Chapter 1036: Chapter 506: Destiny Cold Wave (2)
But if it weren’t for the resurrection of the Leviathan attracting Fafnir, it wouldn’t have shown up. If it hadn’t collided head-on with Li Ang’s side, which had both the Water Dragon and the End Sword Saint, its appearance would have inevitably caused a catastrophe.
Fafnir rarely shows up, and unless someone is deeply associated with the Dragon Race, they wouldn’t know of its existence, let alone discover the existence of the Dwarf Realm from this angle.
Information from other angles had been lost thousands of years ago, and cannot be explained simply by the phrase "records of Thousand Tower City."
That Sif could know the news here is full of doubts.
If she hadn’t opened this Secret Realm, Li Ang and the others wouldn’t be here now.
Without her commissioning Cloud Wanderer to escort this exploration, the sword wouldn’t have been accidentally discovered, nor would its information have been transmitted to the outside world.
If there weren’t hopes of gathering the Five Swords, Elaphia and Farlonio would have sought other ways regarding the Martial Extreme Trial, and thus, they wouldn’t have come here for the sword.
Elaphia thought of what Li Ang cared about earlier, regarding the location of Destiny Cold Wave.
"What did you just think of?"
"I think that, in such a complex environment and over the passage of time, it’s quite strange that the sword hasn’t sunk into the mud but was discovered when the Sky Knights passed by," Li Ang said.
"Some Treasure Artifacts have the power to alter the environment. Your idea makes sense, but we need to go and see to understand it better," Elaphia said.
Li Ang nodded, and everyone returned to the Weapon God and sailed towards the depths of the swamp.
Cloud Wanderer may not have a flagship like the Holy Sanctuary of The Soul Apex, but each Flying Airship is well equipped. This time, it was A Xiang’s ship, "White Wind," a combat flying airship a circle smaller than the Weapon God and sleeker in design, with a ramming horn like a Knight’s Spear at the front. The hovercraft is encased in wind attribute Dragon Scales.
The Weapon God and White Wind led the way, followed by the flying airships of the three other Sky Cavalry. Due to the powerful ships, no Demon could obstruct them, and they quickly arrived over the destination.
As Elaphia predicted, a large area of frost covered the swamp.
At the heart of this ice lies the Treasure Sword "Destiny Cold Wave," its blade deeply embedded in an ice pillar.
Though difficult to see clearly from afar, one could vaguely make out that this sword was crafted by Ernest into a Giant Sword. It stands like a piece of ancient unmelted ice, with thick frost on its surface, sharpness, and weight collectively expressing the bone-chilling cold of fate’s injustice befalling.
Since no one wielded it, the cold it radiated could only form an ice pillar, and the surrounding frost merely refroze repeatedly, unable to freeze the swamp.
Therefore, there’s no way to say one can step on the ice surface to reach the sword.
Not far from Destiny Cold Wave, the figures of Wyrm Dragons appeared.
Besides Fafnir, these Poison Dragons were the largest Li Ang had ever seen, each one longer than those on Mengze Island, enough to entangle the flying airships in the sky.
When they grow large enough, the peculiar patterns on their scales, the stray hairs extending from the gaps in their Scale Armor, and the strange substance flowing on their skin become strikingly clear, bringing intense chills.
As the Sky Knights arrived, these Poison Dragons raised their heads in the swamp, staring directly at the group.
"This feeling, it does seem like they’re guarding," Elaphia frowned.
Even though the presence of the Ice Giant Sword would attract attention, and the power it exudes shouldn’t cause it to sink into the mud, seeing these Wyrm Dragons’ actions suggested that alternative possibilities brought up by Elaphia made Li Ang’s doubts sound reasonable.
Not far from Destiny Cold Wave is the Dragon Nest that A Xiang and others mentioned.
It’s not entirely constructed from mud or elemental materials. A significant portion belongs to an ancient dwarven giant structure, adorned with countless Gemstones, far more luxurious than the previous structures. It might be a palace of a noble or a vault for storing precious items.
What kind of existence is the master of the Dragon Nest? This is an issue Cloud Wanderer cautiously addresses.
Did Destiny Cold Wave just happen to fall here?
If it simply fell here, why would they guard this sword?
There’s no time to ponder this question now, as the battle has begun, and White Wind was the first to fire into the swamp. It carried the Wind Element Demon Pattern Cannon, whose explosive rotating Wind Bullet landed in the swamp, forming a Hurricane that churned the mud and water into a miniature tornado, directly tearing apart the weaker Wyrm Dragons.
Since White Wind opened fire, other warships followed suit, and instantaneously, various shells covered the swamp.
And the Poison Dragons began their counterattack.
They undulated their bodies, resembling the horrific swamp pythons depicted in secret biological dossiers, their very movements like the coming of a legend. When more than twenty giant dragons swam in unison, the visual impact resembled a tsunami rising from the black sea below.
A black Wyrm Dragon leaped from the swamp, charging at the Weapon God. Its twisted, sharp black scales were dotted with tiny white spots, making it look like eyes covered its body, utterly hair-raising.
Diao got goosebumps on the back of her hand, but taking advantage of the surroundings already being filled with strong winds conjured by White Wind’s Wind Element Cannon, she called forth a mighty wind, directly hitting the Wyrm Dragon head-on, knocking it back into the swamp.
