Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 414-They Insulted Me

Gigi:

My head felt unbearably heavy. I wasn’t even sure how I managed to drive all the way home.

Even sitting behind the wheel, my hands were trembling so badly that I could barely keep the car steady.

There were moments when I almost hit someone.

If that had happened, whose fault would it have been?

How could someone treat another person this way?

How could they simply forget someone after finding me?

None of it made sense.

All I knew was that if I didn’t get home soon and somehow let out even a little of what was trapped inside my chest, I felt like I might die.

I spent the entire drive hyperventilating, struggling to breathe as tears gathered in my eyes and spilled down my cheeks.

I kept blinking them away because if my vision blurred, I could get into an accident.

I didn’t want to die.

There was still so much left for me to live for.

Too much was already going wrong in my life.

The moment I stepped inside my home, I collapsed onto the floor, clutched my dress in my fists, and screamed.

"Ahhh!"

I screamed again, louder this time, until the sound became deafening.

After a while, my own screams started tearing at my throat.

They were so loud that I could barely hear my own voice anymore.

Then I broke down completely.

I sobbed until my chest hurt. I pounded my hands against the floor and even hit myself, unable to control any of it.

Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me, and my mother rushed into the room.

"What happened? Why are you crying like this? Have you lost your mind?" she demanded, panic filling her voice.

She understood.

Whenever I screamed and cried like this, it meant someone had hurt me.

But how was I supposed to tell her this time?

The Alpha King brothers had broken my trust in the worst way possible.

"Everything is over. Everything is over," I cried, my voice breaking as I started sobbing again.

One look at my mother’s face told me she was terrified for me.

I had always been a happy person.

I rarely complained, so whenever I did, the people around me knew something was seriously wrong.

"Gigi, what are you saying? What’s over?" she asked, trying to cup my face in her hands, but I shook my head vigorously.

"Everything. Everything has slipped out of my hands," I managed to utter.

My body was trembling so violently that even my mother’s hands began to shake.

"Gigi, now you’re scaring me. Tell me what happened. Did you and Ragnar have a fight? Did he..." She paused, swallowing hard. "Did he refuse to get engaged to you?"

I immediately shook my head.

"Oh, no. No, Lord. That’s not what happened," I quickly assured her. "If that had happened, we would have had much bigger problems by now."

"Then what happened?" she pressed.

I watched some of the tension leave her face.

"Is this..." She hesitated. "Is this about Oliver?"

Her eyes widened with realization, but I shook my head again.

Still, a thought crept into my mind.

Had all of this somehow started because of him? Because of his mistakes and that one moment in my life?

"Forget it. No, this isn’t about him either."

The moment I said it, I saw my mother relax a little more.

"First of all, get up. You know there are maids around the house. If they see you like this, they’ll gossip. Do you really want everyone thinking the future mate of the Alpha King was sitting on the floor, wailing her heart out?"

My mother muttered under her breath as my mother pulled me to my feet.

She practically dragged me over to the couch and lowered me onto it.

If I had a nickel for every time I had come here, sat on this couch, and cried, I would have been a billionaire by now.

Well, I was a billionaire.

The problem was that I was simply very unlucky when it came to love.

I had now lost the two people I loved most, and I had lost them to none other than the bitch I hated.

"Now tell me what happened," my mother urged as she began fixing my hair.

I took deep, heavy breaths and clutched her hand tightly.

"Theodore and Jaguar found their fated mate."

The moment the words left my mouth, I broke down again, sobbing uncontrollably.

I had expected a certain reaction from my mother, but it never came. Instead, she became eerily calm.

"Oh," she murmured. "So what? They were bound to find their mates eventually. But those girls will never take your place in their lives. Trust me."

She continued trying to reassure me without having any idea what I was actually saying.

"You don’t get it!" I nearly screamed.

My mother narrowed her eyes, silently warning me not to raise my voice at her.

"Their mate," I stressed. "It isn’t two different women. It’s one woman. They share the same mate. Do you understand what that means?"

I tried to explain what it meant for two Alpha Kings to have a shared mate.

This time, the change in my mother’s expression was impossible to miss.

"Really?" she breathed, placing a hand over her chest.

"Yes! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you." A small sob escaped me before I hiccupped.

"Well, Ragnar told you he hasn’t found his mate yet, right? And even if he does, he’ll reject her. Besides, who cares about Jaguar and Theodore? Their older brother is the bigger fish. You’ll always have a place among them because of him," she reasoned, still missing my point.

"Do you know who their mate is?"

That was the only way to make her truly understand why I was falling apart.

She narrowed her eyes at me, but this time, she didn’t even attempt to guess.

"It’s none other than Verity."

Finally, my mother’s eyes widened.
