Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 434-Oh, Who Is Bothered Now?

Verity:

"You know, I was just thinking I’d love to take a walk along the shore, all the way to that particular spot where people claim they can see the watchtower’s light. Unfortunately, I fell asleep earlier and missed the whole thing," I explained playfully, sticking out my lower lip in a little pout before scratching the back of my neck, acting as though I’d been terribly naughty for missing such an interesting sight.

"It’s all right. Nobody actually saw anything today. The fog was too thick," he reassured me before turning to fetch me a drink. "Would you like something?"

"Yeah, some Mojito would be nice," I replied, lifting one shoulder in a casual shrug.

"Sure."

He set his own glass aside and handed me a Mojito.

I wrapped my fingers around the glass, caught the straw between my lips, and took a leisurely sip while glancing toward Ragnar.

And oh, he did not look pleased.

Not one fucking bit.

Then, completely ignoring Ragnar, I walked off with Clark.

The water was freezing, and every time a wave brushed against my feet, I couldn’t help giggling.

What made it even more amusing was how Clark’s face turned red whenever I did.

"I must say, you don’t look like a secretary. I mean, you know, you do have that hot secretary vibe, but you look more like a model," he complimented me softly.

"That’s sweet of you," I replied with a smile. "You look really good yourself."

As we ventured farther along the shore, Clark pointed toward a pine tree standing near the water.

"See that tree? If you walk past it and go far enough into the water for it to reach halfway up your knees, that’s usually where people claim they can see the watchtower’s light. Sometimes, it almost looks as though the light reaches all the way here, casting shadows that shouldn’t even be possible. I don’t know, it’s difficult to explain."

He’d suddenly slipped into a more professional tone, and I found myself becoming equally interested in what he was explaining.

I started moving toward the sea, eager to see the mysterious sight for myself.

"But the current is quite strong at this hour, so I wouldn’t recommend going any farther," he cautioned, immediately extending his arm to stop me.

I halted and turned to look at him.

That was when I spotted Ragnar approaching us from behind Clark, his enormous fucking frame moving toward us with his arms swinging stiffly at his sides.

And suddenly, an idea popped into my head.

I took a step backward, deliberately stumbling as though I’d lost my footing.

The moment I pretended to slip, Clark abandoned his drink and lunged forward, wrapping an arm around my waist to catch me.

But I twisted my body just enough to throw us both off balance, and instead of steadying me, he ended up tumbling into the water with me.

We rolled over each other in the shallow surf before coming to a stop with me sprawled on top of him.

I gasped as the cold water soaked through my clothes, making the delicate fabric cling to my body and probably revealing more skin than I’d intended.

And oh, the look in Clark’s eyes!

He was staring at me as though some fucking mermaid had just landed in his arms.

"I’m so sorry," I apologized, slowly running one hand through my wet curls while keeping the other pressed against his chest.

That was precisely when Ragnar arrived, charging toward us like an enraged bull.

Without so much as a warning, he grabbed my arm and yanked me off Clark with such force that I practically flew backward before stumbling to regain my balance.

Clark immediately scrambled out of the water, running a hand through his wet hair to straighten it, while I pretended to busy myself adjusting my dress.

"Thank you, Clark. I honestly don’t know what would’ve happened if you hadn’t tried to save me," I told him sweetly, completely ignoring Ragnar, who stood between us breathing like an angry bull.

"It’s okay. I mean, it’s my duty to protect the people around me," Clark responded, his cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red.

And well, judging by the rather obvious bulge in his pants, his excitement wasn’t limited to his face.

Seriously?

A few rolls in the water, and he was already ready to drill into some pussy?

Definitely not mine, though.

"Yes, absolutely. If he hadn’t been there, you would’ve been dragged into the ocean and ended up as shark food," Ragnar hissed sarcastically, clearly mocking my dramatic little performance.

Then he turned his attention to Clark.

"Your ma’am was looking for you."

As he spoke, Ragnar shifted directly in front of me, completely blocking my view of Clark with his ridiculously broad frame.

I couldn’t see Clark anymore, and from the looks of it, the poor man couldn’t see me either.

"Okay, I’ll be back, all right? We can continue our walk later," Clark called out, attempting to peer around Ragnar’s shoulder.

It was practically impossible.

I could only hear him walking away after assuring me that he’d find me again.

Once Clark was gone, Ragnar turned around to face me in the slowest, most dramatic way imaginable.

"Go inside and change," he ordered, his voice dropping dangerously low.

His ears were red, and his eyes looked just as furious.

"Why?" I questioned, glancing down at myself. "What’s wrong with my clothes?"

"You’re wet," he muttered.

Well, I could understand what had gotten him so worked up.

The water had made my outfit practically see-through in certain places, and by that, I meant a whole lot of skin was suddenly on display.

Even when I looked down, I could make out the outline of my nipple through the damp fabric.

So I simply adjusted the loose material draped over my pink bralette, pulling it into place to cover myself a little better.

Other than that, I didn’t see any reason to hide anything.

My panties weren’t sheer, so I was perfectly fine down there.
