Chapter 2828: Bringing You Something to Eat

Xiao Lang quickly went to freshen up, then boiled brown sugar water for her.

After drinking the warm brown sugar water, Li Mingxi felt much more comfortable.

"Continue sleeping, I’ll go make breakfast for you," Xiao Lang said, tucking her in and smoothing her hair.

Li Mingxi asked curiously, "Aren’t you going to work?"

"No, I’ll rest at home for two days."

"Honestly, I’m fine, a day of rest is enough. You should go about your business, don’t worry about me."

Xiao Lang replied earnestly, "Work is not as important as you. Besides, I have no mind for work."

Li Mingxi felt touched, she said no more, closed her eyes, and went back to sleep.

Xiao Lang quietly left and went to prepare food.

Probably because she didn’t sleep well last night, Li Mingxi slept until ten in the morning.

When she woke up, her stomach felt much better, not as uncomfortable.

She got up, went to the bathroom, then opened the door and headed to the kitchen.

Xiao Lang had just finished simmering black chicken soup. He turned his head, saw her, and smiled, "Go sit, we’re about to eat."

Originally, he had prepared breakfast for her, but seeing her sleep deeply, he didn’t disturb her and went on to cook morning dishes.

Li Mingxi woke up just in time, right when the meal was ready.

Xiao Lang brought all the dishes to the table and served her a bowl of oil-free black chicken soup.

"This replenishes blood, drink more."

Li Mingxi looked at the sumptuous spread and the meticulously simmered black chicken soup, her eyes turned a bit sour.

For so many years, she got used to being self-reliant, her strong personality made her the epitome of an independent woman.

Every time she had her period, she got through it alone.

This was the first time someone cared for her like this.

"Hurry and drink, it won’t taste good if it cools down," Xiao Lang urged her.

Li Mingxi smiled, "You drink too."

"I made this for you, I won’t drink."

"It’s no fun drinking alone, you should have some too."

Xiao Lang smiled, "Okay."

The two ate a full meal, and Xiao Lang cleared the table and went to clean the dishes in the kitchen.

Li Mingxi went to the living room, hugged a throw pillow, and watched TV.

Just as she selected a channel, her phone rang.

Li Mingxi glanced at her phone, it was Li Qian calling.

"Hello," Li Mingxi answered.

"You didn’t go to the hospital today?" Li Qian asked.

"Yeah, I didn’t go. Why, do you need me for something?"

Li Qian chuckled helplessly, "My mom asked me to bring you some food, I went to your hospital and didn’t see you."

Li Mingxi felt a bit embarrassed, "Next time, tell Auntie not to bother. I can’t accept gifts without reason."

"It’s okay, just consider it a gift from an elder. Are you at home now? Is it convenient for me to come over?"

Li Mingxi glanced towards the kitchen, then thought, there’s no need to hide from Li Qian, there’s nothing between them to hide.

"You can come over, call me when you arrive, I’ll come down to meet you."

"Alright."

Just after hanging up the phone, Xiao Lang came out of the kitchen.

He walked over to her, casually asking, "Who’s on the phone?"

"Li Qian," Li Mingxi said without considering hiding anything, hiding would make it look worse, "He’s bringing me something, I need to go out for a bit later."

Xiao Lang, expressionless, acknowledged with a hum, "I’ll go out with you later then."

Li Mingxi shook her head, "No need, I can go down myself."

"What, afraid of him seeing me?" Xiao Lang asked with a sarcastic tone.

It’s not that I’m afraid of him seeing you, but worried you’ll find out there’s an issue between him and me.
