Sora replied, "Lying there is tiring, too. Okay?"

What a beast of a man.

She really had nothing nice to say about him.

"If it were really like you think, could I still be standing here in front of you?" Sora retorted, giving him an exasperated look. "Do you think I have that much stamina?"

Xavier chuckled softly.

His hand relaxed around her waist, though he made no move to let her go completely.

"Your stamina is indeed a little lacking," he said calmly. "You fainted last time."

Sora was speechless.

What was this?

A cheating investigation?

She couldn’t understand why Xavier was acting so strangely today. His usual cold and unreadable demeanor was still there, but underneath it was something different—something that felt suspiciously like possessiveness.

Sora narrowed her eyes at him.

Then, an absurd thought suddenly crossed her mind.

"Xavier," she said slowly, "are you asking me all these questions because you’re jealous?"

The moment the words left her mouth, Sora almost regretted saying them.

How could Xavier possibly be jealous of her?

That was ridiculous.

Yet...

His behavior really did carry a strong hint of jealousy.

For a brief moment, the hand resting on Sora’s waist stiffened.

It was only for an instant.

Then Xavier returned to his usual composed expression and raised an eyebrow.

"So what if I’m jealous?"

Sora’s eyes widened.

Xavier leaned slightly closer.

"Shouldn’t you compensate me?"

Sora froze.

She had only said it jokingly.

She hadn’t expected him to actually admit it.

It felt as though lightning had struck her directly out of a clear blue sky.

Did she hear that correctly?

Xavier had just admitted that he was jealous?

Sora stared at him suspiciously.

She knew this man too well. Xavier often spoke in half-truths, making it nearly impossible to tell when he was being serious and when he was deliberately teasing her.

While Sora was still analyzing the credibility of his words, Xavier’s hand slowly shifted from her waist.

His voice dropped into a deeper tone.

"What about Lukan?"

Sora’s expression immediately became guarded.

She had a bad feeling about where this conversation was going.

"If this gets back to Lukan, you’ll only provoke his competitive nature," she thought helplessly.

She had already experienced how intense Lukan could become when his possessiveness was triggered.

Being caught between two competitive beastmen was not something Sora wanted to experience again.

After all, she had already experienced Lukan not so gentle approach last time.

Seeing that Sora remained silent, Xavier gave a faint, almost amused snort.

"Do you think that if you don’t answer, this matter will simply pass?"

His eyes darkened.

"I’ll make you understand that I’m better than him."

Before Sora could respond, Xavier pulled her down onto the soft patch of grass beneath them.

The grass was thick and surprisingly comfortable, cushioning their fall.

Then his whole body pounced on her. Mm. Mm. Sora was caught off guard and found it hard to breathe from the kiss.

Everything happened so quickly that Sora barely had time to react.

"Xavier, slow down."

She tried to push him back, but the man’s determination was obvious.

"Slow down," she repeated, her voice carrying a trace of helplessness.

Xavier merely gave her a teasing smile.

"So you prefer it this way?"

His expression made Sora want to roll her eyes.

"What a pity," he murmured. "I prefer things a little faster."

Sora’s cheeks immediately heated.

The whole situation had become far too intense.

She couldn’t help remembering the strange sounds she had heard during the night after returning to the tribe.

At the time, she had wondered what everyone had been doing.

Now she suddenly understood.

Oh, heavens.

Had she really reached the point where she was becoming part of this world completely?

The thought made her face burn even more.

To Xavier, however, the embarrassed expression on her face looked unexpectedly beautiful.

Like a vibrant sunflower blooming beneath the afternoon sun.

The days apart had changed Sora noticeably.

Her body had become slimmer, and the roundness around her waist had begun to soften into more defined curves. Her figure looked healthier and more balanced than before, and even her legs appeared longer now that she had lost some of her former heaviness.

Xavier’s gaze deepened.

The two of them remained tangled together on the thick grass for a while, the surrounding blades bending beneath their movements before slowly swaying back into place with the wind.

Eventually, everything settled.

Sora quietly cursed Xavier in her heart.

What a beast.

Fortunately, her wood-type ability made recovery much easier. She secretly activated it, allowing the warm energy to circulate through her body and ease the soreness.

Once she felt better, she pushed Xavier away and sat up.

She looked down at her wrinkled beast-skin skirt and immediately frowned.

"Look at what you’ve done to my clothes."

Xavier glanced at the damaged skirt.

After finally getting rid of the irritation that had been bothering him, his expression softened.

"What kind of beast skin do you like?" he asked. "I’ll hunt one for you."

Sora stared at him.

"It’s not about how many clothes I have. It’s whether this one is still wearable."

She tugged at the wrinkled material with annoyance.

Xavier considered it for a moment.

"Then wear mine."

Sora turned toward him.

She looked him up and down.

His clothes were obviously made for his much larger frame.

"Then what will you wear?"

Xavier answered matter-of-factly, "I’ll go without."

Sora’s eyes widened.

"What?"

He looked completely unconcerned.

"You’ve seen me before. Besides, my figure isn’t bad."

Sora’s mouth twitched.

She couldn’t deny it.

Xavier had a powerful physique, broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and clearly defined muscles. His appearance was undeniably pleasing to the eye.

But she had already seen more than enough of him today.

"No."

She immediately shook her head.

"Your clothes are too big."

"Then I’ll get you another beast-skin skirt."

Seeing that Sora still looked unhappy, Xavier wisely changed the subject.

The moment she heard him mention getting another skirt, Sora remembered the previous incident involving Ryan.

Her expression became serious.

"You’d better use teleportation to get it."

Xavier raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Don’t let anyone see you," Sora warned. "Otherwise, there will be even more gossip."

The rumors from that morning had already become completely ridiculous.

She didn’t want to give the tribe another reason to talk.

Xavier studied her for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his lips.

"You’re embarrassed now?"

Sora glared at him.

"Just go."

Although he clearly found her reaction amusing, Xavier obediently activated his teleportation ability.

In the blink of an eye, his figure disappeared.

Sora released a long breath.

Finally, some peace.

She looked down at herself and shook her head.

What had happened today?

One moment, she had been searching for suitable soil because she wanted to build a small oven.

The next, Xavier had completely ruined her plans.

She sighed.

At least she could still finish the oven later.

Before long, Xavier returned.

His speed was astonishing.

Sora had barely managed to straighten the wrinkled skirt around herself when a familiar figure appeared again.

This time, however, Xavier was carrying more than just a beast-skin skirt.

He had brought a matching top as well as a small piece of clothing meant to be worn underneath.

Sora’s expression stiffened when she saw it.

For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

Xavier noticed her hesitation.

Then he glanced at the small garment with curiosity.

He had apparently thought it was something else entirely.

"So that’s what it is," he murmured.

Sora quickly snatched it from his hand.

"Don’t stare."

Xavier crossed his arms and watched her with interest.

Although his expression remained calm, his eyes betrayed his thoughts.

Sora really did look different from before.

Even after everything that had happened, she still carried an unfamiliar charm that had become more noticeable since returning from the God Mountain.

She turned away from him and began putting on the new clothes.

Xavier’s gaze lingered for a moment before he deliberately looked elsewhere.

There would always be another opportunity to tease her later.
