Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband
Chapter 134: The Beast Husbands Begin Competing
Sora focused intently on the clay pot in front of her, occasionally giving instructions to the beastmen nearby.
"Add a little more charcoal there."
The beastman immediately followed her instructions.
Her expression was serious and concentrated as she carefully observed the purification process.
That serious look caused an inexplicable ripple to rise in Ryan’s heart.
His gaze lingered on her for a moment.
Compared with the time before she had gone to Heavenly God Mountain, Sora’s waist had slimmed down considerably. At this moment, she was leaning forward slightly as she worked, causing her figure to appear even more pronounced.
Ryan couldn’t help but recall the soft sensation from that day.
His neck gradually turned red.
His heart began beating faster.
Ding!
Ryan’s attraction value has increased by 10 points.
Heart-throb value has increased by 15 points.
Sora was seriously observing the crystallization of the salt water when the system suddenly chimed.
She blinked in surprise.
Why had Ryan’s score suddenly increased?
She instinctively glanced in his direction.
To her surprise, she found him staring intently at her.
Sora couldn’t tell what exactly he was looking at, but his expression seemed particularly serious.
She shivered slightly.
What is Ryan scheming again?
Whatever.
As long as her strategy values were increasing, that was a good thing.
She quickly returned her attention to the salt.
The filtered salt water still needed to be boiled and stirred slowly so that the salt could crystallize properly.
The heat couldn’t be too high.
Sora checked the fires one by one, making sure that none of the beastmen were heating the salt water too quickly.
Once she was satisfied, she returned to the purification process.
She didn’t think much more about Ryan’s strange behavior.
After a busy morning, the salt was finally extracted.
Sora stretched lazily.
Her entire body felt tired after spending so much time supervising the process.
She walked toward the wild kitchen.
It was time to cook.
Nearby, Ryan examined the white salt that had been produced.
He picked up some of the crystals and rubbed them between his fingers.
The salt was extremely fine.
In fact, it was even finer than the salt he had tasted before.
For a moment, the corners of his mouth lifted into a small smile.
Perhaps the guidance of the Heavenly God really was correct.
Sora truly brought him different surprises every time.
The events of yesterday were still unresolved.
Sora thought it would be best to make some milk tea first and then slowly discuss the matter with everyone.
As for the schedule she had mentioned previously, that was absolutely out of the question.
Although among her five beast husbands she had successfully targeted three and turned them into Filter Brains, there were still two whom she had not successfully targeted.
Blindly trying to arrange everything could easily provoke their aversion.
Especially Ryan.
He was different from the others.
His attraction seemed to be connected strongly to his intellectual curiosity, and Sora still hadn’t figured out exactly how to deal with him.
She couldn’t simply arrange a schedule for him without understanding him better.
This particular target was like a blind box.
She needed more observation before she could determine whether he was truly a target.
Lost in thought, Sora unknowingly walked toward the wild kitchen.
She had just reached out to pick some tea leaves when a small wheat-colored hand suddenly appeared in front of her.
A white, fluffy creature was being held in that hand.
The person holding it looked strangely unnatural.
He extended it toward Sora.
"This is for you."
Sora stared at the fluffy creature.
"What?"
She looked up at Xavier.
Then she looked back at the rabbit.
A moment later, she asked cautiously,
"Do you want to eat rabbit meat?"
Xavier’s face stiffened.
Sora continued, completely serious,
"Can’t you think of anything else besides food?"
Xavier’s expression became even more awkward.
A normal female should find such a fluffy animal cute and lovable, right?
Why was this female so different?
Her first reaction upon seeing the rabbit had actually been to think about eating it.
"If you’re not eating it, then what do you want to do with it?" Sora asked. "I can’t make clothes from it."
Xavier looked at her speechlessly.
"Don’t you think this rabbit is cute?"
He had caught dozens of rabbits before finally finding this particular one.
It was plump, healthy, and soft.
More importantly, it looked a little like Sora.
That was why he had chosen it.
Sora looked at the rabbit from head to toe.
She nodded.
"It is quite cute."
Xavier’s eyes brightened.
But then Sora continued,
"Its eyes are red. If it weren’t so small, it would be perfect for making cold rabbit dishes."
The smile that had just begun appearing on Xavier’s face froze.
Cold rabbit dishes?
Again?
He stared at Sora for several seconds.
Sora, meanwhile, was still admiring the rabbit.
It really was quite adorable.
Its fur was clean and fluffy, and its small red eyes made it look particularly cute.
Seeing Sora admit that the rabbit was cute, Xavier’s expression finally relaxed.
"If it’s cute, then keep it."
Sora blinked.
"You mean...?"
"You can raise it and play with it."
Xavier’s voice carried a hint of satisfaction.
He had thought about giving Sora a rabbit for a long time.
The females in the tribe were all very interested in this kind of small animal.
He had naturally assumed that Sora would like it too.
"Raise it?"
Sora was taken aback.
She hadn’t expected Xavier to deliberately catch a rabbit just for her to keep as a pet.
She had genuinely thought he had brought it because he wanted to eat rabbit meat.
After all, when Xavier had wanted fried eggs before, he had brought several duck eggs himself.
So when he appeared with a rabbit today, her first thought had naturally been food.
But this rabbit really was cute.
Raising it for fun didn’t seem like a bad idea.
Sora carefully reached out and took the rabbit from Xavier.
"Thank you."
The moment Xavier saw Sora accept the rabbit, his face immediately lit up with a bright smile.
His efforts hadn’t been wasted.
The rabbit had beautiful fur.
It was soft and warm beneath Sora’s fingers.
She gently stroked it several times.
The rabbit remained surprisingly calm in her arms.
Sora thought for a moment before saying,
"You should make it a nest."
Xavier looked at her.
"A nest?"
"Yes. That way, it will have somewhere to stay."
Xavier’s eyes immediately brightened.
He nodded.
"Okay."
The moment Sora finished speaking, Xavier disappeared from her sight.
He was already thinking about how to make the rabbit’s nest.
It needed to be comfortable.
It needed to be warm.
And, most importantly, it needed to be nice enough that Sora would be impressed.
He wanted to make sure that Sora would remember who had given her the rabbit when the Moon God Festival arrived.
Perhaps then she would choose him.
Sora watched him disappear and blinked.
She looked down at the little rabbit in her arms.
Then she glanced in the direction Xavier had gone.
"Why does he look so happy?"
The rabbit twitched its nose.
Sora smiled.
"Well, at least I have a new little companion."
She gently stroked its fur again.
However, she didn’t know that Xavier’s seemingly simple gift was actually part of the growing competition among her beast husbands.
The Moon God Festival was approaching.
And while Sora was still trying to figure out how to survive having six beast husbands, those beast husbands had already begun competing with one another.
One brought her milk.
Another brought her berries.
Another brought her a rabbit.
And Sora had a feeling that the gifts would only become more outrageous as the festival drew closer.
She sighed.
The Moon God Festival hadn’t even arrived yet.
Why did she already feel exhausted?
