Chapter 1043: Chapter 508: Lost Land Central Hub_3

Annette choked, meowing a few times. She stopped talking about what she’d just said and went straight into an explanation.

"What you’re seeing in this wasteland is the ultimate scene after Wyrm Dragons rampage. This process of corrupting everything is what provides them with Power, so nobody likes them.

"In some places where Wyrm Dragons squat, it usually takes over a thousand years before a small patch of deathly mire appears. But the center of this island has almost entirely turned into a Land of Death. Without a top‑tier Wyrm Dragon having fully descended here in the past, that would’ve been impossible.

"Which proves this used to be Fafnir’s hunting ground. That swamp we flew over might once have been its bath."

"Fafnir..." A Xiang mouthed the name twice. As Celestial Team Leader, he could gauge this Dragon’s standing in his mind—the true body certainly wouldn’t be weaker than a Transcendent Demon Beast like the World destruction Six Punishments.

What kind of calamity can a completely out‑of‑control Transcendent Demon Beast cause? Just look at the wastelands in the depths of the Demon Disaster Realm and you can glimpse a fraction of it.

And once the Guilds began running properly and linking the world together, the Celestial Groups that rose by benefiting from them also took on certain responsibilities. From then on, no Transcendent Demon Beast in the present world has ever been allowed to cause a Magical Disaster beyond the acceptable threshold.

Flying all the way through this Secret Realm, everyone had already seen those scattered Dwarf structures—some exquisite, some grand and imposing—and could imagine how glorious this small island‑continent once was. Yet all of it had been wiped out by a single Poison Dragon.

"For it to catch the eye of the first Dragon Descendant under Nidhogg, there must be a whole, whole lot of what mortals would call ultimate Secret Treasures here, meow. Definitely not just an ordinary amount."

"Really?" "Really?"

"Really?" "Really?"

As soon as Annette finished, responses came from all directions.

A Xiang and his Cloudwalkers Guild, Liluliss with her face full of eager Adventurer expectation, Farlonio already starting to calculate something... even Diao was curious what ultimate Secret Treasures would look like.

Li Ang sneaked a look at Elaphia—even she raised her eyebrows.

For Blondie Douding, rare and powerful Weapons were also a favorite of the heart, and Dwarves skilled in forging would surely have similar collections.

Looks like everyone has a bit of "greedy Adventurer" blood. Li Ang chuckled inwardly.

Just then he thought of Sif, searched for a few seconds, and spotted her by a railing not far away.

The Young Girl’s long golden‑orange hair streamed in the wind. The slight turn of her face showed she’d heard the conversation over here, yet her expression was utterly calm, as if these things had nothing to do with what she sought.

Li Ang was a little surprised. After all, given the refined city‑dweller impression she gave off, it seemed more reasonable that she’d have a desire for wealth.

"D‑don’t keep pestering this cat, asking questions. I’ve already pointed out where that Jade Dragon’s aura is—that’s definitely where this civilization’s central region used to be. You go look for yourselves, meow!"

Encircled by everyone, the Jade Cat was a bit unused to it, even her self‑reference got jumbled. She turned into a gust of wind and slipped out from between the crowd, landing back on Li Ang’s shoulder.

"We’ll trouble you for that, then." Li Ang said.

He’d been thinking that if they couldn’t find the place, they’d just copy their previous carpet‑search and then use the system map’s hidden‑location function to hunt for it—but for now, that wouldn’t be necessary.

Guided by the Wind Dragon, the two Flying Airships arrived at the edge of a chasm so deep it was bottomless, like an abyss.

"Is this really where the Dwarf Imperial Palace is?" A Xiang and a few others leaned over the side of the ship, unable to see any trace of civilization in the rift at all.

"Interlinked winds tell this Dragon you can get in down there."

Annette snorted. "The front gate’s long since blocked. This is the side passage. Without this Dragon, you’d just slowly find your way to death, meow."

"We’re going down." Elaphia issued the order. The two Flying Airships slowed down and descended into the rift.
