Wen Ning came quickly, carrying a suitcase.

Li Mingxi invited her inside and asked in a concerned tone, "Have you had dinner?"

"Not yet. Sister Mingxi, let me treat you to dinner later and let’s invite Brother Xiao along," Wen Ning said with a confident smile.

Anyway, she had already told Li Mingxi about her feelings for Xiao Lang, so there was no need to hide it in front of her.

If it was someone else, Li Mingxi would definitely tease a bit.

She just laughed, "I’ll first show you to your room."

Li Mingxi arranged a room for Wen Ning, and Wen Ning casually tidied up her things before wanting to invite them out for dinner.

Xiao Lang looked up and saw Li Mingxi not far away.

"Brother Xiao, please join us for dinner, OK?" Afraid he might refuse, Wen Ning pleaded with him again.

Xiao Lang nodded, "Give me a moment."

He turned back inside to change clothes.

Wen Ning happily went to hold Li Mingxi’s arm, "Great, Brother Xiao agreed."

Li Mingxi just smiled.

"Sister Mingxi, do you know what Brother Xiao likes to eat?" Wen Ning asked her quietly.

"You could ask him this question."

"Right, I’ll ask him later. Sister Mingxi, really, thank you so much, without you, I wouldn’t be able to get close to Brother Xiao."

Li Mingxi smiled but didn’t say anything. Usually, she was quite talkative, but now she honestly didn’t know what to say.

"Let’s go." Xiao Lang changed into a shirt and came out.

Wen Ning immediately let go of Li Mingxi, stepped forward, and enthusiastically asked Xiao Lang, "Brother Xiao, what do you like to eat? I’ll consider and see where we can dine."

"Let’s go to a Sichuan restaurant," Xiao Lang said directly.

Wen Ning looked a bit puzzled, "I remember you don’t like spicy food."

"I’m accommodating for you two ladies, besides, not everything at a Sichuan restaurant is spicy," Xiao Lang said gently.

Wen Ning immediately beamed, "Brother Xiao, you’re so considerate."

Xiao Lang glanced at Wen Ning subtly, wondering how she had become more enthusiastic and proactive.

Little did he know, Wen Ning was spurred into determination to win him over, hence the proactive behavior.

They hopped into Xiao Lang’s car and went to a nearby Sichuan restaurant.

Once Wen Ning got hold of the menu, she ordered several dishes Xiao Lang could eat, then ordered some of her favorites.

Li Mingxi stayed out of the hustle and ordered two dishes she liked.

The food arrived, and Wen Ning chatted with them as they ate.

"It’s such a coincidence that Brother Xiao and Sister Mingxi are neighbors. But I’ll be neighbors with Brother Xiao for the next few days too," Wen Ning said with a smile.

Xiao Lang looked at her, and she proactively explained, "I’m planning to stay with Li Mingxi for a few days. Did Sister Mingxi tell you?"

Under the table, Li Mingxi’s foot lightly kicked him.

Xiao Lang shook his head, "No."

Wen Ning breathed a sigh of relief; she was worried Li Mingxi would tell the truth.

If that happened, she’d be too reserved in front of Xiao Lang.

"Brother Xiao, let’s go to work together tomorrow morning," Wen Ning gently suggested.

"I probably won’t go to the restaurant tomorrow," Xiao Lang said.
