Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2585: Our Daughter Is the Fruit of Our Love

The restaurant was resplendent, brilliantly lit.

Kieran Janus had a heavy smoking habit, but because Erin was pregnant, he restrained himself and didn’t smoke at all, only had quite a bit to drink with Sylvan Cheney.

Old James was getting on in years and only ate without drinking. Halfway through, he felt a bit fatigued and kept yawning.

Sylvan Cheney occasionally exchanged a few words with Old James, but mostly chatted with Kieran Janus about the development of the new financial district.

Kieran Janus listened to him saying the framework was pretty much established, already breaking ground, and nodded frequently, showing satisfaction.

Erin, leaning against Sylvan Cheney, smiled at Kieran, "Dad, isn’t Evan very capable? I have good taste; I found you a good son-in-law, are you satisfied this time?"

"Satisfied." Kieran doted on his daughter as well.

"Dad, would you like to go out with us after dinner? We haven’t gone shopping together in a long time, and you haven’t bought a gift for your granddaughter yet." Erin teased, stroking her belly.

"Don’t worry, there won’t be a lack of gifts. Evan, what have you bought for your daughter?"

Sylvan Cheney curved his lips, "It’s a secret for now, but once she’s born, you’ll all find out."

"Evan, are you planning to surprise me?" Erin leaned contentedly on his shoulder. "I like it when you do this. By the way, have you thought of a nickname for our daughter? What should it be? Little Sweetie? Sweet Kitty? Or Little Grape?"

"Which one do you like?" Sylvan looked at her.

"Let me think... how about Little Sweetie?" Erin mused. "After all, our daughter is the fruit of our love, and our love is sweet, so she should be called Little Sweetie. What do you think?"

"Sounds good."

"Alright, it’s settled then. She’ll be Little Sweetie. Evan, you’re going to spoil her, aren’t you? Let me ask you a question." Erin held his arm and looked at him earnestly.

"What?" Sylvan bowed his head, with a slight smile.

"Between me and our daughter, who would you spoil more?"

"This question is as difficult as if both you and my mother fell into the water at the same time, who would I save first," Sylvan laughed. "How am I supposed to answer that?"

Kieran laughed, "Erin, you’re putting your husband in a tough spot. You and your daughter, both palms and backs of your hand are flesh and blood, how can you make him choose?"

"Alright, alright, I was just joking. What I mean is, Evan, when our daughter is born, you can’t just focus on coaxing her and forget about me, or I’ll get jealous." Erin’s eyes sparkled like stars in the sky.

"Got it."

"I knew you’re the best. I really look forward to our daughter; if she looks like you, she’ll definitely be beautiful."

Erin kept talking nonstop, creating a lively atmosphere in the restaurant, like a harmonious family reunion.

Old James, full and tired, called for someone to take him home to rest.

Erin and Sylvan Cheney also accompanied him to leave.

"Your grandfather is getting old, and his health has not been good recently," Kieran lamented.

"Yes, indeed, the old man has worked hard all his life," Erin said. "But Dad, I’ll be filial to grandpa. When my daughter is born, he’ll definitely be in good spirits."

Kieran patted her shoulder. "It’s getting late, you and Evan should rest early too. I think you shouldn’t go shopping tonight, the wind is picking up outside."

"Okay, Dad, are you heading back now?"

"Yes, I’m feeling a bit unwell, I’m going back to rest."
