Chapter 2780: Chapter 1192: Symbiotic Relationship (2)
There must be a method for long-distance signal transmission to attract another purple worm of a different gender to come searching.
This signal definitely can’t be transmitted too close; it must be akin to a whale’s thousand-mile call.
"Yes," replied the Enlightenment Purple Worm affirmatively, "All purple worms can emit a pulse signal from the Earth, which only we can sense.
Through this Earth pulse, we can broadly understand each other’s status, location, and distance, facilitating our mating and reproduction."
"How far does the Earth pulse signal travel?" Gaven asked.
"This depends on the Life Dice of the worm emitting the signal, measured at one Life Dice per ten kilometers." The Enlightenment Purple Worm truthfully answered.
"Between 150 kilometers and 200 kilometers!" Gaven nodded knowingly.
This is a trait of the multiverse, where many things are tied to the Life Dice.
After all, the higher the Life Dice, the stronger one is, and the closer the connection with the multiverse.
At first glance, this distance doesn’t seem far, but what if you convert it into a radius?
The coverage area would be quite vast, encompassing most of the Marching Mountains.
Gaven continued to ask, "Have you received any Earth pulse signals in the vicinity?"
"Several received, not less than ten, with the nearest signals being within 50 kilometers." The Enlightenment Purple Worm replied affirmatively.
"So many!" Gaven was somewhat surprised.
It appears he underestimated the number of purple worms in the ground; their absence in evidence does not mean they do not exist.
"When you have the time, coordinate with Lord Beary to mark all positions of those purple worms and see if there’s an opportunity to recruit them into our ranks." Gaven immediately adjusted his thinking.
Given that the number of purple worms in the Material Plane exceeds his expectations, starting with the easy ones seems wise.
While the number of purple worms in the Earth Elemental Plane is indeed high, bringing them over poses a challenge.
Adult purple worms are giant, requiring a spellcaster with 24 professional levels to perform the cross-plane teleportation spell to summon them back.
These Enlightenment purple worms already have a super giant body type; they can only pass through a cross-plane portal matching their size or have to possess teleportation ability themselves, making dependence on others difficult.
"Glad to serve," the Enlightenment Purple Worm replied without hesitation.
"Since you already possess intelligence and divine nature, you are ready to establish separate branches under your own names." Gaven turned the topic toward the two Enlightenment Purple Worms.
"Please grant the name, Master!" As requested by the tunnel purple worm, enlightened by Gaven.
Objects resemble their owners; these Enlightened beings especially so.
The knowledge in their soul consciousness is imparted by others, so naturally, their character and cognition align highly with their Enlightenment mentors, even if the mentor’s image is a terrifying creature.
Gaven did not refuse, instead contemplating for a bit and said, "Your race name is easy, just based on your capabilities. You’ll be called Tunnel Purple Worm and Molten Lava Purple Worm. The former will assist in developing tunnels and road construction, while the latter will help Lord Beary forge the Earth Veins network.
If managed well, you’ll gain your own exclusive divine nature, initiating your divine positions, for which your names are important.
You shall be named Tunnel Builder Cassilio, and you, Molten Lava Weaver Cassitari."
Gaven’s naming can be described as straightforward and blunt; Cassilio is a phonetic translation in common tongue, meaning the first Tunnel Purple Worm in Chinese, while Cassitari means the first Molten Lava Purple Worm.
What he said is not exaggeration.
Divine nature and power are standard things seized early by early claim.
The twin sisters, Moon Goddess Sulun and Night Goddess Shar, were birthed when God of Gods Ao created the world to contain planet Toril, with the original void blending into these twin primordial deities, one representing light, the other symbolizing darkness.
Initially, the two sisters were loving and inseparable, creating the celestial body named Toril and imbuing it with a soul, birthing Mother Earth Shontia.
Shontia later prayed to them for warmth to nurture life and everything on her body.
Sulun responded to Mother Earth Shontia’s plea, traversing planes to reach the depths of the Fire Elemental Plane, where she found fragments of Eternal Fire, igniting a giant celestial body to become the sun, warming Shontia with its light.
However, in this affair, Night Goddess Shar and her sister disagreed, cherishing the original darkness, hostile to life and warmth, and furiously attacked her sister hoping to extinguish the sun again, restoring everything to the origin, marking the start of the battle of Light and Darkness, which continues till today.
In search of Eternal Fire fragments, Moon Goddess Sulun depleted much of her divine nature power, falling behind during the early Divine War; her brilliance was almost swallowed by Night Goddess a few times, plunging the world into endless darkness.
Helpless, Goddess Sulun made a desperate move, stripping part of her divine nature power from herself, casting it to her sister, tearing off an equal amount of divine nature power from her.
Two forces of light and dark divine nature power fused to form the first Magic Goddess, Misrue, representing pure magic and becoming the guardian of the original magic network that spans the entire world of Toril.
