Chapter 2864: I Just Want to Eat Tofu Pudding

Li Mingxi shook her head. "No. Your illness is pretty serious, you have to get an injection. Otherwise tomorrow morning’s plane ticket will be wasted."

The threat was harsh enough that Xiao Lang didn’t dare keep being stubborn.

He pressed his lips together and said, "Go buy me a bowl of sweet tofu pudding and I’ll get the shot."

Li Mingxi couldn’t help bursting out laughing. "You still want sugar? I brought chocolate. How about you eat chocolate?"

"I’ll go buy you a lollipop."

Xiao Lang was very persistent. "What I want is sweet tofu pudding."

Li Mingxi really wanted to flick him hard on the head. "Do you know how far the place that sells sweet tofu pudding is? I’m not going."

They’d seen sweet tofu pudding at the night market they’d gone to on their first night.

But even by cab it would take more than ten minutes to get there, and she really didn’t want to go.

"But I really want to eat it." Xiao Lang looked at her pitifully.

Maybe it was because of the fever, but his eyes seemed misty, like the eyes of a wounded little animal—lost, innocent, pitiful and cute.

Li Mingxi’s heart took a hard hit from the way he looked just then.

She immediately pulled out her phone and snapped a picture of him.

Li Mingxi looked at the photo in satisfaction, then nodded helplessly. "Fine, I’ll go buy it for you. But you’re not allowed to fall asleep. If your condition gets worse, you call me right away."

"Okay." Xiao Lang nodded in agreement.

Once she left, Xiao Lang endured his headache, turned over, and headed toward the bathroom.

He took off his clothes, turned on the shower, and rinsed his body with cold water.

He was drenched in sweat and actually did really want a shower.

But the purpose of his cold shower was to make his condition worse...

All the way there, Li Mingxi kept urging the cab driver to go faster, but she still spent half an hour before she could hurry back.

Carrying the sweet tofu pudding, she opened the door and went inside. Li Mingxi didn’t even change her shoes; she set the tofu pudding down and went straight to feel Xiao Lang’s forehead.

She realized his temperature seemed to have gone up again.

Frowning, Li Mingxi grabbed the thermometer and took his temperature at his ear.

39.7 degrees!

Li Mingxi’s heart lurched in panic.

Xiao Lang was already burning up and muddleheaded. Li Mingxi pulled out his arm, prepared another syringe, and gave him a fever-reducing shot.

The pain made Xiao Lang open his eyes. "You’re back?"

"What is wrong with you? You’ve already taken medicine and you can still get worse!"

Scolding him as she worked, Li Mingxi hooked him up to an IV.

Once she’d hung the drip bag up, she dug out a few more pills and fed them to him.

Xiao Lang was being obedient now, letting her fuss over him without a word.

After she finished everything, Li Mingxi still didn’t dare relax and kept a close eye on his temperature.

Only when it finally started to go down did she let out a breath of relief.
