Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2595: Pregnant With Your Precious Daughter
Erin Janus lowered her head and said something to him, looking unhappy.
Sylvan Cheney’s face didn’t show much expression either. Occasionally, he would respond softly a couple of times, but most of the time, he was listening to the speeches and taking notes.
Sylvan Cheney still looked the same as before when working—meticulous, rigorous, and cold.
Erin Janus seemed dissatisfied with his work, tugged at his sleeve, insisting on pulling him outside. Sylvan Cheney seemed to frown slightly.
Jasmine Yale withdrew her gaze and continued with her work, swiftly recording the keynotes and highlights of other companies’ speeches and creating a separate table for comparison with ZR.
Will Caddel would sometimes pause his writing, lean closer to her, look over her notebook file, and offer a few pointers.
After finishing one table, Jasmine Yale felt thirsty and whispered to Will Caddel, "CEO Caddel, I’m going out to buy a drink. What would you like?"
"Bring me a cup of coffee."
"Okay."
Jasmine Yale stood up and walked outside the conference hall.
The temperature was quite high today, and combined with the crowded hall, she felt hot.
Fortunately, there were a few tea shops nearby.
She walked out of the convention center and found a café nearby.
"One freshly ground Blue Mountain coffee, no sugar, no milk, and one cranberry iced tea to go."
"Alright, miss, please wait a moment."
The café’s atmosphere was entirely different from the conference hall; here, the pace was slow, the ambiance was soothing, and the fragrance was quite pleasant.
If the bidding conference weren’t ongoing, she would really like to sit here and have a drink before leaving.
At this moment, she could only shrug helplessly.
"Miss, here’s your coffee and iced tea."
"Thank you."
Holding one in each hand, Jasmine Yale left the café to return.
She hadn’t yet returned when she saw Erin Janus come out, standing alone at the entrance of the convention center making a call, using one hand to shield herself from the sun and the other to hold her phone, looking in a bad mood.
"Evan, can you come out? What good is there in holding this ridiculous bidding conference? Even if we win, how much profit can it bring to James? James wouldn’t care about this kind of money!"
"Alright, I’m not angry with you. The weather’s so hot today; I really don’t want to stay at the conference hall. Rarely do you have no business trip, don’t you plan to go out with me? Let’s go to the beach."
"Work? I’m not interested in the company’s work. These bidding conferences are dull and boring; I don’t even want to oversee my magazine. I came today purely because you were here; otherwise, why would I suffer here?"
"Evan, you really... Forget it, where can I go to play now that I’m pregnant? Can’t go to bars, can’t dance, even driving is inconvenient. All my suffering is because I’m carrying your precious daughter, right? Didn’t you say you’d be good to me, so come out now and don’t continue with the meeting."
"I’m not being unreasonable..."
Standing at a not-too-far distance, Jasmine Yale could clearly observe Erin Janus’s spoiled demeanor.
She chuckled softly.
How nice to have someone to act spoiled with.
But envy doesn’t mean jealousy. She also has her happiness; for example, under the burning sun, she will soon be able to enjoy her iced tea.
She entered through another door, unsure whether Erin Janus saw her.
Before she could enter the hall, she unexpectedly ran into Sylvan Cheney coming out.
Sylvan Cheney stopped, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes before it disappeared, and he fixed his gaze on her, glanced at her coffee and iced tea in her hands.
Jasmine Yale nodded to him in greeting, intending to walk past him.
Sylvan Cheney blocked her, not allowing passage.
