is much more morbid to look at.

Such sour faces should never be present on the emissaries of God.

Yggdrasil walked right up to Michael and placed her hand on his back.

“Hey there, big guy…”

Michael looked down at her with bloodshot eyes. “Divine tree..?”

Yggdrasil smiled at him warmly.

“If you’re going to slit your wrists, don’t do it in the house, it took me a lot of begging to get this place to not look like a shack where homeless people shoot up heroin and fuck each other in the butt.”

Somehow, Michael’s expression became even worse.

If you took a kicked puppy and put it in a human body, it would look just like him.

*Thwack!*

“OWW!”

Asherah brushed hair off the book she’d struck Yggdrasil with. “No more of your foul mouth. If you have nothing nice to say, kindly go into your room for the rest of the day.”

Yggdrasil rubbed her head. “Hey, you don’t hit cute kids! You can hit your children because they look like big ole’ wolf pussies, but I’m a damn treasu-”

Asherah raised her book again.

“Okay, okay, I’m sorryyy!!”

While Yggdrasil developed a new knot on her head, Gulban took Michael’s drink from him.

He brought the glass to his nose and took a simple identifying sip.

“…Whiskey, eh? This is my baby girl’s drink of choice. She says it’s a band-aid for the soul and something to make the heart sing all at the same time. What’s it doing for you?”

Michael stared into the glass before he hung his head as low as it could go without falling off.

“…Absolutely nothing.”

“Well, that’s not unusual either. So you’re not drinking enough, or you did something so bad there’s no running from it.”

Michael held up two fingers for the second option.

“Let’s just say I don’t expect to live very long. My end will be as swift and terrible as the great flood. And I will have no one to blame for it but myself.”

Yggdrasil manifested a razor blade and slowly slid it towards Michael.

*THWACK!*

“I was joking! I was joking!”

Suddenly, the entire house rumbled violently.

Books fell off shelves, glasses slipped from the counters and the lights flickered on and off.

Yggdrasil let out an impressed whistle.

“Oh. So we’re all going to die today. That’s fine.”

Asherah didn’t even have the strength to hit her anymore. She just made a mental note to do it later.

“All of you stay here, I need to-”

Suddenly, the entire roof was removed from the house as if it had been cleanly dissected.

Looming above them was a tremendously large green eye. Twice as big as the sun and several times more domineering.

A deep, guttural roar shook the entire house worse than a dreadful earthquake. The only reason the entire space didn’t come crashing down was that Asherah held it firm.

“Lillian! Calm yourself and let us engage in a rational discussion!! I am sorry for what happened, you must know this!”

Yggdrasil and Gulban’s ears were bleeding horribly.

They turned to each other and used sign language to communicate.

’What the fuck did we miss?!’

’We’d know if you didn’t keep getting us kicked out of places!’

’I can’t help it if I am a being who has to speak their mind!’

Suddenly, Lillian appeared in the home and it was clear that she had not come for philosophical debate.

Her divine appearance was great and terrible to witness. To look upon her was to bear witness to the most terrible incarnation of Death in existence.

Michael couldn’t breathe under the pressure.

Without his powers, he couldn’t even look at Lillian in this form for too long, or else his heart would surely stop.

Asherah was still trying to be diplomatic about things even though she could see Lillian possessed a great anger.

She didn’t want to see something terrible happen to her second eldest after everything that had transpired with Lucifer.

Luckily, Lillian had alternatives to keep things from becoming irreparable.

She hurled a large sickle into the room. The blade stuck in the floorboards and gave off a dire, negative feeling.

“Either he cuts off his own wings to offer to my daughter, or I return home to offer her his heart instead. Make your choice.”
