Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband

Chapter 141: The Moon God Festival Begins

  • Next Chapter

A large number of people had gathered for the Moon God Festival.

Sora had originally thought she was about to witness some spectacular performances.

Instead, after watching for a while, she realized she had seriously overestimated the artistic talents of the primitive people.

The females participating in the competition had come up with all kinds of performances.

One female wore a feather skirt and barked like a dog.

Another wrapped herself in vines, arranging them around her body to make herself look like a flower.

There was even a female whose performance consisted of peeling the outer shell from wild fruits.

Surprisingly, she was incredibly fast.

Her hands moved so quickly that the beastmen watching couldn’t help applauding.

"Good!"

"She’s so fast!"

"Again!"

Sora stared at the stage for a moment before bursting into laughter.

The performances weren’t exactly impressive by modern standards, but they were undeniably entertaining.

Some females imitated the sounds of cows.

Others imitated wolves.

Their imitations were surprisingly accurate.

The cow beastmen in the audience responded with their own calls.

Then the wolf beastmen joined in.

Before long, the entire performance had turned into something resembling a beastman duet.

Unfortunately, it was a form of beast-language that only the corresponding beastmen could understand.

To everyone else, it sounded like a strange conversation between animals.

Sora watched with great interest.

She couldn’t help thinking that the Moon God Festival was much livelier than she had expected.

Beside her stood Clare and Zainabu.

The two females had been watching Sora closely ever since she announced that she would participate in the Most Beautiful Female Selection.

Clare suddenly looked at Sora’s clothes.

Her expression became anxious.

"Kaelira..."

"Hmm?"

"Are you really going to wear that?"

Sora looked down at herself.

She was wearing a relatively plain beast-skin skirt.

Compared with the elaborate outfits worn by some of the other females, it looked incredibly ordinary.

Sora had several beautiful outfits already.

So why had she chosen to wear such a simple one tonight?

Sora smiled.

"Don’t worry."

She calmly looked toward the stage.

"You’ll find out soon."

Clare and Zainabu exchanged glances.

Neither of them understood what Sora was planning.

But they trusted her.

When they had first heard that Sora had registered for the Most Beautiful Female Selection, their first reaction had been surprisingly confident.

They had both believed Sora would win.

They didn’t know why.

They simply felt that Sora must have some kind of unique method.

Sora had already surprised them countless times.

If she dared to enter the competition, then she must have a reason.

"I believe you’ll definitely win the title of Most Beautiful Female," Clare said sincerely.

Zainabu nodded.

"I believe so too."

Their voices weren’t particularly quiet.

Several females standing nearby immediately heard them.

They couldn’t help laughing.

"Clare, don’t think that just because Sora taught you how to make pottery, you have to admire her so much."

"Exactly."

"Just look at her appearance. How could she possibly win first place?"

"Her face is so ordinary. How could she compete with Serena?"

The laughter became louder.

Sora didn’t react.

Clare and Zainabu, however, remained completely confident.

They had seen too many strange things happen around Sora to underestimate her.

Then the next participant stepped onto the stage.

It was Serena.

The atmosphere immediately became livelier.

Serena had dressed carefully for the occasion.

She wore a snow-white fox-fur skirt that contrasted beautifully against her dark hair.

A crown made from fresh flowers had been woven into her hair, making her look delicate and elegant.

She looked like a flower blooming beneath the moonlight.

The previous performances had already ended.

Serena stepped onto the stage.

She lightly lifted the edge of her beast-skin skirt and began moving.

Her movements were graceful and light.

Her slender arms waved through the air as she imitated the movements of a butterfly.

Unlike some of the earlier participants, Serena had clearly prepared carefully.

Her performance was far more polished.

It was obvious why she had won the title of Most Beautiful Female in the previous competition.

She wasn’t merely beautiful.

She actually had some talent.

Sora watched silently.

She carefully observed Serena’s movements.

The beastmen beneath the stage quickly became excited.

Whistles rang out.

Applause followed.

Some beastmen even shouted Serena’s name.

"Serena!"

"Beautiful!"

"Again!"

Serena’s lips curved upward.

She had worked hard for this moment.

For days, she had watched butterflies flying through the forest.

She had carefully memorized their movements.

She had observed the way their wings moved, the way they changed direction, and the way they hovered in the air.

She had then incorporated those movements into her dance.

And now, the audience was giving her exactly the reaction she wanted.

Her confidence grew.

While dancing, Serena deliberately waved her arms more dramatically whenever she moved in front of Xavier and Ace.

She wanted them to notice her.

She wanted them to see her beauty.

She wanted them to compare her with Sora.

But Sora noticed everything.

She couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

What a pity.

After spending so much time around Xavier, Ace, Lukan, Lucas, Ryan, and Damien, Sora had gradually understood their personalities.

They weren’t people who would easily be captivated by superficial beauty.

They valued substance.

They valued usefulness.

They valued intelligence.

They valued uniqueness.

Serena was certainly beautiful.

But beauty alone wasn’t enough to make her stand out to them.

Unfortunately, Serena didn’t seem to understand this.

She continued displaying herself in front of them.

Yet their reactions remained surprisingly indifferent.

Sora shook her head.

She couldn’t help feeling that Serena was wasting her effort.

From Serena’s perspective, however, Sora’s reaction looked completely different.

While dancing, Serena noticed Sora shaking her head and sighing.

Her expression changed slightly.

What does that mean?

Did Sora think her dance was inadequate?

Was she mocking her?

Or was she laughing because Xavier and Ace weren’t reacting to her performance?

A flash of anger appeared in Serena’s eyes.

But she quickly suppressed it.

She couldn’t lose her composure on stage.

She still had half of the performance remaining.

I’ll deal with her afterward.

Serena finished the first portion of her dance and continued performing.

Sora, meanwhile, quietly left the crowd.

Serena didn’t notice.

By the time she stepped off the stage and looked for Sora, Sora had already disappeared.

She had returned to her small room.

It wasn’t because Sora wanted to create suspense.

There was a practical reason.

Her homemade foundation wasn’t particularly long-lasting.

She had only recently developed it, and without modern preservatives or cosmetics technology, the makeup would gradually lose its effect.

Therefore, Sora needed to apply it shortly before she went on stage.

That way, the makeup would look its best during her performance.
